    Ah! Thank you, MJ!
I loved him on Regis & Kelly. He did great, and I missed him on Ellen.
It is airing agian at 3, for me, but I didn’t want to wait that long! LOL

I loved the way he sang Daydream on Ellen, though!
    So great!

He is one amazing daydreaming boy!

  • http://www.dancin.ca dancin

ty so much mj i’m at work and miss regis and kelly

i loveeeeeeee jason :) and sure hope some label picks him up because i’d for sure buy his album
    his voice is so pure

  • dashing4

Jason seemed a little tired on Regis & Kelly, but I thought he did well. They were nice to him and seemed to understand that its not that easy to perform on a huge stage and sometimes, life happens and you mess up. He is an artist and like he said he needs to get emotionally connected to a song before he sings it and that’s not what AI is all about. They like the big voices and showy performers. I love Jason and can’t wait until he makes a record. Tomorrow night will not be the same without him on AI. Not the same at all. Wish you all the best JC!!

  • primeminister

THANK YOU, mj! I liked the slowed-down version of Daydream that he did, perhaps even more that SOTR. I also noticed a strength in his vocals on both songs that I never really saw on the show.

Oh, and them flesh colored pants again….good thing he wasn’t caught in the middle of the city with those on.

  • http://www.myspace.com/blakelewisfansunite Blaker_Cindy

I also noticed a strength in his vocals on both songs that I never really saw on the show.

Oh my gosh! I noticed that, too! :]
He really is going to do really well in his musical career. [:

  • idolbeat

I loved Daydream even better than SOTR! Did Ellen not hug him after?
    I’m watching again!

  • jpfan

I liked the interview on Regis. He came off as shy but charming and focused. I still think Jason is one of those contestants who stand out on idol because they are “different” but off the show, it’s hard to know how they’ll do. He also needs to pick up the energy level and on my TV, the dreads looked like they need a trim or something.

  • idolbeat

Watched again, I guess she touched him but it looked like she was in a hurry to get to Michael though.

  • jenniewdc

Thanks MJ for putting up the clips of Jason. I’m taping the shows at home, but enjoyed watching/listening to them at work. It’s almost lunchtime anyway.

Jason is such a joy to listen to. Add me to the list of those who want to buy his future CD. He’s refreshing and I’m sure with experience he’ll give more polished interviews, but hopefully will never lose his uniqueness.

Regis made a good comment about how Jason will learn a lot on tour. All the practice on the tour should increase his confidence. To echo some other posters on another thread, I’d like to hear Jason and Brooke duet on tour. Not necessarily a “joke” duet, but definitely one that would showcase both their voices.

  • skylight1219

I think Jason is just a low energy type of guy. He’s probably still tired. At least he didn’t yawn. LOL I was afraid of Ellen and her scissors. It was Brooke’s husband’s hair that she cut, not Carlys.

Jason was playing his new guitar. I do kind of wish he’d get the dreads trimmed some too. I’ve heard that long hair can make a person tired, and, zap their energy. Not sure if that is true or not, it’s just something that I read.

And, thanks MJ for putting these up so quickly. Ellen doesn’t come on here until 4 p.m, and, I couldn’t wait.

  • sumidol

She gave him a big hug in the beginning though – I do think he needs those dreads trimmed up too. (or) I loved his brothers look – Jason would look good like that too.

  • erennick

I thought he sounded great on both songs. He will definitely learn a lot on the tour. I love his voice on the recordings and with a little more performance experience he should have a nice career. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that he is adorable as heck…

I would also love to hear Jason and Brooke duet.

  • skylight1219

Ooh, I think that Jason’s brother looked a little like Danny Noreiga with his hair do,and, don’t want Jason with that look. I like the dreads, but, they just need trimmed.

  • http://http://ladymela99.livejournal.com/ princessmela

When I first saw his brother I thought it was a bad picture of Danny Noriega. I was like “Aww what a cute picture of Danny and Jason” and then I read the captions “Jason and his brother..” and I was like “Oh..” I do not want Jason looking like that.

