Same deal as last week. I won’t be live blogging So You Think You Can Dance tonight because of “The Voice” final results show. Next week I’ll be back to putting up a more thorough review.
Kristin Chenoweth and Lil C were the guest judges tonight. Kristin had no constructive criticism, but she was funny, articulate and knowledgeable even as she gushed about each pair.
Videos: IdolXFactor
Sasha Mallory and Alexander Fost – Contemporary – Dee Caspary – “Belong”, Cary Brothers – Beautiful, balletic and moving. Sasha plays a memory to Alexander’s lonely musician. Gorgeous. Nigel liked Sasha more than Alex–he feels he’s not connecting yet.

Caitlynn Lawson and Mitchell Kelly – Samba – Jean-Marc Genereux – “Put It A Love Song”, Alicia Keys Featuring Beyoncé – Caitlyn is HOT AS HELL. Shake those hips. Mary says the speakers in the studio were blown out by those hips! Then she forgot Caitlyn’s name. She loved Mitchell, too. SHUT THE DOOR says Kristin. Nigel calls Mitchell “the Chris Rock of So You Think You Can Dance.”

Miranda Maleski and Robert Taylor Jr. – Broadway – Tyce DiOrio – “It Don’t Mean A Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing)”, Sophisticated Ladies – Miranda plays a classy ho. Oh Tyce. Homegurl’s got spunk, and Robert has the perfect personality for Broadway. Broadway babe, Kristin, thought they killed it. “With legs like that, who needs arms, ” Lil’ C says to Miranda. Nigel thought they were fabulous. Nigel was all OMG HIP HOP DANCER to Robert, who he says is improving.

Melanie Moore and Marko Germar – Lyrical Hip-Hop – Tabitha and Napoleon – “I Got You”, Leona Lewis – That dance? Was absolutely beautiful. Lil C called them a Power Couple–a limited edition set of Swiss Army Knives. The dance, about two friends who fall in love moved Nigel to plant a big wet one on Mary! And Kristin laid one on Lil C. LOVE ALL AROUND! Nigel calls them the couple to beat.

Ashley Rich and Chris Koehl – Jazz – Sonya Tayeh – “Lights Go Down (District 78 Remix)”, Telepathe – Nigel says he’s going to do something he tells his Idol judges not to do. Don’t criticize the song, criticize the singing (interesting!). He didn’t “get” the music Sonya picked for the piece. He didn’t think Ashley and Chris took the characters far enough. I thought the music was fine, and liked the piece just fine. I thought the dancers performed it beautifully. The rest of the panel liked it. “I don’t mean to be the Paula Abdul of So You Think You Can Dance, ” says Kristin, “You’re blowing my mind.” Lil C calls Ashley “the sleeper cell of the competion, ” because he never notices her until she dances.

Clarice Ordaz and Jess LeProtto – Foxtrot – Jean-Marc Genereux – “Fly Me To The Moon”, Frank Sinatra – Very charming, especially Jess. He’s compulsively watchable. Mary loved it. Kristin compared Jess to Gene Kelly and Lil C is a phenom.

Ryan Ramirez and Ricky Jaime – Contemporary – Sonya Tayeh – “With Every Heartbeat (Acoustic)”, Robyn – This dance is the story of the fight to let go says Sonya. The pair perform with a long black tie, attached to Ryan’s top, which she cannot unravel completely, to signify the struggle. Lil C says they murder it every week. Nigel is really happy that he kept the pair last week. A beautiful, lyrical piece from Sonya, who is one of my favorite SYTYCD choreographers.

Jordan Casanova and Tadd Gadduang – Hip-Hop – Tabitha and Napoleon – “Memories”, David Guetta Featuring Kid Cudi – Hm. I didn’t love this quite as much as the judges did. The pair play a couple who wake up in bed together after a one night stand. It’s a little silly. I wasn’t totally impressed by Jordan’s hip hop skillz.
