American Idol Season 11 champ Phillip Phillips gives a solo concert in Windsor, Ontario and earns more than many of the tour dates for the American Idol tour last year. Meanwhile, he last winners of the X-Factor USA franchise Alex and Sierra open for Andy Grammer in Boston.
In other news, Billboard gushes over Fast and Furious managing to top the BB200 and Hot 100 at the same time. Something that hasn’t happened with a soundtrack album for over 10 years. Frankly, I’d be a lot more impressed if that wasn’t now kind of built into the DNA of the BB200. Expect this achievement to happen a lot more in the future because one hit single can easily overtop sales. Don’t get me wrong, the single driving both of these chart toppers sold an impressive amount this week, but the album was so far behind the top selling album of the week that this feels undeserved.
