Four Milestones to celebrate this morning.
Camila Cabello’s “Crying in the Club” hits top 20 on Pop this week. This is her first top 20 solo single, but she’s been their before with hit collaborations and her former band Fifth Harmony. Fifth Harmony also notches a milestone this week with their new song “Down”. That song enters the HAC chart at 50th.
There is another song this week debuting at 50th. Niall Horan’s “Slow Hands” appears on the AC chart. His “This Town” is still in the top 15 in that format. Also making waves this week on the AC chart is James Arthur. His American debut “Say You Won’t Let Go” enters the top 5 on AC. The song has been top 5 in all three mainstream format hitting number one on HAC. He has two songs loaded in the chamber to be sent for adds next week.
Billboard reports that Katy Perry has her third number one album with Witness. The album moved 180K equivalent albums and 162 actual albums.
Billboard also introduces new rules for compilation albums – they can only chart based on traditional album sales, not TEAs and SEAs. That means albums that were on the top 10 last week (like “Summer of Latin Hits 2017” and “Epic AF”) fell off the chart this week. This does not apply to compilation albums with original content or soundtrack/cast albums.
