Apparently I’m from another planet… I don’t get Cook at all. Check out the second half of the season… the operative word would be “WEAK”. Which is a good word for the whole season. And I’ve watched EVERY EPISODE OF EVERY SEASON thus far. These AI execs better find a way to ‘bring it’ next year.

Big kudos to David for getting us a video blog so quickly and for honoring and building a community here versus a pedestal. What an honorable and beautiful spirit. I can’t wait to hear all the amazing communication and music he has in store for us. The man clearly knows how to use the camera to speak directly to our souls. Thank you.

It is like he is talking just to me…but of course, we all feel that way. That is a major part of his appeal.

Cookie – what a great guy. I really like him as a person. You know, I think he likes cheesiness! But that’s okay with us, right? I like his song. I’m not surprised he believes in magic rainbows. He might lose street cred with the hard-core rock crowd, but I don’t think he was that hard to begin with, which is why he had wider appeal.

I just hope they come up with a new single real quick so they can retire maginc rainbows.

I hate the magic rainbow song, but I have no doubt that the song is special to him, simply because it’s representative of one of the best days of his life. However, that song needs to go away so he can put *actual* music.

I know he has to sell the song, because it’s imperative at this moment that he picks his battles wisely. He needs the label to be behind him, and if he starts knocking shit right now, he’s not going to make any new friends. That’s just the way it is. I really hope his record is as amazing as I know it can be. Taylor helped us all learn what happens when you try to “stick it to the man” and make devil comparison to American Idol. I honestly believe that he’s got to build up trust to be able to have any creative impact in his career. I do vehemently request that Optimistic to a Fault is on the record, because I very much love it.

I am excited to see the video blog and it does make me love him more, because I know the boy is a huge dork, but he’s a sexy dork, so what are you going to do?

I forgot but two of his interviews he gave he stated that “Music of the Night” was his favorite because he knew he could do it but he also knew that people never would guess he could. He got a thrill out of surprising people.

The other one I think it was one of the exit interviews someone asked him what was his Favorite performance and he said “The world I know, now”.

Sally, I’m not entirely sure how this is relevant to anything. But, I’m not really sure there is an exact way to measure “literacy.” DC does come off as quite smart (he calls himself a word nerd and the others in the top 10 said he’s the smartest), but I know that Clay and Carrie both have college degrees, so chances are, they are quite literate too.

Moving along, I think David Cook is pretty amazing. He makes the Magic Rainbows song (and a lot of other songs) listenable, which is impressive in and of itself. I can’t wait to hear his CD…I bet it will be one of the best (if not THE best) AI winner CD ever.

About Kimberly…well, it’s sunk into my head over the last two days that: 1) David Cook is the Americal Idol 2008; 2) he asked peppy Kimberly Caldwell to a dinner date; 3) she said yes; 4) they already went on the date; 5) there’s absolutely nothing I can do about it. Hope he’s happy while they’re together. And I actually do happen to like Kim to an extent, so if she can bring David some happiness in his life, then okay. I don’t have any qualms about it.

Huh? What? Who? Jordin does not srike me as particularly articulate. So, if we were going to try and figure out who was the most literate, I’d probably list about 20 finalists before her. Jordin has her talents, but I don’t think she’s overloaded with brain power. She’s average at best from my perspective. I’d say Cookie is about 15 steps above her on the brainy scale.

I certainly understand about the magic rainbows. I mean who doesn’t like those crunchy little marshmallows in Lucky Charms. Tasting each moment and living out loud however, to me, is akiin to Carly’s wanting to be able to hear what people say. It’s a coronation song, maybe a bit less cloying than some, but I’m thinking that’s only because he’s singing it.