I though he sang really well. I really want to hear Hallelujah again. I wonder why he’s not singing that? Maybe he is afraid of the bum note? Maybe he’s saving it for the finale? Hmmmmm

  • sumidol

Yeah, I do love Jason the way he is but I dont think the dreads can be a forever thing? I liked his brothers “look” with the cockeyed cap and the vans – he is a cutie and so is Danny.

  • http://myspace.com/saltwatercures pj

Actually, there’s an old pic of Jason with the Danny haircut, and he looks a lot like him, too. I like the dreds. I agree that a trim wouldn’t hurt.

Thanks for the vids, MJ. I thought he sounded good on both shows. :)

  • 4got

Thanks, MJ. This was a Monday bonus for me.

I’m still waiting for the interview sans ‘don’t vote’ & ‘hair’ issues. I was hoping Ellen but she disappointed. Jason on the other hand didn’t disappoint. He sounded great with Daydream. I wish Ellen would put it on itunes, I really liked this version.

Does Kelly have a soft spot for him? Looked like that to me. He sang SOTR very swetly but seemed tired?

    He looked hawt in both!

  • dashing4

Jason needs to keep the long hair, but I do agree a nice little trim wouldn’t hurt anything! His dreads looked better to me during his audition clips when they were a little shorter, but still long, still dreads, still great looking. I am listening to Jason now and love this boy..he needs to make a record soon, before I wear myself out on these AI tunes.

  • Allison

Loved “Daydream” – his voice sounded better than it did on the show. I think he definitely was tired on R & K, but still OTR was nice. I like that he’s not doing the same song on every show.
I don’t want him to even considering changing the hair.

  • julesbaby

just listened to jason sing on RANDK he seemed so relaxed today and was better than when he was on AI

  • sumidol

Jason would look good bald to me – with that face and that smile and that voice

  • http://myspace.com/saltwatercures pj

Jason didn’t seem so enthused by the bald pic, although he loved the afro! LOL.

  • hapi

    love Daydream!!!!!!!!

  • KrazeeK120

Thanks for the clips MJ! I’ve been looking forward to seeing Jason on the talk shows ever since Wednesday.

He’s getting much better with the interviews…I thought he sounded intelligent. Sang well too! I think he looks much better than he did last week when he was still on the show. Getting kicked off probably wasn’t the worst thing in the world that could happen to him.

  • rereader

Interviews were pretty lame, but Jason handled Ellen well, and the songs were great, especially Daydream…

  • jersey

I loved Jason’s performance of “Daydream” on Ellen. His voice really did seem strong and he seemed pretty relaxed – LOL- as if Jason is ever NOT relaxed. I’m glad he’s mixing the songs up on his appearances rather than singing the same song on all the shows.

  • metsin6

Man, I hope that someone with best intentions sign this guy up asap.

  • http://myspace.com/bigbooty_hoes sarahjean

hm I really wish some of these interviews might ask some original questions… hair… that’s just so obvious and now I’ve heard about it at least 3 times. I feel like I’ve just watched the same interview over and over and over… I don’t blame him for being tired or unenthused, I feel that way just watching it.

  • primeminister

Jason would be hot as a girl with Kelly’s hair. LOL.

Anyways, I agree with y’all. The dreads are cool, but they need some trimming.

Man, I hope that someone with best intentions sign this guy up asap.

Me too, metsin6. What he does not need now is a bad contract. He needs to find a sympathetic producer, who will allow him to put out music he’ll proud of when he’s older.

hm I really wish some of these interviews might ask some original questionsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ hairà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s just so obvious and now Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve heard about it at least 3 times. I completely agree. The “don’t vote” and dreads questions are really getting old. But, on the upside, he gets to clear up these rumors on shows that people DO watch, so that’s good.

  • jpfan

They always ask the same questions. And if he’s tired or unenthused after a couple of days, he’ll really burn out when he has to promote an album or a single. And since he’s trying to gain new fans, I don’t think tired or unenthusiastic is the way to go. I actually thought he was ok on Regis but just needed a bit more oomph.

