Survivor 32 Kaoh Rong – Week 3 Live Blog

A new episode of Survivor: Kaoh Rong airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap and join the discussion here.

The Brawn tribe lost the first two immunity challenges of the season and have been the only tribe to go to tribal council so far. Will they finally win an immunity challenge tonight or will they be forced to vote out another member of their tribe? Let’s find out!

The episode begins with the Brawn tribe returning to camp after tribal council. Scot explains to Alecia why he wrote her name down. He wanted to stay loyal to Jennifer even though he knew she was leaving anyway. Alecia tells him she still doesn’t understand why he voted for her. In her confessional, Alecia says Scot’s reasoning for voting for her was the stupidest thing she ever heard. She doesn’t trust him. Scot knows Alecia wants him gone next and is worried.

At the Beauty tribe, Tai tries to get the idol again. He knows everyone is watching him like a hawk, but he doesn’t want to give up on retrieving it. He built a tool to retrieve it, but he lost it. Nonetheless, he makes another tool by tying sticks together. He manages to knock down the parchment containing the key and map to the hidden immunity idol. He finds the chest where the idol is and unlocks it. Tai finds the hidden immunity idol! He also learns that if he finds another part of the idol, it will form with the one he found to become more powerful. When the two halves are together, it will be an idol that can be played after the votes are read.

At the Brain tribe, Peter and Liz are talking strategy in the water. They weigh the pros and cons of everyone on the tribe. Unbeknownst to them, Debbie notices them talking while lying down in the shelter. She doesn’t want Peter and Liz to be the ones calling the shots and wants Liz gone next. She tries to form her own four-person alliance against Peter and Liz. She is already close with Joe, so she tries to bring in Neal and Aubry.

Meanwhile on the Beauty tribe, they decide to kill and eat a chicken. This bothers Tai since he loves animals. After Caleb kills the chicken, Tai breaks down in tears. He said it was difficult to watch. The girls feel bad for Tai, but Nick is unsympathetic. He tries to pretend to care about Tai, but Anna sees right through his demeanor. Anna says Nick is fake and someone she cannot trust. She wants Nick gone first. She approaches Caleb about voting Nick out if they were to lose immunity. She tells him the three girls are very close and they want to work with him. Caleb seems okay with the plan and agrees. In his confessional, he says it won’t necessarily be a bad thing to vote Nick out since it won’t be his head on the chopping block.

Back on the Brawn tribe, Scot is looking for the hidden immunity idol since he does not trust Alecia. Meanwhile, Alecia finds a clue to the hidden immunity idol! She learns the idol is buried under a tree, and she decides to share this with Cydney. The two of them start digging. However, Jason notices them digging and learns that they are looking for the idol. While digging, Cydney sees the chest with the lock and tells Alecia to go get a tool to continue digging. She doesn’t want Alecia to know about the chest. However, she sees that a key is required to unlock it so she goes back to camp. Since she knows Jason saw them digging, she tells him and Scot everything. She doesn’t want them to think she’s aligned with Alecia. Everyone begins hunting for the idol, and Jason finds the map to it. He now must knock the idol out of a tree like Tai had to do. While Jason and Scot tie sticks together to knock it down, Alecia shows up and sees what they are doing. They knock the idol down, and Jason and Alecia scramble for it. Jason gets the idol. Alecia was the one who found the clue, but Jason was unfortunately the one who got the idol. He and Scot also learn about the possibility of the idol becoming more powerful when two halves are connected.

It’s time for the immunity challenge. They must deliver bags of rice from the water to the beach that each contains a ball inside it. They will have to use the balls to maneuver a maze while balancing on a beam and place the three balls in a designated slot. The first two tribes to finish the puzzle will win immunity and reward. The first place tribe gets to choose which reward they want between comfort items or emotional items. Anna and Michele and Aubry and Joe sit out for their respective tribes. The challenge begins with the tribe members jumping off a platform and into the water. Neal, Caleb, and Scot get on the boat. They hand the bags of rice to their tribe members. They all must now make their way through an obstacle in the water that requires pushing the bags of rice through a fence-like wall. Beauty is in the lead as Brain falls behind. The Beauty tribe is the first to make it to the beach, and Julia is the first to work on the maze. She gets the ball into the slot and Tai takes over for her to get the Beauty tribe’s second ball in the slot. The other tribes reach the beach with their bags of rice too. They gets the balls out of the bags too. Cydney is the first to start the maze for the Brawn tribe, but she keeps failing. Jason takes over for Cydney as Tai gets the second ball in the slot. Caleb begins on third ball as Liz gets the first ball in the Brain tribe’s slot. Caleb gets his ball in the slot. The Beauty tribe wins immunity! Jason soon gets the first ball for Brawn. Scot takes over to get their second ball in the slot. Peter gets the second ball in, and Scot gets his ball in too. It’s now a showdown between Cydney and Debbie. It’s extremely close, but by seconds Cydney gets her ball in first. The Brawn wins immunity! The Brain tribe will go to tribal council tonight. Beauty chooses comfort items. Brawn gets the emotional items.

The Brain tribe returns to camp. Peter and Liz have agreed to vote out Neal and they are confident everyone will be on board with the plan. Liz tells Debbie the plan about splitting the votes between Aubry and Neal. However, Debbie tells Neal the plan. Unbeknownst to Peter and Liz, the entire tribe is onto them and are targeting them instead. However, Peter and Liz are so confident that their plan will be effective. In his confessional, Peter says his tribe members are indecisive and he’s providing them with information on what to do. Aubry calls Peter way too controlling. Aubrey says Peter has no emotional intelligence. She knows Debbie wants Liz gone, but she wants Peter gone. She tries to get Debbie to vote out Peter. She seems open to the idea as she agrees Peter could be big trouble down the line. Debbie says tonight will be a total blindside.

It’s time for tribal council. Peter says he has clicked with everyone, but Joe and Debbie at first. He said it was simply an age issue, but says everyone is close now. Jeff asks if there are three pairs as a result of the age differences? Peter says yes as he and Liz are close, Debbie and Joe are close, and Neal and Aubry are close. Jeff asks them about their approach to the game, and Debbie says they are overly analytical. Aubry discusses picking up on the social interactions. Jeff asks Liz about paranoia. She says paranoia is a strong word, but everyone has to at least be somewhat paranoid in this game. Jeff asks Joe about his career and talks about not judging a book by its cover. Peter says Joe is from a generation that makes him find Joe trustworthy. Peter says the plan is in place. Which plan is Peter talking about, Neal wonders rhetorically. “Well, it’s not your plan,” Peter candidly tells Neal. Peter says either Neal or Aubry will be leaving. He calls out Neal as a potential snake. However, the rest of the tribe is silently smirking to Peter and Liz’s cocky attitude.

It’s time for the vote. We see Liz vote for Aubry. We don’t see who Debbie votes for, but she says “the world does not revolve around you” when she casts her vote.

Jeff reads the votes. The first vote is for…

Aubry

Aubry

Peter

Peter

Liz

Liz

It’s a three-way tie. Aubry, Peter, and Liz will not vote as everyone votes again.

Jeff reads the votes again. The first vote is for…
