The American Idol 15 Showcase Round was taped in front of a studio audience at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on Tuesday December 8. There were TWO tapings. One in the afternoon, the other later in the evening. Check out a review of the first taping from Rodney Ho of the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
All three judges were there, including Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. Season 8 alum, Allison Iraheta sang backup for Ricky Minor and his band!

I’m not entirely sure the final list of semi-final contestants will come out of this round. There’s talk there could be additional cuts later. At this point, we can’t assume the this round will result in a Top 24 and/or a group of contestants set to compete in the live rounds. Now, I’m hearing the cuts are going to happen pretty fast, so hold on to your hats people.
