After watching Nicki Minaj in this new video from rapper, B.o.B., I’m hoping even harder that her deal to sit on the American Idol judges’ panel goes through.

She will bring the lulz, the wack and the cray cray, just like she does on B.o.B.’s music video for his new song, “Out of my Mind.”

Warning: A million F bombs, use of the N word.

Warning: A million F bombs, use of the N word.

    … no thanks.

As some one who listens to a lot of Hip-Hop, I gotta say both the song and video are really good! Top notch video

I think that Strange Clouds is the best album of the year, but this isn’t one of the best songs from it.  I think his label is releasing it just because of Nicki’s popularity.

Nicki Minaj also released a video today for her new single. It’s only on Vevo.  Like the label says, it is explicit.  http://www.vevo.com/watch/nicki-minaj/i-am-your-leader-explicit/USCMV1200108

I agree and this video is actually one of the most interesting hip hop videos I’ve seen because most of them are just boring and the same old same old concept.

  • callmecrazy

The video is better than the song itself.

What is pop music coming to?  Frank and Elvis must be turning over in their grave.

I read last year that she was worth $2-$3 million in the bank.  So this year she must be worth $5-6Mil.  But she’s still not TOP earning (black) female singer/performer.  She’s nowhere near top in money.  Beyonce is the top earning black female, and if she would follow Beyonce’s “manners” and “etiquette” and not be so vulgar, maybe she would get more endorsements.

    Nah, I think I will pass. I’d rather go watch Lauren’s video….or Lee’s!

Are we gonna be getting Nicki Minaj updates on this site now that she’s part of the Idol “family”. Can we please not? I, and I’m sure many others, would rather stay clear of all her music. Having her critique contestants that can sing 1000 times better than her is bad enough we don’t need to hear the abomination she calls music.

You don’t think that having deals with Mattel, MAC, Viva Glam, OPI nail polish Pepsi, Adidas, Onch Movement Jewelry, and whoever she’s partnering with to release her perfume are enough?

Nicki’s deal with Pepsi is for seven figures, and is an international contract.  She got that and all of the other endorsement deals just by being herself.  She’s also not in competition with Beyonce or anyone else.

If she ends up getting the judging gig, YES, MJ will post about her.  Just like she posted about JLo and Steven’s outside activities.  And past and present Idol activities.  You don’t think there are Idols that bore/annoy that crap out of me that I rather not have posted here?  You don’t think others here wish the same?

I don’t say anything because it’s not my blog.  And I try to respect the fact that others would be interested even if I’m not.

Nicki’s biggest competition is no longer relevant.  People like Lil Mama, Eve, Lil Kim, MIA, Brandy, etc. are Nicki’s competition, and they are no longer even household names.  Not currently.  Everyone knows who Nick is.  As for people like Beyonce, Mariah, etc., there’s a fine line between hip-hop/pop and rap/pop

Nicki Minaj certainly has a potty mouth, but I still like her. She’s unique, creative and her style of rapping is incredibly catchy. I can understand why so many people have featured her in their songs. This is the first time I’m hearing this song, but I actually like it a lot; collaborating with B.O.B. is never a bad thing! However if you’re not into rap, then you’ll probably hate it.

It’s hard to predict how she’ll be as an AI judge, since that clearly requires a different set of skills. She’s pleasant and coherent in most of her interviews, but I’ve also seen a few strange interviews that leave me shaking my head. If that Ellen video with those two cute British girls is any indication (One was named Sophia Grace??) then she seems to do very well with kids, LOL.

lol for this video. She’s awesomely cray cray. Plus she’ll irritate a lot Idol Purists. This is gold! Praying for her as a judge!

all jokes aside, what the hell would this woman need Idol for? she is hot right this very moment and from the looks of it very much turning most of the cray into loads of cash… so why Idol?

  • Oh_CW

Why -she’s not wholesome at all. Oh dear… ;)
