Well that was fun while it lasted. It’s Week 5 of Scott Borchetta’s talent competition, The Launch. The show is airing on Canadian television, and up until now, the videos were available to watch in the US. Not anymore. So that’s that. CTV took down last week’s videos too, for whatever reason.
The song is still available for download in the US. The Big Machine Label group You Tube Channel will post a stream of the studio version later in the week.
The two singers who recorded this week’s song titled “Code” were Zach Lane and Jayd Ink. Jayd’s version of the song was ultimately released worldwide. Singer songwriter Julia Michaels served as this week’s mentor.
Noelle Maracle was considered, but in the end was not chosen to record “Code.” Bravely, she decided to cover Julia Michaels’ “Issues.” (James Marshall and Nicky MacKenzie rounded out this week’s five artists, but were rejected outright)
