  1. I have my copy, too! LIU is really an amazing album, I love it! Lee is a great talent and this is just the beginning for him! :)

Here’s the link to the up-to-the-minute ranking of albums on Itunes (up to #1000) if any of the Lee fans want to obsessively check it..not that I’ve done that for Adam’s album heh heh

:) Thanks for the laugh! Cause I was here last year!

Amazon just updated and LIU went from #27 to #28. It has been moving from #28 to #26 all day. So basically selling steadily.

  3. LOL — I think I stared at and refreshed iTunes every 5 seconds for 4 hours straight when Kris’ album dropped last year — ahh, memories :D

So a word to the wise for all of Lee’s fans — good luck on the iTunes chart — but watch out for carpal tunnel!

They better fix this itunes thing. Ugh. Annoying.

I think Kris’ album was not up until 4:30AM ET or something. I am sure girlygirl remembers. But then it was fine.

  5. Lee’s competition all have their albums on Itunes and have big banners as well. Does this mean Lee won’t have an ad on the main page? It wouldn’t surprise me with all the bigger names releasing this week and vying for those banners.

Lee’s competition all have their albums on Itunes and have big banners as well. Does this mean Lee won’t have an ad on the main page? It wouldn’t surprise me with all the bigger names releasing this week and vying for those banners.

They sometimes run the banners only after release but I don’t see any iTunes ads for Lee at all and that is unusual.

Adam who was also RCA did not have much in the way of ads on iTunes — mostly they focused on promoting the CD.

19% of Adam’s first week sales were digital albums, 21% of Cooks first week was digital sales.

So assuming 20% of Lee’s first week sales are digital and since iTunes has 69% share of digital sales — that would make iTunes about 14% of sales. Walmart will be about twice that — and Lee is on the video there.

  7. You know, with so many big names releasing, it’s doubtful Lee will be in the top 10 BB 200 this week. Plus, he’s going to sell the lowest number of albums for an idol winner no matter what. I’m not saying this to be pessimistic, I think those were the facts on the table RCA went with. I’m sure the numbers are all fuzzy, but if the promo it takes to sell, say 10k more copies of LIU isn’t going worth the extra 10k in revenue, especially since promo might be more expensive this week, it doesn’t make a lot of business sense to blow the budget on it. Personally, I’d rather them have a modest roll-out for the holidays, and save $ for radio promo. At least I hope RCA is planning on radio promo…

  8. Is LIU all jacked up on iTunes? I can’t even see the album. Its missing for me. From the store, I see slumberland, etc. just not LIU.

  9. Forget the iTunes chart, with millions of Rihanna stans constantly clicking to get their minute-by-minute update on Loud, I’m sure the system will be slow and probably crash out; like the singles chart did the week SS released with Ke$ha’s latest mega-hit.

  10. Koska:

I’m not seeing it at all on itune either. I preordered it.

The only thing I see from the new album when I do a search for Lee is Sweet Serendipity.

  11. Lee’s album isn’t showing up on i-tunes for me either. what is up with that?

  12. Still no Lee on iTunes. This is a major screw up on somebody’s part. They are losing sales.

  13. At this point, they are not losing sales. It is the fanbase buying right now, and Lee’s hardcore fans aren’t going to give up. It would be different if there was a big ITunes banner up, and people couldn’t find the song.

  14. The rumor is that Apple will announce this morning that Beatles music will be available on iTunes for the first time. I wonder if that will affect Lee’s and other current artists ranking in BB200.
The reason Lee’s album is not listed could be that Apple is doing the upgrade/redesign for the Beatles announcement.

ETA: I just counted 12 Beatles albums in the iTunes Top 100 less than an hour after they became available. It might be just a spike but still impressive.

  15. The reason Lee’s album is not listed could be that Apple is doing the upgrade/redesign for the Beatles announcement.

That makes no sense because all the other artists releasing music today are listed.

