Billboard Update (Issue Date: December 2, 2006)

• Kelly Clarkson’s “Breakaway” fell off the Billboard 200 album chart after 102 weeks.
• According to Ken Barnes Idol Chatter  blog, Ruben Studdard – “The Return”  sold 9,000  this week, 132,000 total.   As Ken wrote in his post, not much of a “Return” for Ruben…
• More numbers from Idol Chatter: Carrie Underwood – “Some Hearts”- sold 72,000 last week–a nice boost from the CMAs–61,000 this week, 3.78 million total.   Wow.   Kellie Pickler sold 24,000 this week, 39,000 the week before and 79,000 her first week, 142,000 total.   Clay Aiken – “A Thousand Different Ways” – sold 8000 this week, 406,000 total.
• Katharine McPhee’s “Over the Rainbow” jumped from 6 to 4 on the Single Sales Chart.   Taylor Hicks’ “Do I Make You Proud” stayed steady at 7.   Interesting that Katharine has pulled ahead of Taylor the last 3 weeks.
• Look out for DAUGHTRY first week numbers next week…