  • skylight1219

Jason did NOT like the bald look. LOL I think some of the interviewers are just curious about dreadlocks. I was too, so, I did some research on them. And, yes, you can learn to do dreads over the internet. There’s actually some videos on you tube which gives you step-by-step.

Jason actually looked very comfortable looking at the audience. That was a step in the right direction. I think he’ll lose his shyness more as time goes on.

I’m happy that he sang 2 different songs too. It was probably his idea. He gets bored very easily, it seems.

  • primeminister

Which is probably why a major label deal with a full-force promotion probably isn’t the way to go for him. Michael and DCook, on the other hand, will be able to cope better with those responsibilities, I think.

  • jpfan

Even artists on indie labels have to do promo. They’re just not lucky enough to get featured on Regis or the Ellen show. After you leave Idol, they don’t just hand the career to you. You have to work like a dog whether you win or come in fourth to make it happen. It’ll be interesting to see how much Jason wants it.

  • calimari

The videos won’t work for me here at work, but I’ll look forward to seeing them when I get home. I recall in season 5 we were complaining that the questions were the same in every interview. That has got to be exhausting. Looking forward to seeing the “daydream” performance as I didn’t record that on the DVR so I’ve only seen it the one time…

  • primeminister

Yes, artists of indie labels have to do promo, but clearly the number of public appearances indie artists have to do are significantly less than those signed with a major label.

I don’t think any one is deluded enough to think Jason will be handed a career.

  • skylight1219

Jason said he got more fan mail than the other guys. I’m curious what David A’s fans send him? Teddy bears, bibs, pull ups?

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/iamthepurplewalrus purplesmile

Too bad Ellen didn’t seem too convinced. She looked almost disappointed, a little pissed even. Ellen and I must have been neighbors on that grassy knoll, which is unfortunate, as this is exactly what I was hoping would not be the case. Jason did handle it pretty well, though, and he sounded great on Daydream.

I liked the Regis & Kelly bit better. They were nice to him and Jason came across well. I LOLed at the Jason photochops (even if I think they could have been done better, especially the bald one).

Thanks for putting these videos up, mj. :)

Man, I hope that someone with best intentions sign this guy up asap.

    So do I. *prays*

  • sciencefan

Regis made a good comment about how Jason will learn a lot on tour.

I noticed that, too. Regis seemed to be speaking from experience.
The tour should be a lot of fun for everyone because theyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll get to be together, but not be judged.
    Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll be like a family reunion.

Michael Castro DOES look like Danny Noriega!

I though he sang really well. I really want to hear Hallelujah again. I wonder why heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s not singing that? Maybe he is afraid of the bum note?

I noticed that Jason must have been listening well to the vocal coach because several songs since then have ended on a long breath, and he held onto the note just fine, and without being goofy about it.

Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve read comments by other people that they donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t want the à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“moment spoiledà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ by him singing Hallelujah again. So, who knows.

Were both of these Jason portions taped on Friday?
Is Jason back in Hollywood now?

Gee. I wonder if I should watch Ellen? How can you not believe one of the most honest guys youà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve ever met?

  • skylight1219

I think that’s just Ellen’s way of trying to be funny. He clearly had his teeth in the bottom lip, which indicates a v letter. If he would’ve thought about it, he should’ve just held up 3 fingers. We would’ve gotten the message.

Jason told R&K he was a student at A&M. Gosh,t hey could’ve asked what his major is, but, not a peep. That would’ve been a different question.

Oh well, he is getting better at interviews.

  • flynnsgirl

Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m happy that he sang 2 different songs too. It was probably his idea. He gets bored very easily, it seems.

This made me laugh, because I think the same thing! Wait till he has to sing the same 3 or 4 songs 50 some times during the tour, he might just want to go back to cleaning swimming pools. Although it would break my heart if he did. I want some Jason music!!!

