Monday nights have traditionally been a busy night of reality TV. New midseason announcements from NBC and ABC confirm the tradition will continue.
First, The Bachelor starring Nick Viall will premiere on ABC Monday January 2. I know ya’ll just CAN’T WAIT to see Nick on your TVs for the third time. Heh.
When Bachelorette Andi Dorfman said goodbye to Nick Viall just as he was preparing to pick out a ring for her, he was devastated. When Nick walked up to Kaitlyn Bristowe with an engagement ring in his pocket, only to be sent home, he was crushed. How could one man endure so much heartbreak? If you believe that “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,” Nick Viall, 35, a technology salesman from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is back stronger than ever, ready and eager to begin his search for true love on the 21st season of ABC’s hit romance reality series The Bachelor, premiering on MONDAY, JANUARY 2 (8:00-10:01 p.m. EST), on the ABC Television Network.
Over on NBC, Monday is a strong night of TV, thanks to the popularity of The Voice. NBC confirms the competition reality show will keep its Monday/Tuesday schedule. Season 12 premieres on February 27. The fall series Timeless will make way for Taken that same day.
NBC has set its midseason Monday strategy in motion with the extension of #1-rated Monday drama Timeless, bringing the full-season order to 16; plus the premiere of its highly anticipated new action series Taken, which will launch Monday, Feb. 27 at 10 p.m. The series, starring international superstar Clive Standen, immediately follows the debut of the spring cycle of the three-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series The Voice.
The upcoming 12th cycle of The Voice will feature the return of Gwen Stefani as well as season 11 coaches Alicia Keys, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Stefani was previously a coach in seasons seven and nine and was an adviser for seasons eight and 10.
Don’t forget: Prior to The Voice 12 premiere, The New Celebrity Apprentice will air in The Voice’s Monday timeslot beginning January 2.
The schedule will look like this. All times at 8 pm et/pt:
Monday January 2 Premieres
ABC The Bachelor
NBC The Celebrity Apprentice
Monday February 27 Premiers
NBC The Voice 12
(Dancing with the Stars premiere date is not official yet, but will likely begin after The Bachelor finale)
