David Archuleta’s record label, Jive, is planning to release a new single from his   upcoming album.   According to All Access, David’s next single will be “Touch My Hand.”

You can listen to it on the stream of his upcoming album here. The song goes for adds in Pop on 12/9. The album drops on 11/11.

Jive had already been testing a couple of songs, so the choice of “Touch My Hand” isn’t exactly a surprise.

I think it’s one of the weaker songs on the album, but what do I know? Jive is the master of choosing hit songs for their young artists,   so I’m not even going to begin to question them.

I mean, they took S6 winner, Jordin Sparks, fresh off an Idol season with zero buzz, and turned her into a bonafide pop star. I bow to their magic touch.

“Crush” is currently #20 on the Billboard Hot 100.   It’s stalled on the charts the past few weeks, so I imagine Jive decided to move on to a new single sooner rather than later to take advantage of   David’s promo tour for the new album.

A couple of other Archie related items, after the JUMP…

David displays an eclectic taste in music when USA Today asks him What Are You Listening To?   He’s got the usual suspects, John Mayer, Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat on his list. But there are some surprising choices too–including two of my favs, Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush (!!!)   Plus, indie rock from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The White Stripes and Sufjan Stevens.   Interesting!

Also, check out this interview from Reuters.   David says he won’t be sitting at the piano for his upcoming appearances:

Right now, I’ve been more focused on making sure I am singing the songs as best as I can. I get a little nervous because you don’t know how well you are going to do. But it is so much fun when you are up on stage. You forget about your nerves because you are loving what you do.

There’s a new My Space blog where David goes into detail about the Jason Mraz concert he attended with Jason Castro.

And a reminder: David will be performing on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno later this evening…

Gee another single? Are you listening RCA?
Anyway, I am sure it will be big, no matter if it is one of the weaker singles. Archie’s got a fanbase eager and waiting for new material and teens and tweens love to download. Plus his material is a step above a lot of whats on the pop charts right now. If they have been testing then it must have gotten a decent response.
His management does seems to be following Jordin’s marketing path.

  • E

David’s blog always makes me lol, especially this one. he says enough about Mraz, then he goes on and on till the ps LOL! this is the new cool!

Touch my hand? hmmm I was hoping for Barriers, Your Eyes, desperate, ALNTOY, so many way better than TMH, but I guess Jive knows best. A risky choice.

  • ianamy

Second single? Yay! Great choice. I was wondering when they will get out a second single. Crush is not doing anything in radio right now.

  • Jabkmc

Only David Archuleta would slobber over himself, confess it to the world and spill the beans that there is an incriminating video of it somewhere. LOL!

  • IGetCranked

This song was low on my list for single material. Color me shocked about this decision.

That blog had me rolling! I can’t believe he told us that he slobbered! LOLOL

  • cruzceleste

Touch my hand? hmmm I was hoping for Barriers, Your Eyes, desperate, ALNTOY, so many way better than TMH, but I guess Jive knows best. A risky choice.

Thank you, I totally agree with you… but MJ is right WTH do I know about the music industry…

The blog is gold, he is totally a fan boy… and the roller coaster thing… he is totally teenager…

I have found so many songs that I like in his iPod, like Seven Nation Army, Drops of Jupiter, One Last Breath, Juanes (this a colombian singer, fun fact Jason Castro is a fan of him too, Me Enamoro and La Camisa Negra are really Cool songs)… surprise for me it that he has Grupo Limite (really Archie?) and La India (sorry Archie, IÂ ´m not going to back you up in that one)…

  • http://myspace.com/pm68 Pam

I’m listening to the full album preview now just realizing that mj had posted the alternative link since the first two didn’t work for me. oops lol From what I’ve heard so far, I really love it, but “Touch My Hand” would not have been my pick either.

That part in the blog about the slobber….priceless. :laugh_tb:

  • soundscene

Crush is not doing anything in radio right now.

That’s like saying TOML did nothing on radio when it peaked at #24 in pop. Crush is still climbing Hot AC and AC charts (it got the Airpower designation in Hot AC this week on Billboard). And it’s still in the top 15 on pop. It’s losing spins, but very slowly.

But yes, for CHR purposes, Jive is moving on, probably so that he will be a continual presence on the radio and, therefore, sell more albums. By the time this gets going, Crush will be down farther in the ranks in pop.

