David Archuleta continued his Christmas radio tour in Chicago IL last night (I’m reading there was a snowstorm in the area). He shared the stage with Rihanna, Jesse McCartney, Shontelle and Kevin Rudolph.

    I love that David has sung such a variety of Christmas songs over the past couple of weeks. His versions of all these songs have been absolutely fabulous. I certainly hope he puts out a Christmas album next year – I’m sure it would be a smash.

    That’s a great interview you linked, frogcooke. He sounds happy and relaxed. I’m sure that as much fun as he’s having, he’s probably looking forward to having some downtime at home with his family and friends.

    I love that he is singing all these Christmas songs a capella. Really shows off his voice. Wonder what he’ll sing tonight? All indications are he has had a BLAST, but, yeah, I bet he can’t wait for some downtime with the fam.

    That’s a NoGo. I live near Kansas City and several of us were considering making the drive to see David, even if he wasn’t performing. I contacted the event coordinator for the KC Metro Area Toys4Tots, and he knew nothing of David making an appearance in conjunction with T4T. Another person contacted the affiliated radio station and was told ‘this event will not be happening.’ I don’t know if this was a possible event that didn’t mesh out or simply a miscommunication, but I don’t think it is happening. It was once on David’s ning site and has now been removed.

    There certainly was a snowstorm! It took people hours upon hours to get there- one person told us that it took them an hour to get to their hotel down the street. It was so bad that by showtime, there were more empty seats than there were full ones- people slowly started coming in by the time David was on, and it was definatley more full by Jesse. Chris Brown was there as well, but my friend and I left before him and Rhianna because we both were not feeling well.

    David was awesome!! He is such a better performer than he used to be, the Idol Tour definatley helped him out. He had very good crowd interaction and seemed so happy to be on that stage. He sang “Touch My Hand” , “Works for Me”, “A Little Too Not Over You”, “A Thousand Miles”, “Crush”, and “White Christmas”, which was outstanding. I went with a friend and we were basically just there to see him, and he did not disappoint!

    IÂ ´m so sad that this is the last Jingle Ball….well I guess I will have to focus in my real life with D doing concerts every night… sad… maybe he will blog about his vacation…

    Archuleta or Efron – Who’d You Rather?

    Last night I went out with some friends for dinner and a cocktail, or seven, and we got to playing Would You Rather. After a few rounds that included lines of questioning like, “Would you rather have no arms or no legs?” my friend Brian asked, “Would you rather look like David Archuleta or Zac Efron?” Obviously the debate quickly turned from “Who would you rather look like” to “Who would you rather date.”

    I was team Efron, Brian was team Archuleta while the rest of our tablemates were firmly split down the middle. This is when things got interesting, because strangers sitting around us started to chime in, unprovoked, to our conversation. Apparently when discussing tween stars, people can’t help but weigh in on the matter. And wouldn’t you know it, by the time the evening was over and our margarita glasses were empty, the votes had been tallied and Archuleta came out on top – in a big way.

    We’re talking like 60/30 in David’s favor, which is surprising only because I always thought he was more Kewpie doll cute than universally sexy. Clearly I was wrong. So now I am bringing the debate to the interweb — which team would you belong to: Archuleta or Efron?

    I’m gonna miss all the Jingle Ball videos. But it’s good he’s finally getting a chance to rest.

    And seriously, he NEEDS to record a Christmas album next year. It’s a necessity. He must. If ever there’s a voice made for Christmas songs, it’s David’s. lol.