  16. That makes no sense because all the other artists releasing music today are listed.

Well, it might. Say there was some kind of glitch that prevented Lee’s song from being listed last night, but the rest of the new songs went through glitch free. Then, the staff got busy getting the Beatles stuff ready for release and haven’t had time to get around to fixing the glitch. So, the Beatles wouldn’t have caused Lee not to be listed in the first place, but perhaps they are what is preventing it from being fixed in a more timely manner.

I wonder if that will affect Lee’s and other current artists ranking in BB200.

Digital sales are still dwarfed by physical sales. I’m not sure they could sell enough to get near the top of the chart, but they will definitely be in the top 200. I have to think that most people who wanted The Beatles on their iPods would have loaded their physical copies into their iTunes long ago.

  17. Ugh this is ridiculous. I would have NO problem with the delay if it wasn’t for all the other new releases up there and charting. I know Lee can’t compete with them sales wise but its still bad. And as its been said its fun for Idol fans to obsessively check itunes for movement.

One of the best things ever was being at DC’s release party and he got the news right there the album went to #1 on itunes (apparently HE was refreshing itunes all day lol). Ah good times.

I’m actually excited about the Beatles announcement but this crap is annoying me. Has a winner ever not had an itunes ad or banner? Lots of competition is no excuse because often they have several albums on rotating banners.

  18. I pre-ordered the album off Lee’s site to get “Only Dreaming.” I can’t find a link for people to download their pre-orders there. Any suggestions?

  19. LOL! Let me pick myself up off of the floor – I was ROFL about that VH1 blog.

  20. LOL — I think I stared at and refreshed iTunes every 5 seconds for 4 hours straight when Kris’ album dropped last year — ahh, memories

So a word to the wise for all of Lee’s fans — good luck on the iTunes chart — but watch out for carpal tunnel!

that’s funny GG and yeah ..memories :D

    have fun Lee’s fans

  21. I pre-ordered the album off Lee’s site to get “Only Dreaming.” I can’t find a link for people to download their pre-orders there. Any suggestions?

Look for your email you got when you pre-ordered, click on the order number and it will take you to the download area. Only dreaming bonus does not download, might be another email later for the download link.

  22. I was ROFL about that VH1 blog.

Why do they ‘do’ that! Just for controversial blog hits? It does no one any favors, and makes VH1 look like a pile of unflattering nouns and adjectives.

Hope the iTunes SNAFU doesn’t turn into a FUBAR – they are capable of it – and be sure they will blame it on the Label. But the numbers will shake out eventually.

Wishing Lee well with his sales.

  23. When I preordered from Sony, I got an email with the link to the song “Live It Up” which arrived late in the afternoon of the day they’d announced it would be available. So I’m guessing the Only Dreaming e-mail will be late, like everything else.

  24. Maybe there was some issue with Only Dreaming specifically — perhaps all the paperwork was not done. Because LIU is everywhere but iTunes.

Regarding The Beatles on iTunes — IMO that should really effect too much on the album charts since iTunes is a small part of album sales (14% share) — mostly they sell tracks.

  25. Lee just tweeted:

    LeeDeWyze Lee DeWyze
It’s good to know that you all have my back, I have the best fans in the world. But hey the album is out, I couldn’t be happier:)

I can’t say I expected my morning to start like this, but it will be up when it’s up and thanks for hanging. Spread the word. Love you guys!

  26. Must be tough for Lee — ready for his big album launch — then iTunes is f’ed up!

If this is an iTunes issue, they owe him some big banners for free! :)

  27. If this is an iTunes issue, they owe him some big banners for free!

Totally agree. Either they really F’ed up or RCA really F’ed up. It really sucks for Lee though.

  28. If this is an iTunes issue, they owe him some big banners for free!

Those banners are like gold. You have to put in your bid for them well in advance. If iTunes had to give out free banners for every little hiccup, the banners would be nothing but make-up banners for random acts.

The number of iTunes gripes I’ve read about just from Idol fans are legion. It happens. People will buy the CD if they want it even if they have to wait a day or two. It’s not like iTunes is the only vendor.

