Yeah that’s way toooo airbrushed. That said, I am soooo very excited for the new single and album. Go Kelly!

Kelly is such a pretty girl without all of that makeup & airbrushing. *sigh* Who know’s maybe she herself does not want to be “the girl next door” anymore. Looking forward to new music from Kelly!

The picture is pretty but .. this is Kelly not Britney. I do think her song will probably take off the way Britney’s comeback song did. It should be fun to watch.

i like it, love the colors. Mike Ruiz (the photographer) seems to go over the top with photoshop, in most of his photoshoots.

LOL star, I kinda thought the same thing. The cover makes me really curious about the song. At first, I thought it would be all angsty and stuff, but this cover definitely makes me rethink that. Anyway, TOTALLY excited to hear it!!

Oh Kelly, my absolute favorite AI of all time. I’m not loving the cover but I’ll reserve judgement until I hear the song because the cover is probably trying to relay the feeling of the song. I can’t wait to hear the new music.

Yup, a bit overdone, but the girl next door can be a little tarty too, right? Anyway, I am so not objective about Kelly, she is my first idol girlcrush, and as far as I am concerned she poops glitter and rainbows so the cover is devine. I can’t wait for the music. I’ve loved every cd she’s done, in varying degrees, of course, but I am just salivating for more music.

Heh, if they were determined to go soooo heavy on the photobrush, they could have at least whitened her teeth while they were at it….

Surprising cover…I don’t know if most people would even recognize this as Kelly Clarkson if it didn’t have her name on the cover. But speaking from experience, it’s hard for an artist to stop on a retouching until everything looks perfect.

Still, it’s the music that matters-bring it on!

Double Uuugh from me on the cover. Back to the old standby of tart city and airbrushed sexiness. I don’t find any of it the least bit attractive. It saddens me that Kelly ended up going there. It’s not that she needs to stay in some zone she was in – but at least, let her be herself. I sure hope this isn’t a pattern coming from TPTB, because David Cook’s covers were pretty off as well – but not this far. Yuck.

I like this cover better than Breakaways! I thought Breakaways was awful.

This looks more like Kelly than the Breakaway cover ever did. I think Mike Ruiz did a great job and it’s completely different from My December.

Look, Kelly’s back! Yay! Yes, she’s airbrushed and all, but it’s great to see her. So looking forward to buying her new album. I think her first two album covers Thankful and Breakaway were just meh and didn’t look nearly as polished nor sophisticated as My December. Glad to see she’s back.

I really like the cover (I guess I am in the minority). Love the colors and the sparkly lips and sucker. It just seems like a “fun” single cover to me. It makes me want to know what the song is about. I think it will definitely get people’s attention!!!!!

If her producers are smart (which they are) they need to cash in on the sound thats on the radio right now- rihanna/britney but with better vocals obviously. I just want to see kelly back in the spotlight- id sacrifice my own personal desires for her album in return for kelly coming out with some hits again. She deserves it and i hope this album is like Breakaway 2.0.

Yes, cookcricket – it’s not the album cover. Just the single cover, which I’m guessing is used for promo purposes, etc, and you’ll see it on iTunes when you download the song.

I mean, she is Kelly Clarkson, and radio usually seems to love her, but she does have some pretty direct competition out there in Katy Perry (and it pains me to say that because I can’t stand Katy Perry and want her 15 minutes to be up like, yesterday), so I’m kinda not surprised that they went this way. But, like I said, it makes me more curious about the song. I can’t see a sassy, tarty cover like this for an angsty, dark song. Hope it leaks soon so we can get the whole picture!

The My December cover was very stylized too, but somehow I liked it better than this. The My December cover still looked like Kelly.

I agree with Keel, it’s like Evanescence’s Everybody’s Fool video, where Amy Lee was a model and she looked stunning and glittery in the billboards, commercials, etc. but in real life she was in pain.

Kelly also used this ironic interpretation in Never Again video in 1:30 “ignorance is bliss”, as a housewife even with the same sparkle in a diamond earring.

I find this a little clever. Because Clive and all his minions (Dr Luke? Etc) wanted her to put songs in My December that came from the Rihanna school of singing. And from some blogs that I read, they want her to sing some songs ala Katy Perry. That’s why I love this cover is because it’s not just Kelly saying, you want it, you’ll have it. IMO, there’s a hidden fuck you somewhere there. Or maybe, that’s just me wanting to flip the bird at those people who sabotaged Kelly.

I think Kelly will surprise us and the song will be awesome. I loved My December and was thrilled that she chose to stick to her artistic guns. Titles can be all kinds of misleading, too. So who knows? All I know is that I’m looking forward to hearing the song.

I can’t wait for this – Kelly is one of my alltime favs- best voice to come out of Idol IMO and I usually prefer male voices.

I actually love the cover except for the extreme photochopping and makeup. Very clever otherwise – gets your attention right way at least.

I think it looks like a Pat Benatar 80′s type of album. It’s great because either loved or hated it’s been building suspense for the song. I have loved lot’s of Idols since but Kelly will always be the first.

Honestly though, all I care is for the music to have that awesome Kelly vibe and to not feel forced.

The thing I don’t like about the cover is they make her face look thinner than it is, and it hardly looks like her. But what else is new, they always do that.

Otherwise it’s stylish and I don’t mind it. She’s the girl next door but she likes to play characters too. It is indeed kind of playful and ironic too.

I think it is a beautiful picture but makes me wonder if Kelly lost 20 pounds. I don’t think I like the title, but that’s me.

Not feelin the luv for kelly’s music choices lately. I hope this release is better. Couldn’t stand the droaning with Reba. Don’t get me wrong I like them both but that song ugh , not liken’ it at all.
