Kelly Clarkson continues to prove why 19 was very lucky to have her win the first season of Idol. She’s storming the charts and taking no prisoners with her debut single from her fifth album. “Mr. Know It All” has the largest spincrease on HAC (by a massive margin) and a spincrease of over 1000 on Pop. She skipped over top 40 on Pop and went straight for top 30 and also achieved that milestone on AC. The song is already Top 30 in 3 formats and it doesn’t even go for adds until this week.
With the number of Idols dwindling from the charts, Kelly was the only one to reach milestones this week. Where are all those fall singles we were promised? Chris Richardson and Kellie Pickler return to the top 15 and top 30 of Rhythmic and Country respectively. Scotty’s coronation single goes recurrent on Country. Danny Gokey’s debut single from his sophomore album disappears from view, but that is common with songs around the top 50 mark because there is a lot of bouncing around there. Jennifer’s “Don’t Look Down” which really isn’t a single yet slid off the UAC chart, but her real single is still charting there.
