Three milestones this week – UK-XF and Idol representing.
The five lads from all over the UK launch their second single from “Midnight Memories” directly into the top 40 on Top 40. “Story of My Life” went for adds last week and the video was officially released yesterday (closing in on 10M views this morning – probably would have been more if it hadn’t have leaked). Will this be the song that gets them their first top 10 song on Pop radio? Lots of competition with singles to support the powerful Q4 album release period (they are releasing their third studio album in November).
Jennifer Hudson’s debut single from her third studio album is steadily moving up the UAC chart with a milestone a week. It is the third week “I Can’t Describe” has been on the chart and it has now achieved top 20.
Finally, as with every week, Mandisa sits atop the CAC chart. “Overcomer” (debut and title single from the album) spends its 7th week at the top of the CAC chart. She’s still almost 300 spins ahead of the song in second. She’s only dropping 32 spins a week and Big Daddy Weave is gaining 14. Quite simply, she’s probably there until the Christmas songs take over the chart.