  29. iTunes is known for its problems. If they had to give free banners to every act whose release they somehow screwed up, they’d be out of business :D

Does stink for Lee and his fans, although there’s still Amazon, WalMart, Best Buy, etc.

  30. Its easy to shrug off this screwup when its not one of your favorites. If this was one of the more popular Idols around here all hell would be breaking lose. Lee didn’t get advertising in Walmart or Target flyers on top of this, can you understand why fans, and obviously Lee is frustrated?

  31. At Walmart.com Lee is not listed with the other big names under New Music. He has a small picture at the bottom of the page advertising his souncheck.

  32. Finally at 12:05 PM I got an e-mail from Apple and was able to download my preorder. But others have heard nothing. Itunes middle school interns are probably notifying people one at a time. When I search for Lee on Itunes nothing comes up but his old stuff.
Slumberland has risen to #24 on pop albums, so I guess some people searching for Lee’s album are buying it.
Oh course his fans will search elsewhere, but this is bound to hurt his sales from TV appearances and press stories about his debut. Itunes sales are often impulsive purchases. If there were a mandatory 24 hour waiting period for Glee purchases, I’m sure their sales wouldn’t be so high.

  33. Its easy to shrug off this screwup when its not one of your favorites. If this was one of the more popular Idols around here all hell would be breaking lose. Lee didn’t get advertising in Walmart or Target flyers on top of this, can you understand why fans, and obviously Lee is frustrated?

Lee’s not a fav, but I do feel bad about his itunes screwup.

  34. At Walmart.com Lee is not listed with the other big names under New Music. He has a small picture at the bottom of the page advertising his souncheck

He has the rolling ad on the music section of walmart, with the sound check video’s. Still no itunes download for me and no email from Itunes!

  35. Its easy to shrug off this screwup when its not one of your favorites.

It’s easy to do when it’s your favourite too. People who want the album will get it. I went to no less than 8 stores last year to get the CD that my Mom wanted for Christmas. This weekend, I went to two stores for the DVD I wanted. I just don’t think there is a lot of album impulse buying on iTunes. Tracks, yes. Albums, no. $1.29 is an impulse. Buying an entire album when you could just buy the tracks you like takes thought. In the bricks-and-mortar store, tossing an extra sale CD in your basket seems like an impulse. So, I think the people who want to buy it from iTunes will buy it. Just my opinion.

It all comes out in the wash.

If this was one of the more popular Idols around here all hell would be breaking lose.

Of course. You can get critical mass with lots of posters. All feeding into the frenzy like a crazed feedback loop. I would tell them not to worry either. Literally, it was just a few hours. Crazed feedback loops help no one.

Lee didn’t get advertising in Walmart or Target flyers on top of this, can you understand why fans, and obviously Lee is frustrated?

Lee needs to take that up with the label. Labels broker deals (cheaper pricing, paying for displays, bonus tracks) for prime placement in those flyers. They couldn’t throw in a Walmart bonus track for some ads? A free poster for Target? Well, the label is being cheap. It’s not Walmart or Target who are to blame. That’s how the biz works.

  36. LOL! MJ! You’re late with the time of Lee’s iTunes being available. Haha. Check my post at 12:49 & tweet at 12:48 when I first noticed it. Beat ya for once!!! *wink*

  37. Lee’s album is #2 in pop albums, right behind Josh Groban and #15 overall. This has to be strictly preorders. If you search, you still only get the old stuff. They’ll get it on the page eventually I guess. Maybe he’ll even get an ad, sooner or later.

  38. I think Lee is definately over the moon with the release of the album. The “Itunes” screw up, did’nt make him happy, as indicated by his tweets. I think some of us that bought it through Itunes can download it now, but regardless, the CD is available through so many other outlets, so I guess you could cancel the “Itunes” purchase and just get it elsewhere. Anyway, Congrats Lee, RJ on Drums, Jon on Bass, Chris on Electric Guitar, and Lincoln on the Keyboard…all did a fantastic job on the CD and on the Music Video..

  39. I do feel bad for Lee fans with the Itunes snafu. Checking Itunes is fun for fans and I hope they fix it soon. I remember when Danny’s album was released and it went to #1 on the Itunes overall and country chart after midnight and his fans were thrilled.

