“I recently spent some time at Gnome Studios in Nashville shooting some videos, wrote American Idol season 8 winner, to his fans in a newsletter, “and as I posted last week, I will be releasing one video every other Thursday starting today. As promised, here’s video #1”
Kris’s first video in the Gnome series is an acoustic mashup of recent Grammy nominated hits, “Chandelier” by Sia, “Take Me To Church,” by Hozier and “Stay with Me,” by Sam Smith.
The thing the three songs have in common, besides being well known pop hits, is the emotional subject matter and delivery by the original artists. Kris does a beautiful job of blending the songs together, keeping to the spirit of the originals, while, lending his own unique interpretation.
It’s one of Kris’ best mashups ever, which is why I am even posting it 3 days after it was originally uploaded (also, because we’ve been hella busy around here lately!)