BTW, he sang Crush on the Tonight Show (which obviously hasn’t aired yet). Three guitarists, a keyboardist with dreadlocks, a drummer with a knit cap. One of the band members sang backup, and the song was, of course, changed up a bit. Info from Snarky Archies.

  • gerreb

I LOVE that blog….admitting he slobbered all over himself?? That is PRICELESS. I love how open he is about that kind of stuff, haha.
As for the single, I actually think it might do well. It’s pretty catchy. It’s not my favorite song on the album, but it seems to be gathering a positive response from non-fans.
Can’t wait to see the video from Leno, as i won’t be able to watch it live cause i have to work tonight. But I guess he was pretty nervous!

  • Tatiana

Gah, Jive, why?! I’m nervous. I think Barriers or A Little Too Not Over You would have been better choices. Seems like Jive may be trying to solidify his fan base with tween/teen girls rather than grow it. Thats too bad, Barriers or ALTNOY could have picked up all kinds of casual fans, IMO. :cry_wp:

  • leome

I think that is one of the most forgetable songs on the album, but I believe the people who got into Crush will like it too, for me is not as catchy as Crush but falls into the same category, so it’s a safe choice. It can do as good as Crush.

  • E

hmm seems like TMH is getting god response from nonfans, and those are not tweens, who knows it could do surprisingly well. if it does as well as Crush, then that means likely another platinum I should be happy

Can’t wait to watch the Leno show, and David and the band. An african american Jason Castro dreadlock on keyboard? haha I’m excited for the band now

Just finished reading the Snarky Archies blog… why IÂ ´m still so nervous… men IÂ ´m dying…Go Crush… Go David…

  • Jabkmc

Could they be releasing TMH now to keep him out there over the holidays when a lot of stations switch to Christmas music only? And then release another stronger song afterward? Just throwing it out there. I’ve never followed any of this stuff in my life. LOL!

TMH is a good song. It got a good response from non-fans, and older ones at that. It’s just that most didn’t consider it for a single because they were too busy fangirling over Barriers, Desperate or ALTNOY (me, included). Then again, hearing the whole album, I don’t know if I would have released Crush as a single (even though I love it). There are stronger songs, IMO.

TMH has a Coldplay/The Fray/OneRepublic/U2 vibe about it. His vocals are ethereal-sounding rather than R&B and run-laced, and it’s different enough from Crush that he won’t be pigeonholed. I’m not sure what Jive’s plans are, but unless they’ve adopted the Ne-Yo/TI plan of releasing a single every 1-2 months, I don’t think they’re just throwing this out there and backing off come February. My thought is that TMH probably got good scores in whatever survey or poll or test they were doing. And they probably didn’t rely on RateTheMusic. More likely they would look at Promosquad, which has people randomly rate songs (so you can’t spam it). Promosquad is where Billboard gets its Hit Predictor notations for songs that are predicted to be hits in a certain format. TMH and My Hands were on Promosquad. I’m guessing TMH did better, and good enough so that it probably got the Hit Predictor notation.

Why I can`t feel the vibe… sorry, you all know IÂ ´m a big Archie fan, but I think that TMH is not the right 2second single… is just like a song you sang at Camp… or in a workshop a school…. and I really think that the lyrics in My Hands are way cooler!!!!!!!!

    .

TMH has a Coldplay/The Fray/OneRepublic/U2 vibe about it.

I like TMH, and I think it is a very catchy song, but wow I didn’t get that vibe at all!

  • primeminister

Touch My Hand is one of the weaker songs on the album, in my opinion, and I’m supposedly in their target audience. It’s no “No Air,” that’s for sure.

I think My Hands and ALTNOY would be better singles.

  • cruzceleste

^I agree, My hands and ALTNOY are really cool songs…

Here is an video interview of David in the radio Bus… is really funny one

yes as in booklet for the cd

  • soundscene

I like TMH, and I think it is a very catchy song, but wow I didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t get that vibe at all!

I’m not the only one saying that. I’ve been around the interwebs and seen people talk about TMH (fans and non-fans alike)–the Coldplay comparison is the most common descriptor, followed by The Fray, then U2, then OneRepublic. Of course David’s voice is different, hence it’s a “vibe,” not a literal translation of their work. I think it’s the ethereal nature of the vocals, and the low-key pounding beat that builds. Frankly, the first time I heard the clip I thought Coldplay. Then I saw others saying the same thing and I knew I wasn’t crazy.

  • primeminister

Also, I think “Touch My Hands” is something that should be sung in concert and not chosen as a single to be pushed onto radio.

It doesn’t have that hook that MY or ALTNOY have, and I just don’t find it very exciting. I do not get a Coldplay/The Fray vibe at all.

ETA: Thanks for posting that link, frogcooke.

  • PCdoctor

I think TMH is a fairly good choice, like others have said , it doesn’t pigeonhole him as ALTNOY and MH are like Crush in musical styling. I also doubt that we’ll ever see a ballad single release from this album, that would just feed the media perception of him, just my guess. I don’t think Barriers,Running and Desparate have enough desired hook even tho Desperate in my opinion is the best song on the entire album. But then again, what do I know.

  • gerreb

It’s interesting that from the CD booklet….3 out of the 5 pics are of him NOT smiling, lol. But I do think all the pics look good!

  • qbaloo

I can hear abit of the U2 vibe in TMH, but just at the very end when the electric guitar fades out, LOL! But I do agree with alot of what soundscene said about the song be a good one, and that Jive is wisely going with a second single that has a different sound than Crush. I think it’ll make a better single than alot of fans think.

I’m a huge fan of David, but not so much into most pop…more of an alternative music and R B listener. I was pretty ambivalent about TMH when I first heard the leaked segments, but after hearing the whole thing, it’s stuck in my head. The opening verse isn’t anything special, but the song really picks up after that and as a whole, has alot more layers to it than a straight up pop track IMO. Just this morning the track came up on my iPod on random play sandwiched between Use Somebody (Kings of Leon) and Lovers in Japan (Coldplay) and it didn’t sound totally out of place.

There are certainly alot of different opinions on the fanboards from DA fans about what the best songs are, which is probably a good sign that the album has potential to appeal to a wider audience and hopefully there will be a handful of strong singles too.

I’m going to trust in the Jive machine and have faith that they’ve done their homework on picking this is the second single. My bet is that one of the ballads You Can and To Be With You will be released as single 3.

  • http://myspace.com/girlgeek mj

I’m not the only one saying that. I’ve been around the interwebs and seen people talk about TMH (fans and non-fans alike)–the Coldplay comparison is the most common descriptor, followed by The Fray, then U2, then OneRepublic.

I’m a fan of Coldplay/Fray/U2, and those bands did not come to my mind at all when I first heard the song. Listening to the song again, the piano parts in the chorus are reminiscent of the Fray or One Republic, perhaps, but I don’t get an overall “vibe” that reminds me of any of those bands. Plus, none of those artists would pen such teen-centered lyrics. And for me, the lyrics are front and center in this particular song.

To my ears, “Don’t Let Go” has more of an Adult Alternative vibe than “Touch My Hand”. I can hear that song playing on a triple-A station. “Touch My Hand” not so much.

  • soundscene

And for me, the lyrics are front and center as I listen to the song.

That’s the difference–I’m not a lyric person. I’m a melody person. It’s the first thing that catches me and, frankly, I’m not one to care what a song is about unless it’s (1) ridiculous, or (2) overly raunchy. So while the lyrics (which if you listen may be simple, but can apply to any performer, not just a teen) may not be Coldplay-esque (and I was never judging it based on lyrics anyway), I definitely think the beat and build of the song are reminiscent.

  • cruzceleste

Update from a FODer at Leno ´s taping:

    Hereà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a message from Richard:

David sounded GREAT!! He did fanstastic. There will be some licks that will give us the chills. But be aware that the show tonight is rated TV14. There might be some jokes, video thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s not appropriate for younger viewers.

Now, Tara filled me in on what you all want to knowà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦.how comfortable were the seats at the Leno show!! I kid! I have a report on what David was wearing. Sit down. Fitted, dark jeans, a blue and white checked shirt under a black sweater. Tara reported that he looked so happy and was amazing!

  • mac

I can hear abit of the U2 vibe in TMH, but just at the very end when the electric guitar fades out, LOL!

