Jennifer Hudson Sings ‘Where Peaceful Waters Flow’ for Global Citizens

Jennifer Hudson Global Citizen Concert

Jennifer Hudson opened the Global Goal: Unite for our Future – The Concert special, with a beautiful cover of Gladys Knight and the Pips classic “Where Peaceful Waters Flow.”

The American Idol alum and former The Voice coach performed from the top deck of a boat sailing down the Chicago River at sunset.

The Academy Award winner introduced her performance by talking about the importance of working together to bring about change.

“The power of unity creates change,” she said. “So let’s keep coming together to create that change, good change.”

The worldwide music and entertainment special celebrated the commitments made and actions taken by Global Citizen and their supporters to combat the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. It featured an international lineup of artists, comedians and cultural figures, along with global leaders from both government and the world of science.

Earlier in the day, a summit took place for world leaders, corporations and philanthropists, responding to collective calls for the development and equitable distribution of COVID-19 treatments for everyone, everywhere.
