I am heading out to soccer so I’ll just say <3 all around. Heh. Helping people is always good by me. Pretty pictures are an added bonus ;)

Thanks for the pics, MJ. DC looks good. Amused that he wore the skeleton hoodie to the event.

Great to see Dave get his tennis on. Even though it’s not his thing, he gets to play, gets a bit of a workout, do some mingling among interesting folk, and most importantly, help a great charity.  And it happens to coincide with a change in tours so that might be a nice tweener break for him.

I love this one that Hannah Storm posted from last night’s Gala. Chrissie and Dave have really seemed to bond over the past couple of years – they first met when he sang America The Beautiful at the finals of the US Open in 2010.

These pictures are just great!  I get the impression that he is playing a LOT better this year than he did last time, which I would expect since he seems to be a pretty competitive guy.  Nice that he gets a little break from the tour to hobnob with some different folks.  He is looking pretty fit to me too, I might add :)

    Thanks for the thread, mj.

I like this action shot -from the match yesterday.

And it sounds like David ‘did’ sing at the cocktail party last night – Jill Zarin, formerly of RHNYC, tweeted “so nice to meet you. Love the new clean cut look and you sounded amazing. Good luck tomorrow! Stay in touch!”

He said he would if he won, when someone asked him yesterday.

He’s looking better with age and soo comfortable, unintimidated in celebrity-circles, he should be invited to sing for them more often. I remember the last year pictures from the event, great Chriss has invited David again, he is one irresistible guy not to. LOL to that hoody(ie), I’ve thought it is an ordinary one for October-Halloween connection, seems to be his skeleton printed there.

LOL Cook, you are adorable. <3

Are they going to air some of this on ESPN like they did last year? Or did that already happen?

ESPN did that last year a bit after after the Tournament, hellomusicgirl; it’s not over yet. But CEC (Chris Evert Charities) had video before that, and spectators may have some footage to share as well – I understand actor/comedian Jon Lovitz, the Umpire, was heckling at today’s match – looking forward to seeing/hearing the funny stuff.

David is looking very good, cute and fit in those pics.

??  “new clean cut look”?  Did Cook shave off his beard before he sang?  lol

David & Jan Michael Gambill did not win their match today against Chris Evert and Kevin McKidd.

Apparently he also cut his hand during the game, but still kept playing.

Heh. Fuzzywuzzy, not from the picture evidence today, he didnt. That part confused me too.Maybe he trimmed the scruff?? IDK what she’s talking about.

A little video clip. David in all black today – playing close to the net.

I loved that short video. Was just going to post it. What a mimic!

As for the “new clean cut look” comment, that woman must not have seen him since he auditioned for Idol. It doesn’t even make any sense. It’s probably a joke.

Alright, I’ll admit I came by just to see David’s attire for the afternoon.  Yummy.  Doing things for charity is always welcomed.

Recap of the second day – From Twitter

Quick Recap of Tennis today: Once again, Dave was in great spirits, they played Fade Into Me during introductions and he played w/JMG again. This time he was against Chris E. & Kevin McKidd. He played fantastic until he ran into a make-shift wall of plants while chasing a ball down. He cut his hand and was bleeding (I’m sure it was superficial).

Jon Lovitz kept saying that David was bleeding to death and they had to finish the match quick because Dave didn’t have too much time left. He refused a bandaid and then Chris E. wanted Kevin McKidd (plays a doctor on Grey’s Anatomy?) to take a look at his ‘wound’. Chris E. talked to David throughout the match even though they were on apposing teams. As the match progressed, Lovitz scolded CE for taking advantage of the ‘one armed singer who was bleeding to death’ when she hit a great shot right past him. Last thought for now, CE obviously adores him. IMHO :-)

Finally! I ‘knew’ there was banter to be had from this.

Ha!  Loved that recap.  Always love seeing David doing fun things for charity.  :)

The News marches on – so I wanted to leave this thread with a video from the match on Saturday, before it slides off the front page.

Also. The news from CECharities – “Special thank you to everyone that made this event happen $800,000.00 raised.”

And a quote from 2010, during a video interview w/The South Florida Insider
“I will never shy away from embarrassing myself for a good cause.” David Cook
