Update: David just posted a new My Space blog. Ha ha!!! Check it out HERE. He finished filming the video for “A Little Too Not Over You” this week, and he lost his cell phone on the way to tape a segment at Disney World, in Orlando. Plus, he ran into David Cook in front of “The Pirates of the Caribbean.” Reunion!

David Archuleta performed at the Holiday of Hope Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Hollywood and Highland Center in Los Angeles last night.   The event benefited One Heartland.

David performed for the crowd, and helped Santa light the Christmas tree.   He also performed at a special VIP reception before the tree lighting.

Videos are turning up, and the best seems to be from Jwipe.   After the Jump, David performs a lovely “O Holy Night” at the VIP reception plus an interview with Maximo TV.

More videos: Crush, A Little Too Not Over You, Angels, A Thousand Miles, Silent Night, Happy Birthday (to David), Imagine, David And Santa.

After winding up his Holiday of Hope performances, David made his way over to Anaheim for the KIIS-FM Jingle Ball. He and Michael Johns were in the audience rocking out to Rihanna, Chris Brown, Katy Perry and others. Video evidence, right HERE.

Videos after the JUMP…

O Holy Night:

I guess I will repost here:

David and MJ at the Jingle Ball

Ans he was on fired yesterday, between ATM and HN… all his performanced were amazing…

    Good Job Archie…
and how cute he and Santa…

  • IGetCranked

I couldn’t understand what was said in the video Cruzceleste but it was nice seeing him and Michael J. together again!

David’s voice is just amazing.. I am just blown away here. I will be buying a Christmas cd from him next year. I just know it. I loved A Thousand Miles too!

Thanks for the nice tidy post MJ! There were so many videos last night that you didn’t know where to turn first. lol

  • ozarka

    duplicate. sorry.

  • ozarka

Here’s a second part to that MaximoTV interview. He talks about Star Search and AI.

  • Trina

Has anyone made an MP3 of OHN? That is gorgeous! I would love to have it on my iPod. OOOHH A Thousand Miles is beautiful too. OMG I’m getting a little fangirly for Archie :laugh_tb:

  • IGetCranked

*L* Trina! But oh my! I haven’t heard vocals like that for a pop star in a long time. It is just insane.. Oh Holy Night is jaw dropping and the Silent Night Acappela… whoa so pretty.

  • Jabkmc

    Trina – Here’s OHN

    http://www.sendspace.com/file/j4716i

That’s all I’ve found so far. I’ll post ATM when I see it.

  • lefty

“O Holy Night” just left a big lump in my throat. Wow. So lovely. Pop stars singing Christmas carols often bug the heck out of me, but THIS. is how it’s done.

I’m so happy that there wasn’t a lot of fangirly screaming during this performance. A giant “WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” when he hit that beautiful high note would have really ruined it for me.

  • IGetCranked

Lefty, David can do Christmas carols because he really feels it and means it besides the beautiful vocals. I agree with you about other pop stars.

  • lefty

IGC, you’re right. It’s hard to stay true to the original carol without leaving it bland and flat. What sets David apart in general is his ability to convey emotion so well when he sings, but with Christmas carols it’s an extra-special gift.

  • ozarka

Another video has surfaced from the Osmond concert. They’re singing “Silent Night” for the finale.

Unfortunately, you have to wait until 3:21 before Archie appears. That’s when you start to hear all the screaming. The blond lady gives him the microphone, but he continually tries to give it back to her. He realizes that this show is not about him, but about the Osmonds. He’s just so humble that way.

  • khomphuong

I was there to “witness” the whole event. I have to tell ya that i got chill when he sang A thousand Miles and Silent Night. Pitch PERFECT . I am look forward for his Xmas Album next year and hopefully he will have a xmas conert..I can sit there and listen to him singing xmas songs whole day.

  • Trina

    Jabkmc, thank you so much!

  • frogcooke

His silent night off the cuff was amazing!! I still love love OHN!

Trina and Lefty, thank you for your comments and is not that bad getting all fan girl over Archie, it could be worst…

Thank you for the MP3 Jab

  • IdolFanatic

These are awesome! Thank you so much for posting! I LOVED how he totally turned into a flirt in the middle of Crush. This boy is something else! :wub_tb:

  • http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/profile.php?id=587900002&ref=name cruzceleste

Jab, those where made by Rodze???

