Kelly Clarkson is addressing recent allegations of a toxic work environment behind the scenes of her daytime talk show.

The Kelly Clarkson Show host and American Idol OG winner took to social media Friday night to assure fans of the show that she will do whatever is necessary to maintain a healthy workplace.

“In my 20 years in the entertainment industry, I’ve always led with my heart and what I believed to be right,” Kelly wrote. ” I love my team at The Kelly Clarkson Show and to find out that anyone is feeling unheard or disrespected on this show is unacceptable.”

Kelly commits to “creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment”

She continued: “I have always been and will continue to be committed to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment at The Kelly Clarkson Show. As we prepare for a move to the east coast, I am more committed than ever to ensuring that not only our team that is moving, but also our new team in NY is comprised of the best and kindest in the business.”

Kelly will include leadership training for all of her senior staff, including herself. “There is always room to grow and ensure we are all being/becoming the best version of ourselves in any business, especially when it comes to leadership, to ensure that any notion of toxicity is eradicated.”

Kelly’s message comes after a Rolling Stone report, published Friday, that alleges the show’s producers “overworked” and “underpaid” employees behind the scenes. Employees also claimed that working on the daytime talk show was “toxic” and “traumatizing” to their mental health. RS spoke with 10 former and one current employees of the show. Several have years of experience working behind the scenes in television.

Alex Duda is a “monster”

The sources pointed to executive producer Alex Duda as the problem. “I think Alex Duda’s [execitive producer] a monster. I have a friend who’s an executive producer who warned me about taking this job, because apparently she has done this on every show she’s worked on.”

Duda has been working in the business for years. If Kelly believes that a few hours of corporate training is going to change her style? Color me skeptical.

The sources stressed that Kelly was NOT the problem. One said they “would be shocked if she knew” what was going on. Another source said that the host has “no clue how unhappy her staff is.”

In a statement shared with outlets, a spokesperson for NBC Universal said, “We are committed to a safe and respectful work environment and take workplace complaints very seriously and to insinuate otherwise is untrue. When issues are reported they are promptly reviewed, investigated and acted upon as appropriate. The Kelly Clarkson Show strives to build a safe, respectful and equitable workplace that nurtures a culture of inclusivity and creativity.”

If Kelly is serious about fixing what’s wrong, she’s gonna have to start firing people.
