Monday Morning Mediabase Update: Jun 3-9

There are four milestones this week from three American Idol winners.

Kelly Clarkson, the contestant that started it all, has two milestones for her second single off her Greatest Hits album. “People Like Us” goes top 10 on HAC and top 30 on Pop. The song is top 30 in three formats.

From first to last – Phillip Phillips (okay, Candice is the last winner, but she has yet to receive a radio push). The American Idol Season 11 winner achieves top 15 on AC with his second single “Gone, Gone, Gone”. His first single is still charting in the top 10 in that format and it dominated the charts for many weeks.

Fantasia rounds out our trio of Idol winners with milestones. Her second single from her fourth album went top 50 on Rhythmic. “Without You” featuring X-Factor judge Kelly Rowland is also top 20 on Urban. Her first single is in the top 5 on UAC and climbing.

This week Cassadee Pop, third winner of The Voice’s US franchise, goes for adds on Country. She’s the first winner they’ve actually tried to do much with, so it will be interesting to see what happens today. Scott Borchetta is managing the radio push and he is a total Country radio Jedi. I suspect he will be up to his usual efforts and there will be a significant number of adds today. Helping him out was the big sales boom for the single after her performance. Not helping her is the swift decline in sales showing the effects of reality singing show fan purchasing patterns.
