Harry Styles, former member of One Direction, is set to dominate both the sales and combined charts this week to debut at number one. The Zac Brown Band (Country) will settle for second with pretty great numbers on their own. Also debuting this week are Paramore (Alt Rock), Machine Gun Kelly (Rapper who recently had a hit with former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello when she was still with the group) and New Kids on the Block.
Pentatonix continues on the sales chart with their latest release at number 38. Zayn (formerly of One Direction), Carrie Underwood (dueting with former Idol Judge Keith Urban) and Camila Cabello (formerly of Fifth Harmony) are all on the latest NOW album (Now 62) which is 11th in sales and 16th in combined. Zayn also appears on the “Fifty Shades Darker” soundtrack at 26th in sales and 34th combined. Carrie is on Keith’s album at 35th/46th and Camila is on MGK’s album at 6th/3rd. Tori Kelly is on the “Sing” soundtrack at 31st/48th.
Liam Payne is the last member of One Direction to release a solo single and he released “Strip That Down” featuring Quavo this morning. The song is a co-write with Ed Sheeran (who also appears on the track in a “secret” cameo) and Steve Mac. It was dropped last night and is racing up the iTunes chart to number one (sitting at number 2 at time of writing):
Lyrics like “You Know I Used to be in 1D – Now I’m Out Free” are bound to create some buzz.
Camila Cabello is the first former member of Fifth Harmony to release a solo song (she’s done some features/duets when still with the group). “Crying in the Club” is currently 12th. It’s tough to find the official video amongst all the “OMG Reaction” videos. She has some excited fans. I think this is it:
