Simon Cowell speaks out to Extra for the first time about the X Factor Monday Massacre, when Steve Jones, Paula Abdul and Nicole Sherzinger were all axed on the same day. L.A. Reid has since signed a contract for a second year.

Reportedly, Paula Abdul isn’t happy AT ALL about being dropped from X Factor. Although Simon has promised to put her another show, she doesn’t feel she can trust him. Simon told her Fox didn’t want her because she wasn’t “edgy” enough. Steve Jones was the first to tell her that her job might be in jeopardy.

The ENTIRE cast of the X Factor were guests on today’s The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Everybody played their roles, with Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul doing their old married couple shtick. Bubble-headed Nicole Scherzinger acting as bubble-headed as ever, and L.A. Reid, the stoic record executive, staying under the radar.
