Survivor 30 Worlds Apart – Episode 6 Live Blog

A new episode of Survivor airs tonight on CBS. Read a live recap here.

The episode begins with the morning after Max’s blindside. Shirin was blindsided by her ally Max’s elimination too, and she approaches Carolyn and asks if she will play the game with her. Carolyn turns her down, and Shirin is disappointed that no one is willing to work with her in the game. She also asks Hali her thoughts, and Hali candidly reveals to her that the tribe found Shirin to be rather annoying.

Over at the Escameca tribe, Rodney is tired of being around the same people and was hoping to form bonds with some new people in the tribe switch-up. After seeing how much he and Joaquin have in common, he forms an alliance with him and even calls it a bromance.

Reward challenge time. They must race up a tower and through some obstacles to launch sandbags at six target that will raise a flag when they’re hit. The first tribe to hit all six targets will win a feast, as well as observing sea turtles in their natural habitat. It’s a close match between both tribes, but it’s Nagarote that wins reward.

We next see Nagarote enjoying the feast won by the reward challenge. Shirin knows she is on the outs of the tribe, so she makes an effort to bond with her tribemates during the meal and while observing the sea turtles later at night.

Back at Escameca, Joaquin and Sierra talk about Dan. Sierra says she does not get along with him and Joaquin is excited about bringing her into his alliance with Tyler. However, an issue strikes when Joaquin wants to stick with Rodney, but Sierra wants nothing to do with Rodney. Joaquin doesn’t want to stick with Joe since he’s too much of a threat, so Joaquin wants a four-person alliance with him, Rodney, Sierra, and Tyler. But Sierra might not be on board since she does not like Rodney at all. Later, Rodney approaches Mike about throwing the challenge to get out Joe. Mike is hesitant about it, but reveals in a confessional that it might not be a bad idea to keep Kelly safe (who is on the other tribe).

Immunity challenge time. It’s a memory-based challenge. One person will face off against another person and see a set of items. They will have to then race back and recreate the set of items in the exact same order. The first round is Carolyn versus Rodney. Carolyn gets the point. Next is Hali versus Sierra. Hali gets the point. Will and Joe are up next. It takes three points to win, so Will could win the challenge for his tribe right now. However, Joe gets the point. Next is Shirin versus Dan. Dan gets the point. It’s a tied game now. The next match-up will decide the winning tribe. It’s Kelly versus Mike. Mike clearly throws the challenge, but Kelly gets it wrong too. They will have to try again, and Mike reveals to Kelly that he’s throwing the challenge to her. They are both wrong again. They will try again for a third time. Mike throws the challenge once again and Nagarote wins immunity.

Escameca returns to camp. Even though the plan to throw the challenge was to take out Joe, Mike is starting to doubt Rodney. He notices how tight Rodney and Joaquin are now and thinks they needs to be separated. Mike and Dan both tell Joe that he is being targeted by Rodney and Joaquin. However, Sierra is going to be the swing vote. Mike and Dan approach her about siding with them. But Sierra really dislikes Dan and knows she is just being used for her vote. She admits in a confessional that she’s playing both sides and doesn’t know which alliance she will side with.

Tribal Council time. Jeff asks if the former blue collar tribe is a strong alliance, but Joe says that it wasn’t and he adds how he, Joaquin, and Tyler saw an opening for themselves. As well, Sierra reveals that she did not get along with her former tribemates. But she also admits that she’ll consider all of her options before it’s time to vote. It will either be Joe or Joaquin voted out tonight, but who will it be?

By a vote of 3-4, Joaquin is voted out of Survivor: Worlds Apart.

And that wraps up another episode of Survivor: Worlds Apart! Thanks for reading and come back next week for another live recap!