  40. Lee’s not a fav, but I do feel bad about his itunes screwup.

In terms of sales, it’s not going to make much of a difference. But in terms of the fan fun and watching the charts? It kinda put a damper on things. Twelve hours can seem like a long time when you’ve been waiting for months for a favs album.

  41. If this was one of the more popular Idols around here all hell would be breaking lose.

But therein lies the rub…Lee isn’t one of the most popular idols. He’s got a small group of loyalists, and a bunch of people who are “meh” about him. If nobody really wanted to buy the cd in the first place, why would all hell break loose just because it wasn’t available?

  42. But therein lies the rub…Lee isn’t one of the most popular idols. He’s got a small group of loyalists, and a bunch of people who are “meh” about him. If nobody really wanted to buy the cd in the first place, why would all hell break loose just because it wasn’t available?

I don’t think you understood what Trina wrote. She said that Lee isn’t one of the most popular idols here.

  43. But therein lies the rub…Lee isn’t one of the most popular idols. He’s got a small group of loyalists, and a bunch of people who are “meh” about him. If nobody really wanted to buy the cd in the first place, why would all hell break loose just because it wasn’t available?

Some of us believe in the spirit of fairness, whether we personally plan on buying Lee’s album or not. Make it available the same time that all albums dropping on 11/16 are loaded on I-Tunes. Simple as that.

  44. # 3 on itunes overall. Are these the pre-orders boosting it, or real-time orders?

  45. I wanted to say, I am not a Lee fan (or nonfan) by any means, but I listened to his album stream and really did like several songs. I think I can’t count myself a fan because I really don’t like the break in his voice when he sings or when he sings high. However, I discovered I am a big fan of his lower range – sounds great recorded! Also enjoyed some of the instrumentation.

    My favorite songs were:

    A Song About Love
    Me and My Jealousy
Stay Here (parts remind me of the music in “I’m Yours” by Mraz)
    Dear Isabelle
The Beautiful Song (can’t remember title)

Don’t really like Sweet Serendipity or Live It Up, but I’m not opposed to giving them a try. Besides – I enjoyed his live performance I watched.

Good luck Lee! You seemed like a cool guy from the two minutes I saw you while we were in line at airport security!

  46. Joyed. It’s Beautiful Like You.
I’m glad you liked Lee’s album I’m also big fan of Lee’s lower range.

RCA isn’t offering a version of LIU with an extra track to Walmart or Target? Yikes, how cheap. Bonus tracks/posters/other small goodies can help new artists, along with favorable pricing for the first 2-3 weeks of release.

Again, all signs point to Universal letting Lee (and by extension, Crystal) twist in the wind now that they don’t work with Idol anymore.

  48. I see that Lee’s album is now #3 on the overall albums chart on Itunes. Good Luck to him. :)

  49. The numbers on Itunes are jumping between 3 and 10 for some reason. Even if it says 10 on front page, if you click on albums it says #3. If I get out and go back in, then its #3 again on front page. Not sure but at least it seems to be somewhere in top 10.

  50. I don’t think you understood what Trina wrote. She said that Lee isn’t one of the most popular idols here.

No I understood. My point was Lee is not particularly popular here, there, or anywhere, thus the lack of outrage or concern over the iTunes snafu. He’s just kind of in the background.

  51. Well, he seems to be quite a bit more popular than some people think, to be selling so well on Itunes. Even his most devoted fans wouldn’t or couldn’t preorder one than one copy of his album from Itunes.

  52. Pure heaven…sitting here listening to Lee’s album. Each song has its own personality, but they all flow together wonderfully! Also, the bonus song from I-Tunes, Say It All Over Again, is great! So glad I preordered! Lee #1 Pop, but also Slumberland is #23 on Pop (#151 overall), and So I’m Told is 150 on Pop. Lots of great things happening for Lee!

  53. Hopefully he’ll sell well, good luck Lee. Looks like Most of the fans were saving their money for the album instead of the single.