  • Tess

It’s amazing when you watch the videos to see the instantaneous transformation from Archie the “kid” to David Archuleta “performer extraordinaire”. He has a stage presence that many seasoned entertainers would only dream about. Not only does he connect to the song but he forms an instant re-pore with his audience. The vibe that David exhudes, when he is singing live, is one of pure joy and contentment. He doesn’t seem to be concerned about whether he is hitting all the notes or phrasing correctly, and I really don’t think he cares about “putting on a show”. What he does, so much better than most current young singers out there, is draw his audience into the song and forcing them to react instead of just listen. When a singer can put a smile on your lips, a tear in your eye, tug at your heart and stir your soul all at the same time…that is pure Talent!

    Way to go David Archuleta!

  • Jabkmc

Cruz – Not sure. I was half asleep when I posted those.

ETA: – went and checked. Yes, they are Rodze’s. Thanks Rodze of IDF.

  • IdolFanatic

He really already has ALTNOY nailed down! I was concerned about it because it sounds like it’s wicked hard to sing, even more so than Crush, but man, he just kicks butt! He always puts a little something extra in it too that you don’t get from the recorded version.

  • http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/profile.php?id=587900002&ref=name cruzceleste

    Cruz – Not sure.

Oh thank you… I will like to know witch sound editor he use to reduce the noise… guess I will hace to ask him…

  • spencer
  • sabby_rina

Oh man I wish people at church sang O Holy Night like that. We get stuck with singers who can’t even carry a tune. *shivers*

  • Jabkmc

Spencer – the last photo is the one that they used for the T-shirts for the Jingle Balls.

  • abbysee

He’s just incredibly gifted. O Holy Night was stellar.

  • IdolFanatic

Just finished watching all of them ending with Angels and WOW! I got chills! I never tire of hearing him sing that song, ever. You even tell how much richer and more full and resonate his voice has become even since Idol.

  • spencer

Jabkmc – I thought so but wasn’t sure. Thanks! Dang! I would love to get my hands on one of those shirts–unfortunately doesn’t look like I will be going to the Z100 Jingle Ball unless my luck turns and I win tickets–have been entering everyday to win. Think it’s possible they might sell merch online at anytime?

  • ozarka

Some sweet pics of David at the Anaheim Jingle Ball where he made an appearance yesterday.

More pics from the Holiday of Hope tree lighting ceremony.

  • Jabkmc

Spencer – I’m sure they will at some point. Not sure about that particular shirt though. But, I’d keep my eye on eBay if you really want one. Or if you know a friend or an online friend who’s going to a Jingle Ball, maybe they will pick one up for you. You might post at FOD or in the DA forum at IDF. A lot of the Archies are really accommodating and willing to help out. See if anyone would be willing to do that for you.

  • spencer

Thanks Jabkmc for the tips definitely will look check them out!

  • lefty

is not that bad getting all fan girl over Archie, it could be worstà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦

No worries, I’m a huge fan (I just don’t post often) – it’s just that I don’t like screaming during Christmas carols. It bugged me during the Osmonds footage. The two just don’t go together for me. :biggrin_wp:

  • frogcooke

DAvid has a new myspace blog up. Talks about jingle jams he’s going to, disney world and meeting cook at pirates of the caribbean, losing his iphone on the plane, the tree lighting and the kiss jingle ball. and yeah haha

  • lefty

LOL … I just read over my posts on this thread and evidently I am very uptight about my Christmas music. Having said that, I just had time to listen to “Silent Night” and, well, I have nothing to say. Just gorgeous.

  • ozarka

It bugged me during the Osmonds footage. The two just donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t go together for me.

Do you mean Osmonds and David or screaming and David (while singing carols)? Either way I agree. LOL!

  • Jabkmc

David Archuleta blogs are just full of WIN!

  • lefty

Do you mean Osmonds and David or screaming and David (while singing carols)? Either way I agree. LOL!

LOL! I actually meant screaming and Christmas carols, but now that you mention it … :biggrin_wp:

  • JudyOhio

lefty……I so agree about screaming during Christmas carols. It’s really annoying and, to me, in bad taste. Screaming during Amazing Grace was pretty weird to me also.

  • Lexus

Wow! I’d put David’s version of OHN up against anyones and bet he’d win hands down. He sings it so effortlessly and yet it’s a pretty tough one to pull off.

