The Voice 22 Recap: Live Shows Kick Off Top 16 Performances
Who from Team Blake Shelton, Team Gwen Stefani, Team John Legend and Team Camila Cabello will make the cut? After last night’s viewer vote, the two highest vote getters from each team will advance. Next, the coaches will each save one team member. The 4 eliminated singers will then perform for America’s vote in the Instant Save. The winner will round out the Top 13.
Team Blake Shelton Results
DUMB QUESTIONS FROM CARSON DALY. Rowan hopes that America saw how much she loves to perform! America Saved: Bodie! America also saved: Brayden Lape! Whoa. America NOT in love with Bryce Leatherwood. Blake is gonna save his boy, right? Blake claims he couldn’t figure it out ahead of time. He calls Rowan amazing and he lauds Bryce’s country style. HOLY COW BLAKE SAVES ROWAN. I did not expect that at all. Bryce will have to compete for the wildcard!
Next, Charlie Puth, who served at Team Camila’s battle advisor, plays his latest single “That’s Hilarious.” There is something about this guy that bugs.
Team John Legend Results
Omar Jose Cardona calls The Voice experience “incredible.” America Saved: Parajita Bastola! America also saved: Omar Jose Cardona! Hm. Ok then. I can’t believe America didn’t vote Kim Cruse through. John saves Kim Cruse. He betta. I’m a Sasha fan, but she was clearly outsung last night. Sasha will compete for the wildcard.
Team Gwen Stefani Results
What has Justin learned about himself on the show? It’s OK to be me and I deserve to be here! Alyssa looks like she’s going to pass out. America saved Kique! America also saved Justin Aaron. Will Gwen save her mini-me Alyssa? She enjoyed working with both singers, she says. She calls Alyssa her “little muffin girl.” And of course, Gwen picks her stan, Alyssa Witrado. Kevin will perform for the wildcard.
Team Camila Cabello Results
America saved…Morgan Myles! America also saved…Devix! Yay! Camila sympathises with both singers, because she knows how they feel having competed on a show like this! “There is a reason you got this far in the competition,” she says. She calls Kate “spectacular” and compliments Eric as the whole package. She chooses Eric Who. Kate Kalvach will sing for the wildcard.
Instant Save Wildcard Performances
Bryce Leatherwood – Let Me Down Easy – Team Blake – Blake was probably hoping to choose between Brayden and Rowan, in which case he would have been fully OK with letting Brayden go. Oh well. Bryce performs a mid-tempo song first. It’s not the kind of performance that wins Instant saves. Blake believes Bryce has enough fans to save him. He’s not worried. But he begs America to vote.
Sasha Hurtado – Elastic Heart – She seems nervous tonight, although it’s a solid performance of Sia’s emotional hit, it’s probably not enough to put her over the edge. She doesn’t come alive until the end of the performance. Sing for your life girl! John loves that she picked a song about resilience. “You are fighting to stay on this show…you always rise to the occasion.”
Kevin Hawkins – Redbone – Team Gwen – Kevin is using his falsetto well here, and switching between his head voice and false easily. This performance is his best since the Blind Auditions. He’s faltered through much of the competition, unfortunately for him. Kevin is crying as the crowd screams. Gwen is so impressed by his talent and emotion. “You have so much style,” she says before begging America to vote.
Kate Kalvach – When I Look at You – Team Camila – Poor Kate got screwed by bad tech last night. Will that earn her extra votes? Performing last should also help. She’s certainly doing what she needs to do tonight. Her bell-sweet voice is hitting all the notes in an emotive performance. She’s singing for her life! “Everybody just freaked out! Choked up!” Camila gushed. She begs America to vote. “That was magical.”

John believes she has everything she needs to succeed in the music business. Kevin thanks Gwen and his old coach Blake. Gwen calls tonight just a moment in his journey. “Thank you for showing all your talent to America.” Kate thanks Blake for fighting for her and Camila for saving her. Camila wants to hear her records.
And the Wildcard artist is Bryce Leatherwood. Wow. He DID NOT deliver the best vocal tonight. The most boring vocal? He wins. The Voice country/Blake fans will not be denied.
