The media can’t get enough … we can’t get enough!! I really wish they would add a concert date for Hawaii! I’m so envious of everyone that can watch the idol tour!

I wonder if Kris will be performing on tour?

This is all great news! I can’t believe the difference a week makes. (Has it even been a week since the RS cover lol?) The news pre RS was all about the sexuality stuff… now we’re finally focusing on music.

The Sexuality things come in to play now in more relevant ways (like Adam’s comment about Freddie) but are not the be all end all to what’s being reported on with regard to Adam. It’s so awesome and it already feels like gay schmay…. who cares…. the boy has mad talent and lots of people are excited about seeing him on tour and excited about the release of his album. Finally!!!

I’m sorry, honowoowoo, that you won’t be able to go as you would like to do. But, I can assure you that you have found the best site. MJ always has great videos and recaps from different posters over the summer. It is definitely the next best thing to being there. I’m sure this place will be overflowing with all kinds of tour goodness as soon as they get started!

This makes me want to start a boycott of the tour. Its been great for Adam but this is totally unfair for Kris. Is he still alive? This is getting to be too much.

I’ve always gotten from Kris an “I’m just happy to be here” kind of vibe from him. I doubt he’s that aware of all the Adam hype. He’s probably just laying low and doing his thing like he always has. That may or may not pay off in the long run. When he’s ready to put out some music, I’m sure the PR will ramp up and focus on that.

Because until then, there’s really nothing to talk about in regards to him. He’s just so…NORMAL.

Like for Adam, it is vital what producers he can land. That might give us an idea of how much they are prepared to invest in him?

How so? I’ll admit I haven’t really spent too much time on either of them; but they look almost identical to me in how they’re set up.

I agree. Kris is the winner of the title of American Idol. Period. But honestly – Adam has lead the way in news during the season and after the season. People are interested in him, people become invested in him and it’s insane! The media really feeds on what the public wants to know. I’m sorry for the ones who are “getting tired of Adam news” but he’s newsworthy. Do we expect him to reject interviews and therefore be deemed as arrogant?

I would love to here what Kris has in plan for his music. I’m thoroughly excited about Adam as he discussed it a lot (he doesn’t only talk about his sexuality ya know). But whether the media chooses to give it to us, that’s their choice.

And the Oprah interview was amazing! I love to here his plans… did you know that Adam is really a smart dude – he knows how to utilize every aspect to make it work for him. I remember Michael Orland talking about how he would have ideas but he would totally open himself up to the ideas of others, professionals who are more experienced and soak it in. Therefore in this industry, I’m positive Adam is already soaking up and gaining the needed experience with RedOne and all the other songwriters and producers.

I think I know why people talk about Adam in superlative terms…because that’s how he talks himself. Lots of exclamation points. lol. He’s like a kid in a candy store right now. So excited about everything. It’s funny that negative things get attached to him because overall he seems like a really upbeat, positive person. I loved the Slumdog reference and the shout-out to Freddie Mercury. I wonder what other two Bowie songs we’ll be hearing…”Heroes” perhaps?

I have officially decided that I will go to the AI summer tour. I was on the fence as I really did not want to see anyone perform other than Adam- and maybe Kris ( sorry I am no an Allison fan).

I have a feeling that Adam will become gigantic- and I won’t be able to see him sing very frequently.

Articles and events regarding Kris are always posted. The RS cover generated lots of buzz, and the media is jumping on it. They need to make a living and always go with what’s hot in the moment. Adam has charisma and is exciting, and much of the media enjoys and is impressed by him. Adam’s Oprah.com interview is the latest of several interviews of the to 10. It appears they are going in order. Kris, as the winner, will logically be last.

As an Adam fan, I’m thrilled with more news about the tour and music, finally! Initially, much of the buzz was Adam being hounded about very personal matters. Kris did not have to suffer through that. Kris is a quiet person who may be happy to be staying out the limelight until it’s time to promote his album.

Now, the show is over. Kris received the prize and was signed first. He’ll perform last during the tour. His album will be great and will be promoted appropriately. After that, popularity and success will be driven by more than just the Idol watching and voting crowd.

