Good evening, guys! It’s Adam, here again to recap AGT! The show starts soon, so grab some popcorn (or booze) and join me here at 8 to see it all go down!
The time has come! AGT starts… NOW! After the judges enter we are ready for the talent!
First up: DM Nation! They are a girl dance group who are pretty fantastic! They do tricks I have seen before on the show, but they perform them all fabulously. Great start to the night! Howie says they were not like a dance recital, which is a good thing. Howard called them fun to watch. DM Nation are through to the next round!. They were really great.

Next, we have Wayne Hoffman, a mentalist! He is a new dad who will be doing something he put together special for the show. He is going to put three firecrackers in his mouth and light them on fire….. WHAT?! Lets see what he has planned. Ohhhhh he explains that only one of them is real, the others are just duds. Howie is invited on stage and mixes the three fire crackers. After a long and drawn out act, he correctly guesses which were the duds and the real one. The duds are placed in his mouth and don’t go off while the real one explodes in a box. Eh, I have seen this act before done tons of different ways. He was okay though, I guess. This trick just didn’t dazzle me. Wayne is through to the next round though nonetheless!

Next up is a montage about food. Everyone is eating in the holding room! The judges have a special dinner all together. This leads us into our next act… somehow. The CraigLewis Band is a duo who love to perform at places that give them free food. Yep, thats why we had that entire montage. And then…. they proceed to kinda kill “It’s A Mans Mans World”. Not a fan of the overdone song (sooooooo overdone), but dang these two guys have great voices! Howie says they deserve a million dollar buffet. Thank you for that Howie, your words of wisdom are always appreciated. The duo get 4 yeses and are through to the next round!

Mel B coming back to the judging panels having ripped her dress brings us back from commercial. Uh oh… next up is a professional regurgitator. He likes to swallow things then bring them back up. I guess that is impressive, albeit super gross. Stevie Starr is his name and his act goes basically how you would expect it to. He does a lot of gross swallowing and brings them all right back up. His personality is super creepy as he does his act. I’m finding this harder and harder to watch. I think I just threw up in my mouth…. Somehow though Stevie ends up making it through to the next round. Don’t get me wrong, the guy has a talent, I just don’t think it is the kind of talent that needs to be shared.

A sequence with the contestants dancing in the holding room is up next. This leads us into our next act, Ronnie The Dancer who teaches dancing. He compares himself to nobody, as nobody dances like him. Whelp, we have our first joke act of the night. He dances like I do after I’ve had a few Mike’s Hard Lemonade very manly beers. He of course doesn’t advance, but Nick comes on stage to dance with him for a few seconds.

Benjamin Yonatton is up next. He was adopted at a young age and only spoke Spanish, so he used dance as a way to communicate. Since then, he has gone blind. He now wears these glasses that expand his view a little. From the stage he says all he can see of the judges are their eyeballs. His moves are not perfect, but they are still impressive. There is definitely some room for improvement, but he by far was still the best act of the night so far. I worry for how his performances will translate when it comes to the live shows, but he definitely should sail through tonight. Of course Benjamin gets 4 yeses and advances. This was a heartwarming story that I expect to blow up and be all over the place come tomorrow.

Next, we have Shirley Claire, an 87 year old singer. She shares that she is single and she used to be a showgirl back in the day. She has been married 4 times; 3 died and one she says she almost killed trying to get a divorce. TMI lady. “Death is easier then divorce”, she says before performing “I’m Gonna Live Until I Die.” The judges all stand for her. She is a little sassy in her banter with the judges, and I kinda actually dug it. I think she is funny and did a good job. Shirley is through to the next round!

The Treadmill Dance Crew is up next. They dance while performing on treadmills. Wow, this was impressive! A roller skating act is up next. They were pretty good too. Both acts advance!

Next is a magician! Xakary The Magician says tonight he is going to saw Heidi in half. This act is a lawsuit waiting to happen. She gives a shoutout to her kids as he straps her in. Oh no, I think I’m getting American Horror Story flashbacks. Of course the trick goes fine and Heidi does the whole play dead after the saw “goes through” her. THe judges eat it up and Xakary is through to the next round.

We have a young singer up next. Alicia Michelli is her name and she has had a passion for music since her father sang her lullabies when she was a child. During the day she is a hostess. After talking to the judges, she starts singing “I’d Rather Go Blind”. It is a little much at points, had some pitch issues and got a little screamy, but I really enjoyed her performance overall. Heidi got chills. Mel points out she had pitch issues. Regardless of being called out on her pitch, Alicia is through to the next round!

Time for some joke auditions! After it’s done, is a guy named Young Blood. He says he has an act involving milk. Nope. I’ve seen the commercial, I know where this is going. I can’t watch this…. He basically makes himself tear and squirt the milk from his eyes and does other disgusting stuff. Heidi says he was a hot mess. Ew, somebody get him off the stage already. Howie and Mel give him a yes. ARE YOU KIDDING ME MEL AND ESPECIALLY HOWIE?! Thankfully, Heidi gives a no and Howard summarizes everything I’m thinking and gives him a no also, so Young Blood does not end up advancing. Thanks again for being the voice of reason, Howard.

Derek Hughes, a magician, is up next. He is a dad who is trying to provide for his kids. I don’t know if I liked or hated this trick. He makes a deck of cards vanish then reappear in his pants. Then, a card the judges picked he makes reappears in his butt crack. I don’t need, or want to see any more of what he’s doing. This was just not fun to watch for me. The judges are all over it though and advance him to the next round.

Freckled Sky is up next. They are dancers who say they blend all different versions of dance together in their performances. Val is a guy from Ukraine who is the mastermind behind the entire act. He created the performance because he can’t dance himself. Wow, these guys remind me so much of Blue Journey from last season! They dance with visuals behind them, incorporating water to the act. Fantastic job, these guys were incredible! These guys honestly would get my golden buzzer if I were a judge. And… HOWARD GIVES THEM HIS GOLDEN BUZZER! Freckled Sky is through to the live shows! I honestly can’t wait to see what comes next from these guys!
