Fifteen years after making Idol a summer sensation, Kelly Clarkson is still going strong. Last Friday she released her 8th studio album and she will have the second best selling album of the week. “Meaning of Life” would likely have been number one except for a massive ticket bundle offered by Kenny Chesney. The album is anchored by its debut single “Love so Soft” which is top 10 on HAC, 13th on AC and 23rd on Pop.
Also on the chart this week is last week’s former number one, Niall Horan. “Flicker” remains in the top 10 of the combined chart at 7th and is 13th on sales. Lauren Jauregui is featured on a track on Halsey’s album which is 50th in sales and 33rd on combined.
New music Friday features an album from last season’s AGT winner, Grace VanderWaal. Her album, “Just the Beginning” is sitting at 5th on iTunes. Also releasing this week are two coaches from The Voice. Adam Levine’s Maroon 5 are second on the iTunes chart this morning while Blake Shelton is 4th. Should lead to some traded barbs on the show? A new NOW (NOW 64) was released this week featuring tracks from Liam Payne and Zayn Malik.