I have read a few comments where people are upset about the “making Bowie current” comment. Fact is Bowie is the ultimate reinventor. He is always changing things around. Bowies songs are iconic but that doesn’t make them sacred. The little snip of Fame that we heard on the 20/20 interview sounded totally hot, with a stronger gruntier bass line. I won’t be able to go to the concert but hoping to get a taste of it from posted videos…

Adam talking about the tour actually is making interested in going as opposed to the teeth-pulling I felt when my mom asked me to take her (who wants to go for only Adam and Allison, so I never understood her enthusiasm for the whole show — maybe she is that big of an Adison fantard lol). I am actually looking forward to it now.

Okay, I’m usually a lurker but I have to interject with respect to Adam saying he’s a rockstar: I think he is referring to the “rockstar” as a character, not insinuating that he is any kind of superstar or legend. He is totally self-aware, and has acknowledged that he is just a newcomer, and could easily crash and burn though he hopes he doesn’t. Do you really think, given those kinds of comments, that he thinks he is some kind of superstar already? No way. The context of his “rockstar” statements have been about him needing to lose weight because he’s “trying to be a rockstar” or getting to play dress up and be a rockstar, etc. He uses the term loosely, and by my perception, by no means thinks he is already a legend at all.

That’s cool, hopefully they also perform a medley on Kris’ set, it would be the final song but hopefully something that suits him.

Adam has had much news posted on his front page, and subsequently, under the news tab on his official site. Kris hasn’t had all the media that Adam had has had this past week, but Kris was also was nominated for a Teen Choice Award and will be performing on GMA in August – two things that have been posted under Adam’s news page.

As a Kris fan, I check the official site occasionally, but if I’m looking for information/news on him, I go to KrisAllenNation.com.

Dare we risk the embarrassment of being wrong when we intimate that one or the other will fail, has no charm, no talent, is boring, etc…etc.? Or even that one or the other will be a raving, stupendous success…to end all success stories? Or that one will be the next Mraz or Mercury or, alternatively, be sent packing back to the farm or to the theatre to live out the rest of their days in obscurity? Well, I don’t risk it, myself. I prefer to take a wait and see, trust but verity, sanguine outlook. Especially after what happened with AI7′s contestants. Kris and Adam are both nominated for TCA , will perform on Good Morning America, on Larry king Live. And only Adam’s site updated.

I hope Kris and Adam would duet on tour, too. But i highly doubt it.

Kris’ official website doesn’t even post the interviews Kris has done. And he has done a bunch. How hard is it to download the videos or the hard copy links to that stuff?

And they have nothing on the site about how he’s been working with David Hodges and Claude Kelly (as has been reported elsewhere). Or about the Teen Choice Aawrds or the GMA concert he’s doing with David Cook and Adam in August.

There’s lots of stuff to put on that site. Maybe none of it is mind blowing. But it should still be up on a site that purports to be a FAN site. This isn’t brain surgery — it would only take an hour or so a day (if that) to update the information on the site. The whole appearance of the site is bad — it’s as if they can’t be bothered to update it. That’s REALLY unprofessional of whoever runs the site.

I’m really sorry I wont be able to see the him perform in the tour now. I was ok with it before now with Bowie and Muse I am green with envy of all you peeps with tickets. All I can say is that someone better get me some video love form the show.

For Kris fans. It seems that all the idols get interviewed for Oprah.com, so expect Kris’ interview as the winner to be the final one. Probably next week or the week after that.

As a side note, isn’t it funny how Adam can’t seem to catch a break! When the media was talking about his sexuality, people were complaining about the lack of music talk. The only thing I know about Kris and Adam’s official websites is they both look like ass. I really don’t go there unless I have to, and fortunately I don’t.

I am glad we are getting Adam news still. It’s great and keeping my interest since I know I am the type that can be out-of-sight, out-of-mind. Thankfully that is not happening. And I am so pleased the news has turned to music and that Adam is working with producers he was interested in collaborating with. That’s awesome!

twinkle I thought the same thing until I went on line and saw the prices for what would be for me is to see Adam and the Allison and Adam duet. I think I’ll wait for his solo tour. $80.00-90.00 is too much to pay for 1 ticket to hear a handful of songs IMO.

