Kat Robichaud’s odd style didn’t really connect with The Voice 5 viewers. A member of Team Cee Lo, She was eliminated at the Top 10, after performing “We Belong.” The week before, she sang the LGBT anthem, “She Keeps Me Warm” and dedicated it to her husband. Ouch.
But as I said at the time, Kat could be oddly compelling, as she is here, in the music video for her new song, “Why Do You Love Me Now.” The song is from her recently released album, Kat Robichaud and the Darling Misfits, available on iTunes.
The narrative is a disturbing story of a girl jokingly embraced, and then cruelly rejected by a trio of “mean girl” types, played by San Francisco drag performers Jillian Gnarling, Johnny Rockit, and Uel Renteria. I found the video simultaneously compelling and disturbing.
