Colton Dixon – “Never Gone” Music Video

Colton Dixon has released the music video for his song “Never Gone.”

The song, from the American Idol season 11 alum’s debut album The Messenger, has topped the Christian Hot AC/CHR chart for a second week in a row.

In the video, a son reunites with his father after being estranged for many years. The story is intercut with Colton performing at a piano and with his band.

I’m happy for Colton, good for him.
But is this video a bit too dramatic?

  • Patroo

    Nice video, powerful storyline.

    made me cry :)

Musically I thought I preferred the Idol production with Angie a little better, however, this was pretty good. The lyric/song is great without the drama of the video but it’s well done.

Love the video. Great song. God bless Colton. <3

This is really good. Though I am not into this type of music, I see why this is topping the chart. Very well written, well sang, very memorable. Colton is a memorable guy, too. Congratulations, and I wish him many more hits to follow. Season 11 was a good year.

Angie can only dream of delivering as powerful and heartfelt performance/production as Colton did.

Actually that was meant as a compliment so I’m not sure why you felt the un-Colton like comment was necessary. He liked her rendition.

So nice to see an Idol alumni who stuck to his roots and went on to be successful in his chosen genre. Too many chose or were forced into the same old generic post-idol debuts and flamed out as a result. Colton may never see the success of a true pop superstar but he has commanded respect within his own genre and should be able to sustain a career. And what more can a musician ask for?!