Adam didn’t start the fire with regards to his sexuality. The press pushed him into a position where he almost had to address it. I’m glad he got it all out. As for the rest of it I don’t think he has any control over what the press writes or who they focus on. The Oprah site seems to have done interviews with all the Idols so I’m sure an interview with Kris will be forthcoming.

Kris hasnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t had all the media that Adam had has had this past week, but Kris was also was nominated for a Teen Choice Award and will be performing on GMA in August – two things that have been posted under Adamà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s news page.

As a Kris fan, I check the official site occasionally, but if Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m looking for information/news on him, I go to KrisAllenNation.com.

When there is news about Kris I’m very sure it will be posted. I still fail to see the problem here. If the media isnt covering him, tough. 95% of the Adam news has been about the fact that heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s gay. Which everyone already knew anyway, so thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s not news either.

I assume this was hyperbole, but the real stat is about 14% including comedy bits on TV of the Adam mentions are in articles/video that contain the word “gay”. There actually is a lot of Adam news — some really trivial like over 1,000 articles about Adam’s favorite food (ice cream, Dreyers French Silk) and that is not counts blog posts. And some more interesting, like about the designers or artist he admires.

Adam is hot, the only question is is he the flavor of the month or will Ben & Jerry’s create an ice cream named after he — in so, I recommend something with chocolate and nuts.

Since many fans waited all season for Adam to do a Bowie song, and were denied, I am thrilled to get a Bowie medly. And, since thanks to ruskimom’s link, I reheard some original Bowie, I am glad will have some updating.

Note to all Bowie fans: Do not bash me for thinking Bowie should be updated. Even he released a remix of Fame in 1990.

But as for the media overload. I’m guessing the general population who watched the show and are fans, but not die-hard fans wouldn’t even feel it, unless they were active about pursuing it. Most of them have likely moved on to the next piece of juicy gossip that’s stirring in the news.

Bunch of tweets today from anoop and matt, as well as the tour drummer (Aaron Spears) about rehearsals today…sounds like the rehearsals are picking up a bit, maybe in terms of getting a lot done?

I’m enjoying all the news about what Adam’s singing on the tour and who he’s recording with. That is certainly “newsworthy.”

Adam just generates excitement among the press. There are also articles about what the other Idols are up to but they seem to generate less excitement. It shows when everytime mj posts a thread about Adam, it gets so many hits. If he excites people, it can’t be helped. It’s not a crime to be exciting.

He sang weekly on tv for five months and what people saw excited them and now they are excited to see what he’ll do on tour and for his first cd. People can be as annoyed as they want to be about the heavy press coverage but as long as people are excited about him, it will continue. It’s just what it is.

I’m just so happy to be seeing information about Adam that is about his music after weeks of the media fixation on the sexuality issue, finally. Kris got to talk about his music right away after the finale in all his post-Idol interviews but Adam had to muddle his way through the sexuality bullshit first, now hopefully we can move on. Interesting to note that though it may feel like over kill a lot of the constant press has come from people working with Adam, not from Adam himself, people are excited about him, that’s great, I hope the buzz keeps going until we have some new music in our hands.

Regarding Adam singing Bowie on tour, I am 35, not young, but Bowie is before my time. I didn’t like Bowie’s version of Fame when I checked it out on YouTube. I am totally thrilled that Adam will make the song more current. My favorite songs from Adam were his Upright Cabaret songs, just the piano and his beautiful voice. I know I won’t get that on his album, but I like Adam as an artist, entertainer, and person. So whatever he wants to sing, he gets my support.

I am not a Bowie fan nor am I familiar with his songs but anything Adam sings turns into magic. So there’s no problem in getting those Bowie songs in my favorite list once he sings it.

I am thrilled with all the news about Adam’s album and performances on the Idol tour. It’s so great that it’s finally about the music!