  • primeminister

Gee. I wonder if I should watch Ellen? How can you not believe one of the most honest guys youà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve ever met?

Sciencefan, it’s up to you. I got the same vibe that purps did: that is, Ellen didnt’ seem too convinced with his responses. I guess I was also expecting Ellen to be more enthused about this interview, and I didn’t really get that.

    “Daydream” was excellent though.

  • http://myspace.com/saltwatercures pj

I thought Ellen was just having a little fun with Don’t-Vote-gate and didn’t see her reaction as a big deal. I guess I should rewatch, but the videos aren’t working for me anymore. Jason came across well, regardless. “Daydream” was excellent.

  • jersey

pj, I agree with you. I think it was just a “bit”. I actually enjoyed the Ellen interview and song better than the R and K one. The R and K “interview” spent too much time on the pictures and not enough time talking to Jason.

  • sciencefan

To answer my own question, Jason is still in New York right now.
He did Regis and Kelly live.
(Why do I have a sudden urge to go to New York?!)

    Here’s a treat:
Here he is being telephone-interviewed on the radio.
    http://www.krq.com/cc-common/podcast.html

    I saved the podcast.
His was the second one down just a few minutes ago.

I’m gonna watch Ellen at 4 PM and tape Jason’s portion.

Redlasso hasn’t been working for me for the last half hour that I’ve been trying.

  • longsong

I wonder if people thinking Jason said “Don’t Vote” changed the outcome of the results?

Ah well, water under the bridge. The sad, Jason-less bridge.

  • Lisa

Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve heard that long hair can make a person tired, and, zap their energy. Not sure if that is true or not, ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s just something that I read.

My hair has been down to my bum most of my life and never had it zap my energy. (it’s currently cut again, lol). It did however give me headaches at times from it being thick and heavy, neck would hurt too at times.

I don’t think his dreads being long is zapping him. I think he is just a very laid back guy. I have known lots of guys like him in my lifetime, heh. I think he is quite handsome with those dreads plus he just has a model’s face.

Love the vids! Thank you so much MJ! Jason was great in these!!

P.S…Wanted to add that I love that Jason did two different songs. I always get bored listening to the same song on every circuit they run these kids on. Kudos to you Jason for changing it up!

  • Frogpond

Sciencefan thanks for posting that link.
I am glad it was a “new interview” and not the same thing I have been hearing on all the other ones.

Yeah redlasso is not working for me either

  • Natasha

I could listen to Jason all day because I’m so in love with his voice. It’s amazing that he only recently started singing. He is really talented and the show won’t be the same without him – his cuteness, his sweetness and all those little “Jason-isms” that only he could come up with. He’s just so genuine and I’m a fan for life.

  • sumidol

I like the fact that Jason changed it up and sang two different songs. I heard that his sing-out song last wednesday was supposed to be Tamborine Man but at the last minute he told the band that he was doing Sheriff instead. He is going to do what he loves and I am going to love listening to it when he gets there. If he could learn all different kinds of drum pieces for shows in the past I dont think that he will have a problem in the future learning a bunch of different songs that he loves and connects to. He pushed himself each week, not only learning the songs but the guitar pieces too for each song he sang except for one or two?

  • sciencefan

I didn’t think Ellen was that bad. I think she believed him in the end. She says, after all, why would he lie about it? He’s obviously free to tell us he’s relieved to be off the show.

I liked his two songs, too.

I don’t know what the other contestants did, but didn’t Brooke do 2 different songs? I think she did.

Ellen said Carly’s husband when she meant Brooke’s husband.

I could tell the audience respected his desire to not let Ellen cut his hair.
I was proud of him for standing up to her like that.
Who knows how much she would have cut?!
    Or how many times?!
She took TWO snips off Brooke’s husband!

  • dancingqueen

Good job, Jason! Glad he told Ellen it would be ridiculous for him to have said, “Don’t Vote”.

  • sciencefan

On his sing-out, I guess the band wanted Jason to start doing Tambourine Man because there was silence.

