American Idol 14 Boy George to Mentor 80s Night, ITunes Studios Begin

That 80’s theme we spoiled a couple of weeks ago is coming up on next week’s (Wednesday March 25 8/7c PM) American Idol 14 Top 10 Redux performance/elimination show.  Plus, ’80s icon Boy George will mentor the finalists  and perform – with the finalists – his hit song with Culture Club, “Karma Chameleon.” That sounds like a ton of fun, doesn’t it?

Also, we have learned that the American Idol Studio recordings will begin next week! The contestants are laying down their vocal tracks for next week’s songs.

Reminder: Beginning next week, American Idol airs one 2 hour episode a week on Wednesday nights at 8/7c PM on FOX. That schedule will continue until finale week, when the final performance show airs on Tuesday May 12 and the finale on Wednesday May 13.

Even MORE FUN! The following week, American Idol, original flavah, Kelly Clarkson, returns to mentor and perform on Wednesday, April 1 8/7c PM on FOX.

On tonight’s (March 19) American Idol Top 10 performance show, Qaasim Middleton got the lowest number of votes, but was saved by the judges, Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. after delivering an audacious performance of “Come Together” by The Beatles.

That means all 11 contestants will return to the Idol stage next week for 80s night! Not exactly sure how it will work now that the Save is spent. I’m guessing they’ll allow everyone to sing. But maybe not. In any case, TWO contestants will be leaving the competition.
