Meanwhile, Kelly’s sales of “Piece by Piece” continued to be strong all week. Expect her in the top 10 on the Hot 100 if not the top 5. She should have the top digital song of the week.
Kayne’s latest twitter war is with deadmau5. It started when daedmau5 noticed that Kayne was using Pirate Bay to “access” some mixing software (Serum) produced by deadmau5’s friend (Kayne had posted an instagram of a youtube video, but the next tab over in the browser was Pirate Bay). Given that Kayne has recently gone to war with Pirate Bay where his kinda-sort-of-not-really-released album was frequently stolen, this put Kayne in a hypocritical position – a position he should be well familiar with being in by now. Kayne responded as he does by making fun of deadmau5’s name, pointing out that he makes more revenue for Tidal than deadmau5 (both are partial owners) and asking deadmau5 to dress up like Minnie Mouse for North’s next birthday. deadmau5 saw that as classic attempt to derail the conversation. Finally, somebody in Kayne’s camp (maybe his MIL?) told Billboard that Kayne was just trolling with the browser tab with the Pirate Bay Torrent for Serum because his album had been ripped so many times. Sure, Kayne. I swear, Kayne is keeping a reporter at Billboard employed. It is certainly keeping his name out there.
