vb2_2183Dear God. When does Glee star, Chris Colfer find time to eat? sleep? BREATHE? He just released a children’s book, The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell, which debuted at #1 on The New York Times Children’s Books list, and is currently working on a sequel due out next summer.

But somehow–in addition to starring as the out-and-proud Kurt Hummel on Glee– he found the time to write a book adaption of his movie, Struck by Lightning (yeah…he wrote THAT too) due out later this year. The upcoming young adult novel, titled Struck by Lightning: The Carson Phillips Journal, will be released via audiobook, ebook and print on November 20th.

The book isn’t a straight adaption. Chris, from a press release, explains, “When production wrapped, I wasn’t ready to say good-bye to these characters and was thrilled when Little, Brown asked me to adapt the story into a novel. I felt the best way to tell Carson’s story was through his critical eyes in a journal.”

He further described the book as “a story about adolescence, told through the eyes of a teenager, for other teenagers.”

Struck By Lightning follows the story of outcast high school senior Carson Phillips, who blackmails the most popular students in his school into contributing to his literary journal to beef up his college application. His goal in life is to get into Northwestern and eventually become the editor of The New Yorker.

In addition to Chris, the film stars Allison Janney, Christina Hendricks, Dermot Mulroney, Sarah Hyland, and Polly Bergen. Struck By Lightning had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in April.

The new season of Glee begins on FOX September 13.

Well, Chris thinks that his well of fortune will dry up at the age of 25 so he is just striking the iron when hot…No wonder he is single right now… well at least he has Ashley Fink (Lauren Zizes in Glee) as his BFF…
