Not only will Blake Shelton sing a re-worked “Home” with his Voice adviser, Micheal Buble, duet with pal Reba McIntyre and croon a tune he co-wrote with his mother on his upcoming Christmas album, aptly titled. Cheers it’s Christmas, but he’ll also sing a tune with Kelly Clarkson.
“I wanted to record ‘There’s a New Kid In Town,’ which was co-written by Keith Whitley, and has been recorded by Alan Jackson and others,” said Blake, “So I asked Kelly Clarkson to sing on it, and she says, ‘I don’t know that song,’ and I realized it’s a country Christmas song.”
In addition, Blake will duet with wife, Miranda Lambert on “Jingle Bell Rock” and his wife’s girl group. Pistol Annies will “Blue Christmas.” Blake admits, “I tried to channel my best Elvis!”
Cheers it’s Christmas is set to be released October 2.