I am not someone who loved Bowie, so it will be interesting to see how Adam updates some of his songs for today. I could listen to him sing anything. This must be such an exciting time for him. He is finally realizing his dream. He seems to be hotter than hot. I love how he uses humor and even a little sarcastic wit to deal with touchy subjects. He seems to be so in command of himself these days.

Well check it all out beforehand. Adam has made me researching, googling, downloading anything he has mentioned musically. Fame was a favorite Bowie song when I was kid. But a lot of other music he has mentioned has been new to me. Whatever Adam sings, I’m sure it will be great.

Do you think those are part of the pants? In pic 11/11 it looks like the waistband of those pants are made out of the same sparkly. Unless his pants have fallen down that much, but doesn’t look like it.

He is definitely pretty fierce, although I have to say those are not glittery leggings those are fishnet stockings, probably the same ones he wore in the Zodiac video where he sang A Change Is Gonna Come.

He also wore them in one of his drag photos, both top and bottoms, with a pink dress kind of pinned together over them and high heels. The shoes were really cute!

He is gonna be an interesting to guy to follow as far as fashion goes, I only wish I had the nerve and creativity to wear stuff like that! I am so jealous!!!

lambkin: Thanks for the pics. I have one thing (and pretty much one thing only) in common with Adam. I love me some fierce boots. I actually remember calling my boyfriend (years ago) about my cool cowboyish boots that I splurged on and he was also telling me about his new ski boots that he got for Christmas. And we bonded over the phone over our new cool boots. (We were separated over the holidays). Anyway… silly memory….

But I like Adam’s taste in boots… I’m weird!!!

Really? I’ve been a dancer since I was 5 and I know my way around fishnets, and the large size photos do not look like fishnets to me. Unless they are rhinestone studded or something… I dunno. Anyway. Either way, he is ridiculously awesome.

I’m just not seeing the glitter, I’m seeing black netting and nothing else and I enlarged as far as I could to 400%, plus if he didn’t shave his legs and put fishnets on, it could distort the look. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it until proven otherwise.

I think you are right, the sparkely at the back is the rows of studding in the other pictures when he had the KISS costume on. They did appear to be part of the pants, not an extra accessory.

Oh my…Adam Allison, Muse and Bowie, how could it get any better? All of you who are living in the USA and going to the tour, you’re extremely lucky.

And also, if you don’t know Muse, I know it has been mentioned, but they are really worth it. The song that Adam is going to be doing, is actually one of my favorites. They are a proof of eclectic rock with electronic bits and theatrical style being relevant today.

Yep wish I could go too, almost feel like buying a ticket to US and going to a concert. Boy wouldn’t it be great to have enough money to just do it! Oh and not mind leaving the hubby and kids at home LOL!

That is why Adam is tweaking the Bowie songs and making a medley out of them. The video game Guitar Hero and of course football have kept Queen’s music easily recognizable by kiddies and adults and I think Adam will make some of Bowie’s earlier stuff interesting to people who have never heard it. I have to admit just listening to the little bit shown on 20/20 has peaked my interest to hear just how Adam presents Bowie in concert. I know he will do it justice and just perhaps make more than a few people interested in Bowie again. I realize that most of the time Bowie’s vocals are an acquired taste but a lot of the stuff Bowie did was great and crossed genres.

Don’t know why I have not thought about this before but: The Killers are another perfect example of how glittery pop rock from the 80s (and 70s) can be made current and (extremely) successful…

Many of the influences that have been cited for them are along the same lines of Adam’s (Bowie, Queen, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, The Cure, Ultravox, Madonna… well also Springsteen, but that’s another story).

With this thought in mind, with which I try to dislodge the one of Adam as the “male Lady Gaga”, I can go about my day with a smile.

Their concert schedule is crazy – it’s practically non stop. Kris and Adam are doing the Early Show concert series in NYC then they have a concert in NJ that same day.

And I think they have a show when they are sceduled to do a the top 40 for Ryan. I know these things are only are few hours at best but put in travel time and then preparing for the show, it has to be exhausting.

So does this mean he will be working with Missy Elliot too (since he managed to get all the producers he wanted)? I really hope so, she is really out there when it comes to dance tracks.