What does everyone think the Next single(s) should be? Me and My Jealously and Beautiful Like You or It’s Gotta Be Love for me…

  54. There is an itunes banner under the music heading that I just saw.

M&MJ is probably my pick at the moment for the next single.

  55. The rank on the iTunes front page is usually slightly out of date. The real time rank is on the feed. I don’t have a link. Last I checked, it was #4 overall.

I am not a fan, but I found some things to enjoy on the record. I am considering some individual tracks.

  56. The idols are so nice, supporting each other. David Cook just tweeted a link to buy Lee’s album on itunes and I saw a tweet earlier from Carly Smithson telling people to go buy Lee’s album. Andrew, Katie, and Didi also tweeted about it.

  57. Lee’s banner is up on iTune!

Btw, does Lee only has 1 version of the album for sale? No deluxe version?

  58. i’m not a big fan, but Me and my j. is a great song, my favorite ;)

  59. justapixy, so far, the only other one I know of is through Sony. It has “Only Dreaming” as a bonus track.

  60. David has been really sweet and supportive. He was one of the first to congratulate him on his win and he also tweeted when SS went up for sale :) I think they’ve become friends the last few months.

  61. I love it when I see the Idols supporting each other. They all just want to see each other succeed *tear* I’m now under the impression that David is the sweetest human alive (don’t rain on my parade lol) He always seems to be one of the 1st to support his fellow Idols. Way cool.

Anyway, Go Lee! : ) I don’t care what the results end up, but right now he’s competing with the big dogs and hanging in there; lots of stifffff competition. For someone who is from the “worst season ever” and the “worst winner ever” and blah blah blah that’s a big ol positive for me.

  62. I’m now under the impression that David is the sweetest human alive (don’t rain on my parade lol) He always seems to be one of the 1st to support his fellow Idols. Way cool.

I know, David is like the nicest guy ever. That’s why he will always be one of my favorites. Well him and Kelly are tied for 1st place in my book.

  63. The album is fine and seems to be selling decently which is good for lee. But what really pisses me off is that with the exception of a couple songs his pre idol albums are better. Why do they have to give idols songs from crappy writers and work with crappy producers

  64. Congrats Lee and Lee fans! Phew, it’s up on iTunes. That really sucked that it took so long, but looking good now :).

  65. # 3 on itunes overall. Are these the pre-orders boosting it, or real-time orders?

Those are generally the pre-orders that boost it up that high. But if it stays up there over the next few days that’s a good thing.

Have fun tracking the numbers Lee fans! Don’t forget to screencap it at its peak; sometimes it’s fun to go back and look :)

  66. i’m not a big fan, but Me and my j. is a great song, my favorite

Agreed! I am really liking this one . I also like Beautiful Like You (this and M & MJ have the highest i-tunes ratings. I thought that was interesting) and It’s Gotta Be Love . Good luck to Lee! It is always fun when your favorites album finally comes out.

  67. I now see it at number 12. Did it fall out of the top 10 already?

  68. I now see it at number 12. Did it fall out of the top 10 already?

I see it at #13. UGHH! Not a good sign being in the top10 just for a couple of hours. I hope his physical sales are better.

  69. I clicked on my order number from the Sony/LDO website to download my pre-order of the album, but it just brings up a confirmation of my order with nothing to click on to download.

  70. I clicked on my order number from the Sony/LDO website to download my pre-order of the album, but it just brings up a confirmation of my order with nothing to click on to download.

Try it from the email they sent, click on order number should take you to the right spot! The sony/AI store site is not the most user friendly. :(

  71. Try it from the email they sent, click on order number should take you to the right spot! The sony/AI store site is not the most user friendly. :(

I did click on the link from the e-mail. I can see it shows my Live It Up single downloaded 1/1 (from two weeks ago), and then it says Live it Up (album) 0/0 download, and there’s no link anywhere to click! So frustrating….

  72. I now see it at number 12. Did it fall out of the top 10 already?

I believe you answered your own question :)

  73. I wonder why they did not do a Deluxe Edition of his album? Most of the former idols have had one that adds to their sales total. It helps a lot when you have two albums selling.

