The Amazing Race 26 Recap – Episode 11 Live Blog

A new episode of The Amazing Race airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap of the episode here.

Hayley and Blair won the last leg of the race, so they’re the first to depart. This leg continues in Trujillo, Peru and they must find their next clue at a wall mural. They will receive magnifying glasses from a “payaso” (Spanish term for clown) and use it to find the minuscule yellow and red striped tile on the mural. Once they find it and peel it off, they will receive their next clue from the clown. Hayley and Blair find it right away and find out they have a Detour to complete: Shake Your Hips or Make Some Bricks. They can either perform a traditional courting dance or make twelve bricks and then deliver them to a work site. They choose Make Some Bricks.

Meanwhile, Jelani and Jenny take a bit longer to find the tile on the mural, but they eventually do. They choose the Shake Your Hips Detour and get to practicing the routine while Hayley and Blair are working on making bricks. In addition, Laura and Tyler manage to pass Mike and Rochelle on the way to the wall mural due to Mike and Rochelle’s taxi getting a flat tire. They have to wait for another taxi.

Blair and Hayley’s first batch of bricks do not pass, so now they must redo the task. Jelani and Jenny are still practicing dancing the routine while Mike and Rochelle get into a new taxi and continue on their way to the wall mural. Hayley and Blair manage to make twelve acceptable bricks and can now deliver them to the work site with the use of a wheelbarrow. Jenny and Jelani perform their dance, but they do not pass due to not making enough eye contact.

Laura and Tyler bicker as they struggle looking for the correct tile in the mural. But they finally find it before Mike and Rochelle arrive and they receive their next clue. Mike and Rochelle are unware that “payaso” means “clown” in Spanish, and they do not realize they need to receive the magnifying glasses from the clown.

Hayley and Blair complete the Detour and learn they must go to Huancaco to find their next clue. Jelani and Jenny do not pass the dance again and must redo the dance. Meanwhile, Mike and Rochelle finally realize that “payaso” does mean “clown,” so they get the magnifying glasses, quickly spot the tile, and get the clue to the Detour.

Hayley and Blair arrive at Huancaco and find out they now have a Roadblock to complete. One team member must use a surfboard-like boat made of reeds and paddle with a bamboo to retrieve the next clue from a buoy out in the ocean. Blair chooses to do the Roadblock.

Laura and Tyler are now working on the Make Some Bricks Detour, and are later joined by Mike and Rochelle. Both teams are struggling with making the bricks correctly, but it is Mike and Rochelle who switch Detours after a miscommunication between them with making the bricks. They get into a small argument before leaving the site and deciding to dance instead.

Jelani and Jenny finally pass the Shake Your Hips Detour. They receive their next clue and can now go to the Roadblock. Blair is already working on the Roadblock, but he’s having trouble balancing on the boat.

Mike and Rochelle arrive at the Shake Your Hips Detour. They begin practicing and learning the routine. They’re already struggling. Back at the other Detour, Laura and Tyler are still having a hard time making the bricks. They do not pass the inspection and must make more bricks.

Blair retrieves the clue and paddles his way back to Hayley as Laura and Tyler finally make twelve acceptable bricks. They must now deliver the bricks with the wheelbarrow, which isn’t easy due to how heavy the bricks are. Meanwhile, Mike and Rochelle’s first performance is not good enough and they must redo it.

Jelani and Jenny arrive at the Roadblock as Blair and Hayley read their clue and learn they can make their way to the Pit Stop: Virgen Del Socorro. Meanwhile, Laura and Tyler deliver the twelve bricks, but Laura broke a brick. They must now go back and make another brick before they can receive their next clue. But Mike and Rochelle are still struggling with the dance, so they’re not in last place yet.

Jelani begins the Roadblock and struggles in the water due to the crashing waves. Laura and Tyler finally manage to complete their Detour after replacing the broken brick and can continue on to the Roadblock. Mike and Rochelle’s 4th attempt does not pass, officially putting them in last place at the moment. Rochelle starts to feel overwhelmed with the difficulty of the task and knowing they are already behind the other teams.

Jelani retrieves the clue and he and Jenny can make their way to the Pit Stop now. But Hayley and Blair have already arrived and are Team #1! They win a trip to Goa, India.

Laura and Tyler arrive at the Roadblock and Laura must do it since Tyler already did five Roadblocks. As she gets started on the Roadblock, Mike and Rochelle finally complete the Detour and Jelani and Jenny greet Phil as Team #2 at the Pit Stop. Laura is struggling with paddling as Mike and Rochelle arrive. Rochelle must also do the Roadblock due to Mike already having done five Roadblocks. But before they get started, Laura has already retrieved the clue and she and Tyler can make their way to the Pit Stop. Rochelle struggles with the task too.

Laura and Tyler greet Phil as Team #3. They will be racing in the final leg along with Hayley and Blair and Jelani and Jenny. Mike and Rochelle are clearly in last place as they greet Phil as Team #4, but they are not eliminated. They also will be racing in the final leg, which starts right now. They receive the next clue and find out they must fly to Dallas, Texas. But before they leave the Pit Stop, Phil informs them that one team will be eliminated sometime during the final leg. We hear from all four teams before the end of the episode, and they’re all confident they will win the race. But which team will it be?
