Scotty McCreery Celebrates His Birthday In Raleigh, Receives Gold Record, SIngs Anthem

Scotty McCreery celebrated his 18th birthday and the release of his debut CD with a huge bash in front of a hometown crowd in Raleigh North Carolina this morning.

Scotty was presented  with a gold record for his coronation single, “I Love You This Big” and then the crowd of 20, 000 sang happy birthday.  The Idol winner was also presented with a cake.  Reportedly, Scotty  got a little teary-eyed! Aw.  Scotty thanked his fans and took questions from the audience.

He and his band played a set for the crowd, opening with the Keith Urban cover,   “A Walk In the Country”.   Other songs included in the set were his new single, “The Trouble With Girls”,   “Water Tower Town”,   “That Old King James” and “I Love You This Big.”

Later, Scotty sang the National Anthem before the at the Central Michigan at NC State football game at Carter-Finley Stadium. Scotty has been a life long Wolfpack fan!