OK, I just listened again to the last 8 seconds of the song. Yes, you are right about where the guitar fades out. Does sound a bit like U2. So I guess if 8 seconds of a song sounds like U2, then it has a U2 vibe! :laugh_tb:

  • cruzceleste

Thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s the differenceà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m not a lyric person. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m a melody person. Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s the first thing that catches me and, frankly, Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m not one to care what a song is about unless ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s (1) ridiculous, or (2) overly raunchy. Sorry, most of the time I will agree with you, but TMH doesn ´t have that kind of feel to me, Coldplay- The Fray… I ´m a melody person too… actually I didn ´t care much for most of the lyrics after a third time listen to the song, but it doesn ´t sound like Coldplay at all… all at least please give us a song from those groups that is like TMH…

  • sma11ie

I’m a casual Top40 radio listener, and I think Touch My Hands is a good choice for a second single. It fits on the radio, is catchy, but has some cool elements (are those bells or timpani I hear?) and qualities that makes it stand out. I think Jive is being very smart with Archie, and TMH will do well, and help Archie keep building that pop (non-Idol) fanbase. Like Kirsten and some others have pointed out, labels for a lot of artists are releasing more singles with more frequency in this new environment, and I think it makes a lot of sense, particularly in pop.

  • Tatiana

Hm not sure about a U2/Coldplay vibe….maybe a Vanessa Carlton “1,000 miles” vibe?

  • khomphuong

Hey, watch David Archuleta interviewed w/ Bus Radio ..link here

  • http://myspace.com/girlgeek mj

    That’s the difference–I’m not a lyric person.

I’m not necessarily either. In this particular song, the lyrics jump out at me for some reason I can’t quite put my finger on.

Putting the lyrics aside, I’m still not getting a Coldplay vibe. Of course, YMMV and I’m not arguing with you as much as responding to the notion you’re putting forth that the majority of people on the interwebs come away from this song thinking it sounds like Coldplay. I just thought I’d throw in my two cents to say that I am not one of those people.

  • Deejay

Pshhhhh…”Touch My Hand”? They should have picked my jam, “Your Eyes Don’t Lie.”

“What we had was so speCIAL. People can be jealous, OH!”

LOL. That perhaps would have been a risky choice. :wink1_tb: “Desperate” would have worked. But I don’t question Jive either after the way they marketed Jordin so well.

ETA: Now that you mention it, I can hear a tinge of a TheFray/OneRepublic vibe musically in TMH, but it’s not strong enough that I would have come up with that comparison myself. I do agree with MJ that the lyrics (and something about the way he sings them) get in the way of that comparison for me. The lyrics stand out very much in TMH to me as well.

  • leome

I think Touch My Hand is another song marketed to the teens. I believe there are a couple of songs there that could actually be marketed to young adults, and I thought that would be the path of the second single, to try to extend the audience.
But TMH will bring the numbers, and that’s what Jive is thinking.
One of the other more mature could be more risky.

How many non-fans are listening to teh album and putting much thought into it anyway?
For what’s worth I think U2 and Coldplay have two different vibes, especially if you compare both band’s recent work. But nothing about TMH makes me think of those. I know everything Coldplay has ever put out, and there’s not one similar sound.

But I also read Barriers was Bob Marley meets No Doubt… so I guess it’s all a matter of opinion and ears.

  • cruzceleste

^^” I can see it in your eyes you are still in love with me,
you were never really out of love with me…
you are eyes don ´t lie….”

    Love that song!!!!

  • Tatiana

OMG I adore Your Eyes Don’t Lie.

what about when he goes “mmm, yeah”!!!

  • cruzceleste

^ I want to whistle to that song live….

  • sidewalk

TMH wouldn’t be my top choice, but I think it’s a good one and I trust Jive…they are marketing geniuses from what I’ve seen so far…also, I think it makes sense to release TMH next because it will coincide with his tour…it’s definitely a good song for that!!!

  • abbysee

I don’t think it’s a bad choice. I don’t think it will hurt, or derail sales. I don’t know who it sounds like, all I know is that when I heard it, it sounded like something I could listen to on the radio and not switch the station. I think Jive knows what it’s doing. I think him watching performing this is going to be fun.

  • cheese

There will be some licks that will give us the chills.

LOL, at first I thought David went back to lip-licking and I got really grossed out.

