From Windmills in yesterday’s comments: Here’s an update from Carrie Underwood on her upcoming album. The Season 4 Idol winner posted the deets on her fan club forum yesterday:

Yesterday [Friday] was her last official studio day for her 4th album. She has finished recording vocals except for one background vocal part. Producer Mark Bright and mixer/engineer Derek Bason are going to work on the songs now and Carrie will be listening to everything over the holidays. She doesn’t know the album release date so anything that’s going around now (like May 1st) is just a rumor. The photo shoot she did this week was for the single cover and may be part of the album artwork packaging too.

They’ve narrowed down the lead single to 2 songs: one that she got early in the process of making the album and one she cowrote recently that blew everybody away. She’s pretty sure she’s got the album title down too.

This probably doesn’t mean anything but the 2 most recent Carrie cowrites (out of the 41 new cowrites registered this era) registered are:

The Riverbank Song (Carrie, Ashley Gorley, Kelley Lovelace)
1989 (Carrie, David Hodges, Steve McEwan)

Carrie cowrote All American Girl from Carnival Ride and Lauren Alaina’s Eighteen Inches with Ashley Gorley and Kelley Lovelace. She cowrote What Can I Say from Play On with David Hodges and Steve McEwan.