So Jason said, “We’re doing the Marley one. What’s going on?”.
He needed the band to start with the horns. Which of course they did.

    That was surprising to me.
I have never been so carefree of people’s opinions that I’ve just been able to perform whatever I want in front of people who I’m sure are going to hate it!

    That kid’s amazing.

dancingqueen – I caught that, too. But he said it in a nice way so that it wasn’t really directed at Ellen personally. His mom taught him to be respectful.

  • primeminister

Thanks, sciencefan, for the link. That interview is probably one of my favorites so far!

  • http://www.xanga.com/werwanderflugen Preston

I must say that this is the first year that I’ve consistently enjoyed watching every contestant perform and do these post-show interviews. I really, really like this group of contestants this year, and for the first time I’m thinking about going to the tour.

Jason was fantastic on these, especially with Daydream. I’d buy an album of that!

  • vagabond

The interviews were great – Jason didn’t look so much tired to me on Regis and Kelly as he did shy! LOL But he made a point of laughing about having to sing at 9 am on that radio interview (great link, sciencefan!) so maybe he WAS tired. :)

He’s doing a great job with the interviews, and his singing really has improved just from the beginning of the season. Hope he keeps on working with a vocal coach, and also hope it doesn’t take too long for a CD to come out – I want it!

  • hicksaholic

Damn Preston, you need to call TPTB. I bet they will want to clone you!

  • gabam

    Thanks, MJ.

I think that Jason did a great job with the interviews and with the singing. I’m very proud of him. A few months ago, he never would have been able to pull off the interviews so well. He’s a lot less shy now.

I also liked that our polite, respectful, Jason used the word “ridiculous” because I felt that way too.

Thanks for the link to the radio interview, Sciencefan. I’m glad that they liked Jason because they can be brutal when they don’t like someone. I love that Jason will readily and happily talk about how his brother sings better than he does. He sounds proud of little brother, Michael. His eyes also lit up when he was talking about his little sister in a TV Guide Idol Wrap segment.

Jason also sang “Daydream” at the end of Access Hollywood tonight.

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/iamthepurplewalrus purplesmile

I also liked that our polite, respectful, Jason used the word à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“ridiculousà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ because I felt that way too.

This is surely one case where I would rather be ridiculous than right. I hope the people who actually matter think it’s ridiculous, too.

I think Jason is a really nice boy. There is certainly more reason to love him than to be upset or disappointed about. :)

Nobody wants to admit it….but….Jason C is NOT idol material, not good enough to make it to #1 or #2. Had he made it to #1 or 2, Simon would have walked off the show.

  • skylight1219

There are thousands of us who believe that Jason is idol material. And, so what if Simon walked off the show? Adios! And, he can take the other 2 stooges with him while he’s at it.

Really? What exactly is the barometer of “good enough”. Because, how I understand the rules is this – to get to 1 or 2 the only thing you need is more votes than 3 thru 24.

And – Simon is always spouting off about this or that or what horrendous outcome of horrific proportions will make him walk off the show. But he never GOES ANYWHERE. Because he’s being paid millions of dollars to be there. I’m not even sure Simon gives a rat’s a$$ who wins. All that sniping and making proclamations may all just be part of Simon’s tv character.

    Skylight, I second that emotion.

I heart how, after he was eliminated, Jason made physical contact with Randy (a repeated fist-to-fist greeting) and Pauler (a hug, of course), but he aimlessly strummed his guitar when Simon was talking to him. I think that sort of evasion is the Jason version of disrespect. I wish I could read Jason’s mind at that moment.

There is something fundamentally wrong with AI and getting rid of the so-called judges would only improve it.

  • skylight1219

Jason did a mini gig at the Presbyterian Hospital in NY today. It wasn’t made public, but, someone captured a video of him singing Daydream. Warning, it’s sideways, so, you’ll have to tilt your head to watch it. And, oh, by the way, his girlfriend is with him in NY.

    Amen Skylight!
Interesting observations Terrie. I wondered at the time if their words were for the camera but when Paula was interviewed afterwards, she seemed genuine in her admiration of him as a musician.