David continues to impress me. There are a lot of great singers out there so I often wonder why I, like others, am so drawn to David in particular. I don’t know which pulls me more strongly – his talent or his happy-go-lucky, sweet, genuine personality. Together they’re simply a winning combination.

  • http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/profile.php?id=587900002&ref=name cruzceleste

lol…. the part about his phone going to Vancouver is gold, IÂ ´m dying lol … whonder if he got his iPhone back… I love his blogs…

  • lefty

Screaming during Amazing Grace was pretty weird to me also.

Yeah, Judy, that bugged me too. (I’d feel the same way about certain non-religious songs, by the way.)

  • JudyOhio

Same here lefty, I feel like that about any song that has a strong message. There are just some songs that are meant to be listened to from beginning to end lyrically. Otherwise, it interupts the flow and the meaning is lost, imo. I know when I listen to soft classical music, I don’t want to be shocked suddenly with a loud, fast classical. Messes with my mellow mood at the time, lol. Other songs not meant to be screamed during are Imagine, Hallelujah, The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, In The Ghetto, etc., etc. Heck, I can think of many, many more, but you get my drift. If one is totally appreciative of one of those type songs, they can always wait until the end and perhaps give a standing ovation for their gratitude of a particular song performance. The thing with a pop or rock artist though is that the scream or woooo isn’t necessarily about the song, but about the excitement they feel about the artist singing a particularly high, long, or soaring note or giving a little smile or whatever at the time. But, people are people, what can ya do, lol.

  • lefty

I do, Judy, and you can sit next to me at a concert anytime. :smile_wp:

  • ozarka

Archie’s blogs are always so sweet and often funny.

Hi everyone. I just wanted to let everyone know about how the first radio show went! The first Jingle Ball was in Sacramento, and it was AMAAZZIINNGGG!!! I couldn’t believe how exciting it was! The other acts that were there were Jesse McCartney, Katy Perry, Boys Like Girls, and Shontelle. It was neat to have Shontelle there because I became friends with her at the Macy’s Parade haha. Go familiar faces!

“Go familiar faces!” That cracked me up! :lol_tb:

I lost my phone 2 days ago lol. That wasn’t nearly as fun and exciting as the other things, but oh well I guess. I’m pretty sure I left it on the plane, but they wouldn’t let me back on the airplane because the next destination it was going was an international flight to Vancouver. I guess you can’t go on the plane if it’s international because of security reasons or something. I couldn’t do anything about it either because we had to catch another flight going to Orlando, so I went to Orlando as my phone went to Vancouver. I’m actually kinda envious that my phone got to go to Vancouver before I did. I wish I went too lol.

Sad about his iPhone. Gosh… what if someone gets a hold of his personal contact numbers and stuff? I do hope that the airline has good enough sense to find it and return it to him, considering that he’s such a high profile VIP.

  • JudyOhio

Oops, forgot to comment on the Oh Holy Night. Well, outstanding is all I can say. Just a piano and the singer, now that’s difficult, nothing to cover any errors. Beautiful job David.

  • lefty

Sad about his iPhone. Goshà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ what if someone gets a hold of his personal contact numbers and stuff?

I know … someone could have a total field day reading his email, looking at his photos, etc. I hope it fell into the right hands.

  • JudyOhio

Surely, they got the message to the plane that his iPhone was left on it. Seems they’d just know to send it back in and store it in a secure place or have some place where items left on a plane would go (like a lost and found?). lol, I dunno. I don’t know how it’s done these days, but an iPhone is a pretty important (and personal) thing to have laying around unattended. Can imagine TMZ might be looking for it, lol…….ya think?

  • sue

Whoever has his phone, please return it. I doubt it though, it will probably be on ebay in a few days, j/k. Whoever has the phone is having a field day looking at all the personal info. Well his performance of “Imagine” just made me tear up again, that boy is just too much. All of his performances were spectacular, I can’t believe his voice is getting stronger. I thought his voice would be a bit tired but man am I wrong. “A Thousand Miles” is 100 times better than his earlier youtube performance. I am just amazed on how comfortable he is on stage.

  • lefty

What I loved about “A Thousand Miles” is that he looked like he was just up there enjoying himself, not taking it too seriously. Even when he paused a bit with the keyboard here and there, he looked like he was chuckling to himself. He looks like he’s having the time of his life and it makes it even more fun to watch him (if that’s possible).

