Bucky Covington Interview: Singer Talks Five-Year Recording Break, ‘Good Guys’ Album and ‘Drinking Side of Country’ Video – Bucky Covington has traveled a long road to his sophomore album. The ‘American Idol’ alumnus scored the biggest debut of any country artist of 2007 with his self-titled first album, but found himself unable to follow up on its success after Lyric Street Records closed it doors, leaving him in contractual limbo for several years. Covington bounced back with ‘Good Guys,’ which he released on Sept. 11 via Nashville’s eOne Entertainment. The highly-anticipated album has a little something for everyone, from sensitive ballads and message songs, to hard-drinking party anthems like ‘Drinking Side of Country,’ a duet with Shooter Jennings. The video for that track has logged an astounding two million views (and some change) since it debuted on YouTube in early September, featuring a guest turn from fellow ‘Idol’ graduate Kellie Pickler as Daisy Duke. “I had to get Kellie to [wear] Daisy Dukes because I was tired of Googling it and nothing coming up!” Covington tells us, laughing. – Read more at Taste of Country

‘Dancing With the Stars’ Week 7: Look ahead – 6:33PM EST November 4. 2012 – What’s in store for our seven celebs during Week 7 of Dancing With the All-Stars? A reprieve, for starters. This week is proving to be a lucky No. 7 for the dancers because Monday’s episode (ABC, 8 ET/PT) is a regular two-hour performance show, one that ABC initially said would end with a live (instant) elimination. But that idea was nixed, as homes on the East Coast are still without power and that affects voting, as it did last week (when we heard from many of our readers who felt it was unfair that high-scoring Sabrina Bryan was sent home). Host Tom Bergeron announced that no celeb will be eliminated this week. And there is no results show Tuesday, as the presidential election takes over the airwaves. – Read more at USA Today

‘The Voice’ S3, Week 8: Inside Look From Jamar Rogers – The Knockout Rounds have, by far, been the most exciting portion of The Voice this season. Since this is a new feature of the show, I don’t have any experiences from my season to compare. However, I did notice some very uncomfortable situations for the contestants: having to sit onstage as their opponents slaughtered them vocally (I saw a few contestants shoot daggers. If looks could kill…). And to make matters worse, the contestants that are waiting in the wings for their moment of glory are forced to watch the massacre on a flat screen backstage (I would’ve been sweating like a fourteen year old boy and simultaneously throwing up my lunch on their very polished floors). I also realized that a few songs are VERY popular on The Voice and witnessed certain contestants have some pretty magical moments. I compiled my musings… – Read more at The Insider