Randy said Hallelujah was the bomb but to me, he had many worthy performances not just that one. After thinking about the whole season, I would have to say that Dolly Parton night was my favorite night for all of them.
Because they all performed so great, I think Traveling Thru got overlooked.
I loved just about everyone’s rendition better than Dolly’s original – I think I bought more songs that night than any other!

  • 4got

I agree he’s not an ‘American Idol’ Idol and I say that as a huge compliment. He’s an individualistic musician who has managed to attract a LOT of fans on American Idol. That’s what matters in the end and if he’s able to deliver, his fans will buy his music.

Simon doesn’t know music, he is good at bitching and that’s what he’s paid for. I’m glad he didn’t become this years Simon-flavored bubble gum ready to be spat out once the flavor had been sucked out of it by the heavy AI chomping. Jason has the chance of a lifetime regardless of AI, it’s in his court now.

I think Simon felt let down by Jason. Just a REMINDER of Simon’s ‘You, like David, have just got ‘it’.’ Simon did recognise the ‘it’ factor that he’s so fond of. The ‘it’ factor got Jason a lot of fans so here’s to a bright future of music (in my ipod) for Jason. :drunk_tb:

  • skylight1219

Well, actually, Jason sang Memories pretty well. He was sick, and, stuffed up, but, his studio version is very nice. Makes me wonder if they hear the same thing I’m hearing. And, I don’t like ALW. He was snooty to Jason. By the way, I watched a series of you tube of “This is Your Life,” for Simon. Guess who one of his buddies is? Yep, ALW. It all makes sense now, doesn’t it?

Here’s a photo of Jason and his g/f in Central Park:

I don’t think Jason deserved to win AI, but I do believe he should be proud of his run and 4th place finish. He had plenty of good performances and a couple of great ones. His voice was my personal fave, and he’s one of 2-3 this year that I like their voice/sound enough that I’ll buy their album no matter what.

I’m glad he’s getting to spend some time with the gf in NYC! :)

  • 4got

Sky, I agree with you. ALfullofhimselfW was the worst thing that could’ve happened to Jason though AL’s love-fest with Brooke didn’t help Brooke either. Memories is one of my favorites despite the stuffed nose and it was hugely overlooked too. I’m sure that was a turning point for Jason – the meaness of the effing PTB in not mentioning his illness when they’d made a zillion excuses for everyone else before when they were ill.

Nobody wants to admit ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦.butà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦.Jason C is NOT idol material, not good enough to make it to #1 or #2. Had he made it to #1 or 2, Simon would have walked off the show.

I just think that’s all kind of wrong.

And, for emphasis, I’m not even going to argue what was posted.

All I’m going to say is, itunes.

Thanks for posting those, prime. :)

    I like this article:

Jason Castro – everyone’s favorite dreadhead, the guitar strumming, free spirit, with captivating eyes and a smile to make the female persuasion swoon and truth be told, the males too, didn’t exactly fit into the power Top 4 with Syesha, David Archuleta and David Cook. He felt he was the weakest singer of the remaining group; technically he might be right, but artistically, he ranked up there with David Cook, bringing something new and exciting to American Idol. While I enjoyed all of his performances, “Hallelujah”, was the break-through performance of the season, followed by “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “Travelin Thru.” While the judges didn’t love last week’s selection of “Forever in Blue Jeans”, his studio version is my new favorite song! Paula was right on the money when she proclaimed how great his lower register is on this song.

As Ryan Seacrest started to read the results, I was holding on to the hope that Jason’s fans, the “Dreadheads” and the “Castronauts”, had power voted him into safety. I had voted with two phones and even my 68 year old mom had voted! When Ryan announced “Syesha you are safe”, leaving Jason on the stage to finish fourth in the competition, I swear I heard the refrain from “Travelin Thru”:

“Goodbye you little children, goodnight to all my friends
Farewell you lovely ladies and to all who knew me when
And I hope I’ll see you down the road, you meant more than I knew
As I was travelin, travelin, travelin, just travelin thru.”