  • frogcooke

Awww daivd just did tmh, wfm, you can, altnoy crush and silent night at the texas jingle jam

  • abbysee

How long before we get video. Certainly earlier than last night. I’ve got time. LOL!

  • JudyOhio

Oh wow, frogcookie, I was just over at rickey.org and caught altnoy, crush, and silent night. I thought those were the only 3 he sang. He sang tmh, wfm, and you can also????

  • http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/profile.php?id=587900002&ref=name cruzceleste

Wonder if Jason Castro was there???? and Jacky???

  • frogcooke

yup judy, its the same set he did in sacramento, except he threw in the silent night bit.

  • JudyOhio

I’m looking forward to video on these. I’m hoping he had a real good screaming reaction throughout like he did in Sacramento! Anxious to see.

  • LK08

ozarka- fantastic interview. This kid just amazes me. He doesn’t want to be greedy!!

  • lefty

That rockerrazzi interview was terrific. David seems so much more confident these days.

He doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t want to be greedy!!

So cute … and very wise. He probably realizes that no matter what he says he wants, fans will try to get for him. As we speak, iPhones are probably being purchased for him by fans.

But I also think he just doesn’t want much. He’s living his dream and he seems pretty satisfied with that. :smile_wp:

  • Kris

edit: I can’t get the link to work.

  • LK08

But I also think he just doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t want much. Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s living his dream and he seems pretty satisfied with that.

lefty- I think you are right. I don’t think David ever wanted much, even before he started all of this.

  • ozarka

Kris, try this link for the RockerRazzi interview…

lefty- I think you are right. I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think David ever wanted much, even before he started all of this.

All he ever wanted was to have a career making music and singing. That was his dream. He doesn’t ask for anything else.

Nice interview with KIIS FM from last night…

Is a great interview, David looks really natural and confident… and he is funny…they give him play doh

  • Kris

That is the interview, cruzceleste. I agree that it is a great one. David did seem very natural and comfortable taking with Jojo.

  • ozarka

At Wikipedia, if you look up the phrase “excited state,” you’ll see a picture of David Archuleta. :laugh_tb:

  • JudyOhio

That was an interesting find ozarka! lol

Frogcooke – Snarky’s has a better version up. Amy was there in the 4th row center. So I expect some pretty good vids from her.

  • frogcooke

yeah hahaha she just put it up lol

  • Chiqui

Impressive versions of timeless Christmas songs. and Thousand Miles!! … Archuleta’s vocals are just so perfect for ballads and Christmas songs. Not so sure if this view is popular but I really think that Archuleta is the younger version of Josh Groban and should record songs that are more appropriate for his type of vocals. He appears to be extremely more comfortable and convincing emoting ballads than the pop songs he is singing in his album. (IMO) But regardless — I still love him as a very talented artist.

  • khomphuong

^ I agree w/ u that he is more comfortable w/ ballads than when he sings pop . Still when he sings Pop songs LIVe, he is WAY BETTER than most of current pop singers.

This is cute review of the Tree Lighting Ceremony:

David Archuleta is so sweet and was genuinely appreciative of his fans. Very nice. People gave him flowers. While giving interviews (pictured at left, being interviewed by me), he made sure to wave to his fans. The American Idol star said going from being a regular teen to one of the most recognized teens was à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“pretty interesting. At the beginning of the year, I could just go out and eat, hang out at the mall, whatever with my friends. Now, ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s not exactly the same case.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ He laughed, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s more running. You get quite a workout. Usually ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s okay.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ Last week, one fan came up to him and starting kissing him. He laughed again. à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Usually fans are pretty great. Theyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢re really good and supportive. They enjoy what you do.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬

    David performed (pictured at right) à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“A Little Too Not Over You,à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Imagine”, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Silent Night,à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Crush,à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ and à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“A Thousand Milesà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ (by Vanessa Carleton). When I got home, I promptly bought Davidà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s album off of Amazon. He was very passionate about what he does and had very good stage presence.

And for my matchmaking fun, Jeanetter McCurdy from iCarly was there. And Miranda was at the Jingle Jam… lol this three are fun… haha

I foresee a scrappy cat fight between those 2 girls over David. If they were chummy with each other, wouldn’t they have gone together to watch their David? :laugh_tb:
