Carrie Underwood performed at the Palace Theater in Melbourne Australia today and in an attempt to make friends with the folks down under, she covered a song by a native band.

Watch Carrie belt out “Never Tear Us Apart” by INXS below. What do you think? Did Carrie make some new pals? (I think so!)

    my typical reaction as freaking usual… huh, so the INXS are from Australia? *facepalm*

    otherwise I say well done but somehow I don´t think this song suits her voice..

    Poor Oz. They don’t get credit for most of the great people and stuff they produce because everybody forgets who and what comes from there. (other than kangaroos and koalas) ….

    INXS’ main song… Carrie did fine, but it just doesn’t fit.  In fact, I don’t see any of their songs fitting anybody but JD.

    I thought she did a great job.  I listened to Inxs do this song, then  listened to Carrie again.  She nailed it especially the second stanza.  WOW! Major wow voice there (1:13 in the video-2:15) After that it’s about the same as Inxs, then she added a cheesy ending which kinda ended dumb considering the beginning was great!

    Love INXS and love that song!  Too bad they and JD had to part ways.  He really fit in with them vocally.

    I love Carrie but the only voice I could ever hear singing this song or any INXS song for that matter is Michael Hutchence. JD was good but not great like MH.

    I love this song, especially the original! Michael Johns also covered this song a couple of times acoustically and I thought he was great – stripped down and soulful…links here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGl3TmrHic8 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nEXouu6yGc  I thought Carrie did a pretty good job of it, though. I’m not really a fan of hers since I don’t listen to country music, but she’s got a good voice. Nice!
