X Factor Australia 5 – Results Week 2

So I was wrong about Joelle being in the top 3 this week. Perhaps I am letting my bias’s about Good Question seep through into this season. Actually I know I am. I still contend that “Rude Boy” was a solid choice for her. I hope she is able to turn it around next week and lead herself to a potential spot in the grand final. Cat Vas didn’t have a great week either and her spot in the bottom 2 is no surprise. All the edge she got with “Addiction To Love” she quickly lost with “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.” She could’ve done so Florence + The Machine, Imogen Heap, Alanis Morissette, and a myriad of other “Legends” that could’ve been better. Also I am a little confused what qualifies one as a “Legend” with in the context of the theme.

This sing-off was far and away more worthy to your attention than last weeks. Both Joelle and Cat Vas did a pretty good job. Nothing particularly amazing, but both solid. If I had to choose based on this showdown I would’ve probably sided with Cat Vas’s “High and Dry” over Joelle’s “Give Me Love,” but in terms of last night and potential long term career, I would go for Joelle. There is a part of me that wishes that Joelle was a part of THIRD D3GREE instead of Jordan. Jordan just can’t keep up with the awesomeness that is Kelebek, perhaps Joelle could. Joelle needs to do something if she wants to survive for another month in this competition. Song suggestions for her could be perhaps, “Clarity” Zedd featuring Foxes or “Save The World” Swedish House Mafia.