On TMH, I think out of the whole CD, I liked two songs, but picked this one as a “guilty pleasure” song. I don’t objectively like it, but I sort of enjoy the pounding beat as my IQ drops from the lyrics. It made me think about Hilary Duff for some reason. I think this was one of the two songs my kid liked, but she also just liked the beat and thought the lyrics were “really young.” She’s 10. The lyrics probably would not matter to Top 40 listeners. Hell, I’ve caught myself singing along to some pretty stupid stuff.

I guess I also appreciate the uncluttered vocal – I never quite believed that Archie would get so overwrought about his imaginary Crush. I much prefer the falsetto to runs and “licks” and other showy stuff.

Finally, I agree that Jive will achieve Archie World Domination with just about any song. They definitely do their research.

  • frogcooke

Cheese his falsetto is lovely! Love it!

  • cruzceleste

So Leno is over, what do you guys think?
    I like it!!!!!

  • gerreb

I’m so happy I got to see David perform tonight…i thought i was gonna miss it due to work, but I got the night off! Whoo hoo!
Anyways, I thought David sounded great on Leno tonight…and his stylist did a great job picking out an outfit, he looked great!

  • caringgirl

I thought david was great on leno, but I wish jay would have talked to him..Archie is adorable

  • cruzceleste

^Me too!!!! I wanted an interview… but I don ´t think the masturbation turtles is a subject that David wants to adress lol

  • abbysee

He was incredible. What will never disappoint his fans is that David sounds as close to his cds but changes it up. He doesn’t need alot of enhancements and stuff to make him sound good. His lower register is so husky, I like it! Good job David.

I remember a long time ago people use to hate going on Arsenio Hall’s now defunct talk show because he did not allow lip syncing. One night some R&B flava of the month came on his show and just stunk up the place. He tried to play it off, but he was baffled, and it pretty much sunk her career, because she had basically been outed as just another fortified in the studio but live wreck. That is one thing that never will get these idols, because you have to be able to sing live, bare bones and all. David is proof of that. His falsettos are great!

  • LK08

Ok, you guys are really going to find this strange, but I don’t have a clue what coldplay or U2 (I know, I know) sound like. I guess I need to educate myself. The vibe I heard from Touch My hand is a Beatles vibe. On another board, someone else said the same thing.

  • mac

David did a great job on leno. The new band sounded really good also.

  • frogcooke
  • smacri

Hey, I just wanted to say, as far as Touch my Hand, I’m a perfect example of someone who is not a fan of Archie’s music. Not into that style at all. I lean more towards the rock/alternative vibe. But I heard TMH in that minute and a half leak a while ago and for some reason I was a little obsessed with it! I heard the whole song, and I like it, and I generally don’t like anything on Archie’s album from the samples I’ve heard. But I’ve been playing TMH over and over. I think it’s mostly the beat that gets me, and that Coldplay/OneRepublic vibe people are talking about. Which makes sense. Since the only thing I REALLY loved that he did on Idol was the OneRepublic duet on “Appologize”.

So anyway, just wanted to reassure people that as far as TMH reaching people who are generally not fans of the rest of his music, it’s TRUE! There’s something about that song.. So that might be most of its appeal to the record company on why they wanted to release it.

  • Deejay

The band was pretty rockin’ on Leno…I dig that more than the album version of “Crush.”

  • frogcooke

Aside from a slight case of bandzilla, haha It was great!

  • http://myspace.com/girlgeek mj

Frogcooke, I hear you about the bandzilla…Yikes!

I’ll have the video up in a bit….

  • cheese

The verses were a little rocky to my ears but he definitely pulled it off. I liked his guitarist. I definitely prefer the band version.

frogcooke – yeah, I think it was nerves. Hopefully he wasn’t practically puking like Cook was on SNL!

  • frogcooke

YEah Cheese I think he was a bit nervous, who wouldnt be lol

  • terps

the band adds a rock fell to it

  • toma

You could tell David was all nerves at the end. He kept shaking his hands to what I think was relax himself. lol He did a really GREAT job though! That is one tough song to sing.

I think those small venues will always have a case of bandzilla. I enjoyed the band though. Made David look all official and everything. :wub_tb:

  • gabam

I think that Archie did very well. This was the first time that he sung it in front of a huge audience so I can understand him being nervous but people who did not watch Idol or didn’t pay attention to him on the show, would not be able to tell that he was nervous, IMO. Rock on Archie!

