Watch the new lyric video for “Trespassing”, the new single from Adam Lambert, set to go to radio on October 8.

The video comes on the heals of Adam’s announcement that he plans to release the all-new Trespassing EP, featuring eight new remixes of four songs from his latest album, Trespassing.

The EP will be available for download on October 16th and will be available on CD exclusively at Adam’s Official Store on November 6th.

And, as others have noted, it’s one of his songs – makes it even better.

Well, there you have it…Last numbers reported are from over 2 months ago prior to his overseas promotion…so to say his sales are low is an unknown and just a GUESS…not good enough for me…

cool lyric video…they are certainy being consistent with that black and yellow branding theme this era, lol.  I’ve loved this song since the very first acoustic performance of it way back when.  I doubt its gonna get much of a push from RCA given all of its big name releases this fall and the commercial struggles of this era, but I don’t think that it is all that mysterious or puzzling why they are throwing out a third single.  1) way back in may in a Billboard article label reps said they had a plan to work the album through early 2013 — it simply appears that they are sticking with their plan; I agree that they believe there is a market for him;  2) look at Adam’s schedule over the past and upcoming few months — magazine cover shoot, summer sonic in japan, the voice china, large concerts in south africa, melbourne concert, pretty little liars, rove la,  new zealand promo, radio shows, one off concerts with 2500-7000 ish capacity, graham norton, queen. Although album hasn’t sold well, it did open top ten in a lot of countries and #1 in us/canada; his singles have done well at radio in a bunch of emerging and smaller countries..while he hasn’t had good sales this era, coupled with the success of era 1, the good reviews and coverage from major music publications like Rolling Stone and Billboard and substantial print and internet coverage (virtually every week his picture is splashed across a magazine or newspaper somewhere in the world), it might lead a label to believe that there is something to build on in the future.

i really like this. I’m so glad he’s releasing another single. Trespassing is a fun and meaningful song to him. Go Adam!

  • Jazz_11

Me too.. It’s anthemic song and this song gets choreographers around the world to choreographs dance moves and put them on YT .. coz it’s a really fun song

  • Jazz_11

Nope.. there’re 3 songs that Adam doesn’t have co-wrote credit on, BTIKM, NCOE and Naked Love.

  • Jazz_11

Trespassing the album released on 05/15/12, so 150K in US only in almost 5 months isn’t that bad I’d assume compare to some :)

  • Jazz_11

There’s already another rumors that he’s going to have concerts in 2 different countries in 2013. So I’d think that Adam will start his international tour first before the US concerts in 2013.

He definitely is an art and a great art usually gives people enjoyment to watch/see .

Yes, fan sites report his sales. The last US soundscan total we have was 8/19/12 – Adam Lambert, Trespassing (151,580). We do not know retail sales for the rest of the world BUT the album was #1 in US, Canada, Hungary, # 2 Finland, #4 New Zealand, #10 Denmark, Australia, South Africa #13 Russia, #15 Japan, #16 UK, #16 South Korea, #19 Portugal, #20 Sweden, #28 Germany, Austria, #29 Czech, #30 Netherlands, etc. I do not believe that this would be classified as “poor” sales by Sony. In addition, recorded music sales are only one revenue stream for Sony. In China, Spain and Sweden, for example, licensing revenue is larger than recorded music sales.  **On the single, it is already in the Top 10 radio chart in South Africa, Hong Kong and a few other places. You cannot judge Adam’s success by what is happening in the US retail sales or on US Radio.

LOVE TRESPASSING. AND FOR THOSE WHO DONT KNOW, ADAM IS DOING EXTREMELY WELL INTERNATIONALLY. HE JUST SANG AT THE VOICE FINALE IN CHINA – 500 MILLION VIEWING AUDIENCE. AMERICA HAS NOT EMBRACED HIM LIKE THEY HAVE OVERSEAS. HOPE THIS CHANGES.

Because, contrary to what you claim,  most artists with 150K in album sales do NOT get 3rd singles. It’s great for Adam — RCA definitely seems committed to continue to try to support him and build his career. But he’s lucky, because getting a 3rd single when your album isn’t selling very well is definitely the exception to the rule.

”Because, contrary to what you claim,  most artists with 150K in album sales do NOT get 3rd singles.”

MOST artist didn’t even get a second single because their sales in US are so low without any sales outside America. So there were debates about Adam’s international success but the fact we don’t have any idea how many he actually sold worldwide it’s easy to guess whatever it is RCA is pretty content to give him the third single if not he was dropped from the label months ago. They will not keep him if RCA didn’t get what they expected to get from him.

Most albums off the BB200 for an extensive amount of time don’t get new singles. And if they do the labels kind of throw one out there with not much promo.

I think today is the adds date for Trespassing so we’ll see if HAC will bite on Adam’s music this era.

Because, contrary to what you claim,  most artists with 150K in album sales do NOT get 3rd singles.

Even if we count third, fourth, and fifth singles that indie labels kinda throw out there with no support, it is virtually unheard-of for a major label to do a new add-on EP at Lambert’s sales level, even if we assume international sales equal U.S. sales. The usual threshold is over 1 million on the current album.

Personally, I think recognizing that Lambert’s getting a little extra development effort doesn’t downgrade his talents but deserves appreciation. It means that the direction of the industry intersects well enough with his considerable talent to make it possible for him to find plausible arguments for convincing the label to keep plugging, and he’s savvy enough to recognize and use those arguments. When everything’s not going ideally with sales and radio play, that’s a strong position for an artist to be in.

    Aw, Sharon S, thanks!