(I realize this is the second time I’m posting (about) lyrics from this particular song, but I can’t help it. I love it. Heh.)

    Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m still waiting for the interview sans à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t voteà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ & à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹hairà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ issues.

Yeah, that’s becoming really boring already. They could be asking him lots of other questions; life in Rockwell, construction studies, the music of his family. I’m kinda taken with music from Columbia and Venezuela right now (check out Columbian harpists).

Several comments have been made about Jason not being right to win AI. Fair enough but what exactly is the criteria to be American Idol, beyond the commercial aspect? While I enjoy the show for the new faces, I haven’t purchased any CDs by the winners except for Taylor Hicks.

I never cared for Barbra Striesand or Celine Dion, supposidly the best in popular music and hugely commercial. Just not my thing.

A good indie label with some coaching will help him find his way in the business. And FM radio (NPR?) seems right for him, once he gets going. Still early days yet for him.

purps, that article was pure Jason. That boy will do well.

That song, Traveling Through, was so prophetic, wasn’t it? That article brought tears to my eyes, because like it or not, his presence WILL be missed this week on AI.

I like the line from Daughtry’s song, “Home.” Be careful what you wish for. Amen!

Jason did a mini gig at the Presbyterian Hospital in NY today.

I read a quoted post that Jason also sang Hallelujah at this event (upon request) and played the guitar on it even as he didn’t really know the chords.

That song, Traveling Through, was so prophetic, wasnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t it?

Yeah, I thought there was a reason Jason was so excited about Country week. If I remember correctly, there were reports that Jason had to draw for this song. I’m glad he won it.

Ok, I will get it out of my system once and for all and just post the whole dang thing.

    TRAVELIN’ THRU

Well I can’t tell you where I’m going, I’m not sure of where I’ve been
But I know I must keep travelin’ till my road comes to an end
I’m out here on my journey, trying to make the most of it
I’m a puzzle, I must figure out where all my pieces fit
Like a poor wayfaring stranger that they speak about in song
I’m just a weary pilgrim trying to find what feels like home
Where that is no one can tell me, am I doomed to ever roam
I’m just travelin’, travelin’, travelin’, I’m just travelin’ on

Questions I have many, answers but a few
But we’re here to learn, the spirit burns, to know the greater truth
We’ve all been crucified and they nailed Jesus to the tree
And when I’m born again, you’re gonna see a change in me

God made me for a reason and nothing is in vain
Redemption comes in many shapes with many kinds of pain
Oh sweet Jesus if you’re listening, keep me ever close to you
As I’m stumblin’, tumblin’, wonderin’, as I’m travelin’ thru

I’m just travelin’, travelin’, travelin’, I’m just travelin’ thru
I’m just travelin’, travelin’, travelin’, I’m just travelin’ thru

Oh sometimes the road is rugged, and it’s hard to travel on
But holdin’ to each other, we don’t have to walk alone
When everything is broken, we can mend it if we try
We can make a world of difference, if we want to we can fly

Goodbye you little children, goodnight to all my friends
Farewell you lovely ladies and to all who knew me when
And I hope I’ll see you down the road, you meant more than I knew
As I was travelin’, travelin’, travelin’, travelin’, travelin’ thru

I’m just travelin’, travelin’, travelin’, I’m just travelin’
Drifting like a floating boat and roaming like the wind
Oh give me some direction lord, let me lean on you
As I’m travelin’, travelin’, travelin’, travelin’ thru

I’m just travelin’, travelin’, travelin’, I’m just travelin’ thru
I’m just travelin’, travelin’, travelin’, I’m just travelin’ thru

Like the poor wayfaring stranger that they speak about in song
I’m just a weary pilgrim trying to find my own way home
Oh sweet Jesus if you’re out there, keep me ever close to you
As I’m travelin’, I’m travelin’, as I’m travelin’ thru

There. I’m happy now. Thank you, Dolly Parton. :p