  • http://myspace.com/girlgeek mj

I just put up a post with the video…

  • proudmom

David did a great job on Leno. I do wish he’d moved around the stage a bit. He was clutching the microphone for dear life! So cute. And I happened to notice that a couple of his bandmates are easy on the eyes!

  • toma

    MJ,

David’s CD liner images can be found at http://www.snarkyarchies.com/2008/11/cd-booklet-pics.html.

TMH has a Coldplay/The Fray/OneRepublic/U2 vibe about it. His vocals are ethereal-sounding rather than R&B and run-laced, and ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s different enough from Crush that he wonà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t be pigeonholed.

I agree the part about his vocals being ethereal-sounding and I like it (lyrics notwithstanding…YIKES!) for it’s bounciness but COLDPLAY and U2? Lmao.

My choice for the next single would be My Hands. It’s becoming my favorite song from the album, taken over ALNTOY. I think it’s actually a song that can appeal to both teens and adults.

  • cruzceleste

Bluejeans… My Hands is my obsesion right now, I swear I listen to it like twenty times yesterday…. but funny enough today whrn I woke up the song that I was singing was ALTNOY….

Like many here, TMH would not have been my first choice. But it is a good solid song and I would not worry about it too much. I trust in Jive. They’ve proved to me that they know what their doing. As suggested up thread, maybe the plan is to release a single like every other month or so. Since a lot of radio stations will be switching over to playing a bunch of Christmasy type music anyway, then its probably a good idea to start of with one of the weaker songs. Save the good stuff for after Christmas. And I also agree with what someone else said that its release will fall right in line with all the Jingle Balls/Jams performances. It’s perfect for the live stage and the fan girlies will eat it up. Having said all that, does anyone know if this choice as the 2nd single is chiseled in stone? December 9th is still a whole month away. I imagine that Jive could a have a change of heart if it hears enough dissenting commentary from the fans.

I agree the part about his vocals being ethereal-sounding and I like it (lyrics notwithstandingà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦YIKES!) for ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s bounciness but COLDPLAY and U2? Lmao.

Well, you know, people can laugh at me or disagree–I just know I’m not the only one saying it. By “vibe” I mean just that… “vibe.” Not exactness, not sameness, “vibe,” a reminder.

soundscene, I wasn’t really laughing AT you. Because I really can’t see it, I found it funny. Hope you’re not offended. (:

cruzceleste: Yup, ALNTOY has a great hook that just gets stuck in my head. I love everything about ALNTOY (especially the last chorus, his voice sounds sublime) except the eh-eh-eh-oh bit. That really bugs. That’s why My Hands is a better song imo. I have it on a loop. The funny thing is, when I first heard the 30 sec clips, I didn’t like My Hands. Sometimes hearing the whole song does the trick. Unfortunately, I still can’t bring myself to like Barriers.

Bringing back to the second single, I guess I can sort of see why Jive would chose Touch My Hand but it’s not the best song on his album and I can’t get over the lyrics.

    No, I’m not. :)

Well, TMH is quite catchy song with nice beat, very radio-friendly. It’s not my favourite, though. Think, there are much better songs on the album. Having said that I’ll stick with Jive and just trust them. They’ve been right so far with Jordin and with Crush, so I believe the choice was made with consideration of the music market.

I don’t know what a jingle ball/jam is exactly, but if it involves performances in front of a live audience, then Touch My Hand would be a pretty good choice. I can easily imagine him interacting with fans while moving around on the stage and maybe reaching out his hand or pointing towards the audience (if jingle ball/jams are set up in such a way to do that). That song could be a lot of fun in that setting. (the setting in my imagination that is, lol).

I was hoping for A little Not Too Over You as the next single but I can see where Touch My Hand is the right choice. He’ll be singing it on tour in the winter/spring, right? It’ll be getting airplay right then. I wonder if they’ll have him sing on AI as a guest this year?

This is my first time posting here but had to tell Soundscene that we may have the same auditory genetic disorder since TMH sounds Coldplay-e to me as well. I don’t really dig U2 too much so not sure abot that. Whenever I read Soundscene’s coments they resonate cause I am all about sound, lyrics come later.

Btw, I am 21 from Princeton, NJ, play piano and love music from Bocelli to Snow Patrol. My fave is pop and which I figured is considered a lesser genre, lol.
