The trailer for the Adam Shankman directed, Rock of Ages movie musical was released today. The all-star cast includes Alec Baldwin, Catharine Zeta-Jones (in what looks like a gender flip from the Broadway musical), Mary J. Blige, Paul Giamatti, Russell Brand and Tom Cruise as the ROCK STAR Stacey Jax. Julianne Hough and newcomer, Diego Boneta play the young protagonists.
I saw the Broadway musical, starring Constantine Maroulis, here in Boston and it was great fun. Something tells me I’ll be disappointed by the film, but you never know.
If you’re a Tom Cruise fan, you’re going to have to wade through the whole clip. He’s not revealed until the very end. And although Constantine shot a cameo, he’s not featured here.
