Monday Morning Mediabase 07/03/2017

Nine milestones to discuss this week on the Monday Morning Mediabase update.

Due to technical difficulties at AllAccess last weekend, we missed getting a radio update. So, we’ll track milestones for the last two weeks. The “()” are last week’s ranking and the “[]” is the ranking from two weeks ago (if there is no “[]”, the song wasn’t on the chart two weeks ago). So, there are a lot of milestones…

Niall Horan had the most movement since we last checked in. “Slow Hands” is his second single for his TBA album (he keeps saying it will be released in October or November). Niall’s first single “This Town” achieved at least top 15 in all three mainstream formats and looks to be repeating that with “Slow Hands”. Last week, the song moved into the top 15 on Pop and HAC while also moving top 40 on AC.

James Arthur won the UK XF in 2012 and is having success in the US with his sophomore album. “Say You Won’t Let Go” went to the top of the HAC chart and is top 5 on Pop. The follow-up song is “Can I Be Him” which debuted on HAC this week.

Fifth Harmony is from the X-Factor US franchise. Their debut song from their third album is “Down”. The song moved into the top 30 on Pop last week.

Carrie Underwood duetted with Keith Urban on “The Fighter”. The song is naturally charting on Country, but this week, it also debuted on AC.

Another Country artist moving up the charts is Lauren Alaina who is featured on Kane Brown’s “What Ifs”. The song moved into the top 30 on Country last week.

Our final Idol on the chart marking milestones is Mandisa from Season 5. Her “Unfinished” moved into the top 5 on CAC this week. It it is the debut single from her sixth studio album “Out of the Dark”.

From AGT, we have Lindsey Stirling. Her “Love’s Just a Feeling” hit top 20 on AC last week, but has fallen back this week.

Meanwhile, over on the album charts, we have the winner in the “Streaming vs Sales” battle and the winner is streaming. DJ Khaled has the number one album this week with “Grateful” and Imagine Dragons will have to settle for number one on the album sales chart.