  74. The one on his website with Only Dreaming is considered the Deluxe Version.

Has anyone got the cd, and was Only Dreaming on the CD or was it a download? I haven’t received the cd yet but wondering how I get it.

  75. The American Idol/Sony website offered the Only Dreaming song but we have not receieved it yet. We were able to download the rest of the album. Hopefully we will get it by tomorrow.

  76. karenc I’m getting the physical CD and it hasn’t arrived yet (darnit) but my understanding was that OD was download only. Have not receieved an email yet.

  77. Congratulations to Lee and his fans. Hope he does really well.

  78. wmjtv, karenc, I also have ordered the physical CD, and haven’t gotten mine yet, either. I was under the understanding that OD would be a download we’d get by email, but I haven’t gotten that, either. I’m a little disappointed about that. But hopefully will get it tomorrow! I love the song Only Dreaming, which is why I ordered by this route.

  79. I am just happy that some of the peeps that comment on here regularly that are not “Lee” fans, are at least buying some of the individual songs. David Cook is a pretty good friend of Lee’s, and I hope his fans support Lee as well. He tweeted with a link to Lee’s CD. My physical CD with the Autographed CD Booklet from Newbury Comics is not here yet. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that it will be tomorrow.

  80. The idols are so nice, supporting each other. David Cook just tweeted a link to buy Lee’s album on itunes and I saw a tweet earlier from Carly Smithson telling people to go buy Lee’s album. Andrew, Katie, and Didi also tweeted about it.

Not about being nice. Probably because no one is buying as many copies of his album as management anticipated.

  81. I am not a big Lee fan (I am a total Adam stan), but I downloaded Lee’s CD. I don’t know if I count though because I’m Canadian. I like the CD. I love Lee’s voice.

  82. #10 overall.

Not impressive for a debut album. As an e.g., Adam Lambert debuted way above that last year! Billboard does not show him either in the 100 chart or the 200 chart. Amazon has him on the bestselling at 17 & does not appear on the Amazon top 10 MP3 albums paid or free, he’s not even in the iTunes top 10.

  83. Not about being nice. Probably because no one is buying as many copies of his album as management anticipated.

So Lee’s management forced all those people to tweet about his album? Can’t they not just want to support one of their friends? Good grief. Thanks for that laugh.

  84. This is such a good album. Can’t stop listening to it, “for real” as Lee would say. As I play it repeatedly, I don’t find myself wanting to skip any of the tracks. Plus my favorites keep changing the more I listen. Several sound like they could be radio hits. Brooklyn Bridge is definitely a movie song. I am very proud to be a Lee fan today.

  85. Why would Billboard have him on the 100 or 200 now when Soundscan numbers won’t even be out until NEXT Wednesday? And yes I totally forgot Adam debuted way higher. Maybe if Lee got half the promo Adam did he would sell a gazillion CDs.

I suppose 19 made Carly Smithson tweet in support of Lee? I don’t get why its so impossible to believe his friends would show support. Others do it all the time. I actually think the few that did tweet about his album showed who his real friends are. Its not like a bunch of 19E peeps pimped LIU.

  86. I suppose 19 made Carly Smithson tweet in support of Lee? I don’t get why its so impossible to believe his friends would show support. Others do it all the time. I actually think the few that did tweet about his album showed who his real friends are. Its not like a bunch of 19E peeps pimped LIU.

I love when they support each other. Lee has his friends and it is very sweet that they are tweeting to support him :)

  87. You can now get mp3 of Lee’s Soundcheck performances on Walmart.
    BLY and DI is outstanding.

  88. I see LIU is #11 on the overall iTunes chart right now. Did it get any higher than that earlier in the day?

  89. It was #3 overall and #1 on the pop chart, boosted by the pre-orders. When itunes stopped counting pre-orders, the overall ranking fell to just out of the top 10. It’s at #11 now, held at bay by three Beatles albums.

