Randy Jackson dropped into the Today show studios this morning to give Meredith Vieira his take on the Top 3.
Randy thinks Allison Iraheta was eliminated because she didn’t have the “star potential” of the others.
Adam Lambert, says Randy, is a “superstar waiting to happen” and that in the next couple of weeks, Adam needs to show America what kind of album he’s going to make.
Randy compares Kris Allen to more “understated” performers like Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat and feels it’s clear what kind of record he’ll make post-Idol.
Danny Gokey can sing anything, but Randy also has questions about the kind record he’ll make. He thinks Danny will give Adam a run for his money–a hint that he anticipates a Danny/Adam final.
Randy thinks that Kara DioGuardi will be back next year.
When Meredith asks him about Paula’s drug problems as revealed in this month’s Ladies Home Journal, it was obvious he didn’t get the memo that Paula denies she said it, and still maintains she’s never used drugs. “My heart just goes out to her, ” says Randy, “to deal with any sort of addiction is tough.” OOPS!
