Monday Morning Mediabase Update: May 7-13

Lots and lots of milestones this week. Let’s start with Carrie Underwood. The top of the Country chart is always a log jam as each act seems to take a turn for their week at number one. Carrie seems poised to have her spot at the top (as she has so many times before) and achieved top 5 on the chart this week with the debut single off of her fourth album. “Good Girl” also went top 30 on HAC and top 40 on AC.

Carley Rae Jepsen from Canadian Idol also managed a trio of milestones. Her US debut single, “Call Me Maybe” went top 10 on Pop, top 15 on HAC and top 50 on AC.

Next up for multiple-ish milestones is Kris Allen. His debut single, “The Vision of Love”, from his second album actually officially went top 40 on HAC last week, but due to the time I sampled the chart, it wasn’t on our chart. Sorry about that. It’s now firmly in the top 40 and has returned to the top 50 chart on AC.

Daughtry’s second single sent to mainstream from their third album went top 30 on HAC. Mandisa’s third single, “Good Morning” went top 30 on CAC. One Direction’s massive US debut single, “What Makes You Beautiful” is even winning over the adults with a top 50 on AC. And UK X-Factor’s Cheryl Lloyd and her annoying grunting song makes top 50 on Pop.
