San Antonio Auditions

American Idol Auditions drew 7,000 hopefuls  in San Antonio, TX, Friday:

Jessica and Joeni Guerra, 18, holding hands and dressed identically, sang together and solo. Jessica chose Thalia’s “Por Amor” to inject a little “flavor of San Antonio,” she said. The judges were won over.

Grant Fisher, who was quick with the snappy wisecracks and could have been cast as Willis’ younger brother in “Moonlighting,” said his green tie got him noticed. It also didn’t hurt, he figured, that his barbershop version of a Brian McKnight song was a creative mix of rock and R&B.

Auditions continue in East Rutherford, NJ, Monday.

For those of you interested in keeping track of the audition process, Idol Forums has opened their Season 6 spoiler thread here.  You’ll already find a list of auditioners who have passed round one, along with websites and MySpace pages if they exist.  A GIANT thank you to Idol Maniac from Idol Forums for the heads up on that, and for taking the time to gather the information to keep us (ME!) informed.
