More music, More Archie, MORE EXCITEMENT!!!

Makes it much easier for us fans who miss him while he is on his mission.  Awe, he is so good to us….o/*heart melting*o/

Intrigued by the name of the Album which is  BEGIN.  Even though David won’t be available to promote it, Kurt Bestor (one of the producers) has already had one TV appearance which to me was a good start at least for fans and SLC.  He talked highly of David’s voice and has worked with him in the past.
I’m sure he will do more promotion later!!  Glad they will be releasing the Album Internationally as David has many fans in other countries.

There is an Extreme Makeover segment being shown in the Phillipines this coming Sunday in which David appeared in.  Looking forward to seeing it.

David’s album Forevermore has been #1 on Myx.ph charts in the Phillipines competing with other artists.

Pretty blessed to be a fan of David Archuleta.  He has given us so much. 2 pop albums, a Christmas album, an OPM of love songs, and now a new albums of covers and original music….  Not to mention a autobiograpy, a song on the album Celtic Christmas with Orla Fallon, and, of course, the wonderful Glad Christmas Tidings.  The young man is only 21 years old, too.  Wow!  I hope he is getting a much needed break out of the crazy schedule he has been living for the last four years.  I know he is still very busy, but it is a much different
way of life than he has been used to.  If you put the tours, the charity and regular performances, the modeling, and the mini-series in the mix, I am amazed that he has stayed so healthy.

Wow, BEGIN coming out in August is really an unexpected treat for David’s fans.  A few random thoughts:

1.  I am surprised that it is coming out so soon after Forevermore, especially since that CD just became available at HMV Singapore a couple of weeks ago and is coming out in Malaysia shortly.  I would have thought that it would be better for David to space the releases out more in order to have new music to release in 2013.  But he may very well have recorded more stuff in 2011 to release in 2013. 

2.  I wonder if the release of BEGIN in August means that David is not going to try to release Forevermore in the US?  It was on iTunes for a nanosecond and then was removed without explanation.  It’s too bad because I really think the Forevermore CD contains some of his best work. 

3.  I agree that expectations for sales of BEGIN have to be realistic when there will be no big label backing, no radio play and no David present to do promotion.  Distribution will be a problem because without the label, there’s no way it will be as available in as many locations as his major label CDs. However, Jive did not exactly promote the heck out of David’s last 2 CDs.  There was NO national TV appearance for the lead single – No Ellen, no Leno, Kimmel, Fallon, Letterman, no Regis and Kelly, no GMA, no Today Show and certainly no American Idol performance.  The lead single still sold 21k in its first week.  When his CD was released, there were two national TV appearances only – Regis and Kelly and Wendy Williams and it still outsold Joe Jonas’s heavily promoted CD. I am cautiously optimistic.

4.  How the heck did David get out of his deal with 19R?  There are some Idols from the very early seasons of Idol who still have a link to 19R.  David is not selling millions but he is releasing lots of music that is doing well in Asia.  Why would 19R not want some of that money?  Maybe Azoff really negotiated a good deal for David after Season 7. 

5.  Hopefully David will try to release BEGIN in Asia.  Unlike in the U.S., he does have strong support from Radio and record stores there so promotion and distribution should be easier.  I think he is lucky to have solid support outside of the U.S.  As many have said before, a dollar is a dollar wherever it is earned.  Presently, some of the economies in Asia are actually doing better than the U.S. and Europe.

6.  Who wants to bet me that there won’t be a single mention of this BEGIN CD on any American Idol or 19 related site, entity or publication?  Frankly, it surprises me still that there has been no mention of his mission or his Forevermore CD by American Idol related entities at all.  Maybe it has something to do with point #4 haha.

No word on why it was dropped suddenly from US Itunes.  I had ordered it there prior it being dropped for  1.09 per song

How does a guy on a 2 yr out of the country mission, without label or professional management, manage to still put out and distribute music, while holding the interest of his core fans domestic and abroad?b Specially when more recent alums w/ big label contracts and mgmt and those so called ‘perks’ can’t get arrested, or get anyone to play their music on radio, or buy it? Gotta give the little guy props – he’s not fading near as fast into oblivion or irrelevancy as some of his peers with all those ‘perks’. If anything, it’s probably been more financially lucrative for him, not being beholden to a label, or paying hi-priced mgmt for doing nothing, lol… Looks like a win/win for the fans – and him.

WoW! 5 albums in 4 years. Who knew David would be such a prolific artist! But then, those who know him personally all say he’s a walking jukebox. @.@! So thrilled for all the music he’s left for us now, and will definitely be waiting to see/hear what direction his music will take when he returns.
 

Just want to say Forevermore, debut single, from his newest album Forevermore, released in the Philippines is battling out hard against Gotta Be You by One Direction on MYX, Filipino version of MTV.  Forevermore has regained #1 spot on Daily top 10.  It’s 17th times of reigning #1 spot.  The song by One Direction, introduced two weeks ago, is playing see-saw with Forevermore.  It is fun to watch two dedicated fanbases battling against each other.  haha.

Yippie more music from David! Can’t wait, love “Forevermore” but I can’t listen to love songs all day, lols. Plus this seems like the album he wanted to release during his  2 year break. “Forevermore” was really a last minute project.  “BEGIN.” is being released by some small Utah distributor/label right? So excited!

Just nodding my head how this guy – gone for two years now has over a million followers on twitter, put out an album right after he left – which by the way is the best one so far, is releasing another one in Aug..  How many does he have?  Let’s see First two albums were with Jive, Christmas one, Glad Tidings, Forevermore, and the one from the Philipines, a clothing sponsorship AND hair products and a mini TV series – oh and a bestseller book?  That is one hard working young man and I tip my hat to him!  Gotta respect him!