The itunes snafu might have boosted LIU’s initial placement. I’m assuming the other albums’ pre=orders kicked in when they debuted on itunes earlier in the day, so LIU’s pre-orders were in competition with real-time sales. Still, it was nice to see that #3 placement.

  90. latest iTunes update:
LIVEITUP – #5 Top Albums, #1 Top Pop Albums
    TOP POP SONGS: #72 – SS (single), #111 – BLY, #184 – LIU”

via @run_katya_run on twitter.. soo happy for lee, holding his own against tough competition :)

  91. I am very proud to be a Lee fan today.

bamintx, I 100% feel the same way (except I’m still listening to the stream, hopefully get my CD tomorrow.) I felt the same way about favorites switching every time, and that Brooklyn Bridge could be a movie track.

Glad to see on ITunes Lee’s back up to #5 overall and #1 Pop. He does have some stiff competition. I’m just glad for Lee that it’s out in time for the heavy-duty Christmas shopping in the next few weeks.

  92. I just bought the album. I thought it would take a week before its released in my country. Its so so good. My favs keep changing too. :)

  93. except I’m still listening to the stream, hopefully get my CD tomorrow

me too, still not released in my country :( ..at least we have the album stream, keeps me happy for now. just such a good album that i don’t think i’d want to put it on shuffle when i do get to put it on my ipod. i like the order of the songs, the way their stories are told :)

  94. 6am ET update, not sure where to post this at this time of day, as I’m off to bed in NZ!

    itunes Albums LIU #5, Pop LIU #2, S 31,
    Singles Pop SS(single) 68, BLY 92, LIU 138, SS(album) 162, MAMJ 170

    Amazon LIU #17, rock 6 ,pop 12

  95. To quote, “iTunes Fail.” WHAT. THE BEATLES were added to iTunes on the same day at mid morning. That is what was important about yesterday. I am a LEE FAN.

  96. In terms of total album sales, iTunes is pretty much meaningless. Combined, Amazon and iTunes represent less than 20 percent of total album sales.

  97. In terms of total album sales, iTunes is pretty much meaningless. Combined, Amazon and iTunes represent less than 20 percent of total album sales.

We know that, Barometz02, but it doesn’t make it any less fun to watch his progress on the chart. I’m really proud of him for still being in the top 10 this morning.

  98. @flicker

Danny Gokey’s album was #1 on itunes album chart for over a week and it sold around 60,000 copies in his first week. Let’s hope Lee will sell better than that.

  99. Good for Lee!

as of 645 am Pacific time:

    LIU #6 overall iTunes
    SS #348 overall iTunes

(ETA – I don’t remember Danny’s album hitting #1 on iTunes overall chart — maybe #1 on country chart? I went back to look at the thread for when it was released and the highest I see it talked about in any post is #3 overall, #1 country)

  100. Danny performed on Idol on Thursday, the week his CD was released. His CD went to #1 on Itunes overall after the Idol performance. He got a really good idol bump. It wasn’t #1 for the whole first sales week, though.

  101. Danny Gokey’s album was #1 on itunes album chart for over a week and it sold around 60,000 copies in his first week.

Can you remember if Danny was competing with the Beatles?

  102. I worked all day yesterday so wasn’t aware of the itunes FAIL until I got home. Sort of glad I didn’t bear witness to that…my CD’s (yes…plural) didn’t arrive from Amazon or Walmart yesterday so I went to Walmart this morning and bought 2 copies. (one for a co-worker who loves Lee).

Anyway, I haven’t been on MJ’s in a few days and started with this thread…I wanted to thank most of the non Lee fans for their support :) I’m sure you could imagine how you would have felt had this happened to your favorite idol :(

  103. It makes me giggle a little bit that we knew for weeks/months that Lee would be up against some stiff competition and then at the last minute they add…. the Beatles. Biggest band of all time to the mix. LOL

Anywho, even being a big Lee fan I wasn’t expecting him to hang around as high as he has. Wasn’t expecting doom and gloom like some in these parts, but nonetheless expecting outside of the top 10 once the pre-sales dropped off. So go Lee!
