The Masked Singer 10 Week 9 Recap Rock Night: Find Out Who Was Unmasked!
Tonight, for week 9 of season 10, The Masked Singer celebrates Rock music! Group B returns for their final night of competition before the finale
Nick Cannon is host, Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger sit on the judges panel.
This week’s episode features celebrity masks Tiki, Sea Queen and Husky. TWO celebrities will be unmasked by the end of the night. The one time save “Ding Dong Keep it On” bell was rung last week.
The show opens with a big cheesy entrance by the judges. THEY WANT TO ROCK. Ken is wearing a ridiculous wig.
Tiki
Clues: He joined the choir as a kid. Cowboy hat. He has a super high pitched voice. He sang at churches all over.
Performance: I Was Made for Lovin You by Kiss – Tiki sings with a strong, raspy baritone voice. This might be his genre. He moves around the stage–he’s probably older. Maybe an 80s guy! He ends on a rock yell. Not a scream, really. Kelly Osbourne is on hand to deliver a clue. “Japan” is the clue. “I’ve had the greatest time in Japan.” He ran into Nicole there! Nicole guesses Sebastian Bach. Robin guesses Perry Farrell. Jenny guesses Adam Lambert. Uh. Negatory, Jenny.
Husky
Clues: Losing his parents within a year of each other was a big deal. 1 that I love. He had to learn how to cope in a healthier way.
Performance: Always by Bon Jovi – Husky might not be a performer first. Maybe an actor or an athlete. However, his voice has a nice rasp and he’s selling this big ballad. On Stage Clue is “Wild.” Husky adds, “Nick this one’s for you. Sharing the stage again with you is Wild.” Maybe Husky appeared on Nick’s MTV show, Wild and Out. The clue was presented as a tattoo on the Men in Black’s chest. Ken thinks Ken is DJ D Wrek. Robin guesses Ginuwine. Jenny guesses Brian McKnight. Hm.
Sea Queen
Clues: She was in a hard rock band once upon a time. She co-starred with Denzel Washington. Barbershop Pole.
Performance: To Be With You by Mr. Big – Sea Queen is obviously Macy Gray. It’s crazy to have singers with signature sounds on this show. Way too easy to guess the celebrity behind the maks. Will she advance to the next round? Her unusual raspy tone is not everyone’s cup of tea. Kelly Osbourne, season 2’s Ladybug, has returned with a clue, “Co-star.” Macy shared the screen with Ken. He should be able to guess this. Ken doubles down on Queen Latifah. He’s been on her talk show. Nicole guesses Macy Gray DING DING DING. Ken admits he worked with Macy on his other FOX show, I Can See Your Voice. But now he’s tripling down on the Queen Latifah guess. He knows better. Robin guesses Macy Gray.
First Result and Unmasking!
The first singer heading home tonight is….Husky! Tiki and Sea Queen will sing in the Battle Royale. Final guesses. Nicole: Ginuwine Robin: Ginuwine Ken: Romeo Miller Nicole: Brian McKnight. And Husky is…Ginuwine! Nicole and Robin are correct. The internets agreed, actually. He and Nick are good friends. He’s surprised Ginuwine said yes to The Masked Singer. Ginuwine responds that he’s not even sure why he said yes. Because he wanted the payday, probably. He sings his most recognizable hit, “Pony,” on his way out.
Next, Bret Michaels aka the Banana, takes the stage to sing “Nothin’ But a Good Time,” by Poison which Tiki and Sea Queen, will sing in the Battle Royale.
Battle Royale
Tiki is first, and has an unfair advantage, because can sing hair band rock easily. But Sea Queen can handle rock, even though she’s an R&B singer. She’s superior, really. She’s got total Tina Turner vibes going. Bret thinks he’ll be out of a job after those performances. Nah. Now the panel chooses the winner.
Second Unmasking
The winner of the Battle Royale, securing a spot in the season finale is…The Sea Queen! Aka Macy Gray is heading to the finale. Tiki is eliminated. Final guesses. Ken: Jon Bon Jovi. Jenny: Adam Lambert Robin: Perry Ferrell Nicole: Sebastian Bach And Nicole is correct. Tiki is Sebastian Bach from Skid Row. Sebastian reveals that he partied with Robin’s father, John Stamos and the Beach Boys. He knows both Jenny and Nicole. Tiki sings out with Skid Row’s “Youth Gone Wild.”
Next week, Group C takes the stage.
